  1. Just ordered my new Nokia lumia 920 windows 8 phone with AT&T as the carrier from CAR TOYS on line for a Penney. What a deal that is for new customers only or customers eligible for upgrade. Here is the link www.cartoys.com :)
  2. Got to the office this morning and turned on the air and nothing happened. The air conditioner is out. I am in south georgia and the weatherman said this was going to be the hottest, most miserable day of the year. Don't know when the repairman can get here. Anyone have a portable air conditioner? I am down to a tee shirt and pants. Do you think I would lose customers if I stripped down to just underwear or do you think I might get more customers, especially female customers.
  3. Today while I was in my statistics class I came across some intresting points in our book. (Yeah, I'm nerdy and read the book.) Anyway the following statistics were noted under the heading "Quality in Services" * The average company never hears from more than 90% of its unhappy customers. For every complaint it receives, the company has at least 25 customers with problems, about 1/4 of which are serious. * Of the customers who make a compaint, more than half will do business again with the organization if their complaint is resolved. If the customer feels that the complaint was resolved quickly, this figure jumps to about 95%. *The average customer who has had a problem will tell 9 or 10 others about it. customers who have had complaints resolved satisfactorily will only tell about 5 others. * It costs 6 times more to get a new customer than to keep a current customer. Now as we were covering these points I couldn't help but think on all the complaints that I've seen here about Yamaha's apparent lack of care when keeping up to date with the latest changes and all the other posts I've seen where a member has said farewell to their Venture cause they want something that is offered on other bikes but not on the venture even though Yamaha has the tech to implement it. So I'm curious as to what features Yamaha has to implement in order to keep from loosing more ventureriders. Thinking back I'd say that the list would include but not limited to: Fuel Injected Cassette Deck Replacement First Gen Gearing (power range and such without the 2nd gear issue) Kind of curious as to what others think on any of the above topics.
  4. We took one in on trade at the dealership. It has 64k miles on it. I don't know much about these bikes, but it runs good. It does need some TLC and has been in the weather some. Choke cable is broke and needs rear brake pads immediately. Don't know if anyone might be interested in it, but we'll take $2650 for it just like it sits. I did ride it in to the dealership from the customers house. If you want to see a few pics, you can go to www.huffmanmotors.com and look at inventory under kawasaki. If you have any questions about this bike, feel free to give me a call. I hope it is ok to post like this in the watering hole. If not, make it disappear. Thanks.
  5. Good afternoon everyone, I am about to change the set of tires for the first time on my 2008 Venture. I have read so much on which tire to choose, i really need some advice. The local bike shop tells me the Michilen Commander tires are a big seller for him and his customers love them. Most of his customers are Harley owners. He is giving me a good price on them but I just dont know how they will handle on my Venture. He sells other brand names and has no problem selling me what I ask for. I know alot of you have experience in this area and have used many different tires. My question is: How do the Michilen tires perform on a Venture and what could I expect out of them in mileage and performance? Thanks for your advice!

  7. Folks, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I am sorry that I'm not posting as much as I once did. I love this group and it is as important to me as it has ever been but things have just gotten a bit busy for me. I still get every single post by email and read them all. I respond to some but not as many as I have in the past. The recession has taken a bit of a toll or our company also. We are doing fine and I think my job is secure but they are asking us to work a few more hours, see more customers and do what we can to drive more sales. I used to be on the road about 4 days a week and then get home Thursday night, do my reports and etc. on Friday and enjoy the weekend. Now I'm leaving early on Monday morning and not getting home until Friday evening. Then I usually end up doing my reports and etc. on Saturday or Sunday and getting ready to leave again on Monday. I'm feeling pretty good. They eye is doing OK at this point, vision is still good but it's too early to get excited about it. I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm getting older or the radiation but I find that I tire out really easily right now. I've been told that the radiation has a lingering effect that causes it. The fact is, when I get to my hotel room at night after driving all day and seeing 15-20 customers per day, I'm pretty much worn out. So please, understand that I'm still here and am still doing things in the background that need to be done. I still post fairly often but just don't feel as creative and outgoing as I usually do. I'm sure it will get better soon and things will be back to normal. Don
  8. I sent an email to Yamaha Canada. It is the only one I could find a way to send something to. I called Yamaha in the USA and they told me they don't have an email address (ya right). I went to Yamaha Japan web site and there is no email address there either. If anyone has an email address for Yamaha Japan, I would like to get it. Anyway, here is what I sent to Yamaha Canada. What do you think? ------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to know why Yamaha doesn't listen to, or address, their customers concerns. Just myself, I know 5 people that are no longer Yamaha customers. A president in one of our provinces, in a Star group that fully supports Yamaha has stepped down because he has gone the HD way. I am sure that others have emailed you and you may or may not have replied. I don't know because I never see or hear Yamaha bring up concerns brought up from their customers. I just bought my 2nd Yamaha. It is a 2007 Venture. I must say that it is a very comfortable ride and my wife loves it. However, so many of us want to know a few things. And I, as a customer, would appreciate the courtesy of you answering each of these questions / concerns. I am going to rant on, but again, as a customer that has spent a lot of money on your product, has been loyal, and hopes that you want me to continue to be loyal, will address these questions and concerns. Why are you still using OLD technology on this bike? Why have you not gone to Fuel Injection on the Venture? Why still a cassette player and not a CD? Do you still buy cassettes?????????????? Why no tachometer? Other gauges?????? Why don't you take a look at a Harley dash on their touring bikes? CD Player on current and pre 2007 bikes. Built in tachometer, temp gauge, oil gauge, battery gauge, etc. NO DUMMY LIGHTS that only come on when it is too late!!!!! When I bought this bike I was told it comes with an MP3 player. I haven't got mine yet however I have seen them and the word is, it is a cheap piece of #$@#$. Why would you insult your customers that buy your high end bike with a cheap piece of crap? It is an insult and you would have been better off offering nothing at all. This little unit might have been a good offer to your customers that buy your scooters. But a Venture?? Come on. You could have offered an Ipod Nano. You know, a little class with a class bike. Maybe my next bike will be a generic bike. Why have you not addressed the whining in the motor? May that is normal, maybe not. Doesn't really bother me a whole lot but would still like to know. What about the CHIRPING sound (the George Jetson car sound) in our bikes? When I got my bike it was not there. After about 3 weeks, now it is there and it is getting louder. Now that sound is very annoying. What is it? So many of us are concerned with that chirping sound and yet I have hear or seen nothing from Yamaha regarding this. Some say it is a bad clutch basket. Is this the case? Are you leaving it up to us to correct this problem so you don't have to do a massive recall? Are you afraid to actually look after your customers?????? The chirping is starting to get quite loud in my bike. Enough to distract from the stereo playing. I suggest that you start having some quality control. More so than I am sure you already have. I suggest that your department at Yamaha Canada starts watching what their customers are saying on a forum called VentureRider.org at: http://www.venturerider.org/ There are a lot of other concerns, however this is enough for now. I am curious as to how serious you take this email and how it is dealt with. Curious to know how valuable my business is to you. Hope to have all above mentioned answered. Hope to hear from you soon, Greg
