  1. I'm getting new rubber soon (just hit 18K on the front and 13K on the rear) and am considering going whitewall on the '99 RSV. I have the green/grey paint scheme, and have always just had blackwalls, but I am curious as to how the RSV looks with both wide and/or thin whitewall's on them. If you have pics of your RSV with a whitewall tire, please post so I can get a feel for how it looks. Don't care about the brand of tire (God knows we don't need THAT discussion again!), but just how it looks vs. a blackwall. Thanks!
  2. I've been talking with Dave, over at Wide Whitewall Tires (Hobbycar.com) and he said he can have a run of WHITEWALL car tires specially made for the VR Darksider Members interested! They will be whitewall on BOTH sides, and they WILL be car tires in a 165-80-15 or 155-80-15. He asked me to get an idea of how many people might be interested, and he will get back to me on pricing info. SO- If it's something you're interested in, let me know. Either reply to the post or PM me. If you have any questions you'd like me to ask him, feel free, and I'll email him on Monday with the list of questions gathered! So far, one of the questions I plan on asking him, since they are manufacturing the tire, is can they put the VR logo, or the mottoe somewhere on the tire.. That'd be sweet... Maybe overkill, but who cares?!
  3. I ordered a D404 WWW tire on Rocky Mountain ATV, because they had the best price. I was assuming that the D404 WWW had the whitewall to the edge of the tire. The tire that they sent, however does not look like the picture. The description on the tire is D404 WSW. When I look on the Dunlop website, it appears that the D404 only comes in a WWW, but this tire is definately not a Wide Whitewall. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do;jsessionid=76C8C1F442BBE9670536DEE639C03ECB.westring1?webCatId=8&webTypeId=229&navTitle=TiresandWheels&navType=type&prodFamilyId=19444&stockId=140073&ref=gmc This is the site and the tire looks nothing like this. Did I receive the right tire? or did they change the Wide Whitewall Look? Thanks:confused07:
  4. The hubby and I are heading out tomorrow to pick up 2 of our sons and their wives and heading to Kentucky/Tennesee for a week!! Can't wait to get the heck out of here! Had a little trouble with our rear tire on Memorial weekend (picked up a nail and ruined it)and the only thing the dealer had was a Dunlop whitewall. So, if you see a 05 Midnight Venture with a whitewall rear tire and a black front one tooling down the road in your area, don't laugh. :crackup:Just give us a wave and know that even though we may look funny, we're still having a ball!!!!
  5. Hey dragerman Just checking in to see if you had time to see what the name of the cleaner or company is for the whitewall cleaner/protectant that we were discussing at Carl's M&E last Sat? Any help will be appreciated!!!!!!!!
  6. Anyone out there knows how to clean whitewall tires? I am having trouble finding stuff that doesn't require a lot of hard work and will properly restore the whitewall on my bike's tires. No matter what I use there is still some yellow marks, along the outside perimeter, that I can't get rid of. Thanks for your help. Hermann
