  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dano!!!
  2. They should settrle for what it will cost you to purchase the exact same bike. Salvage rights can be a good thing if you want to go thru the hassle of parting it out and listing the parts on fleabay. The motor/traqnsmission should bring between $500 to a $1000. A lot depends on what's left of the bike...
  3. Oh Oh!! Did XV1100 from Kitchener get his ordeered yet?? It is suppose to be shipped here...

  5. No, the din cables can not be mixed up as they are different by the number of pins they are. The exception is the 2 intercom cablesa can be mixed, it does not matter. One cable comes from the tuner box that is strapped to the amp box, 2 are for the intercoms, one is for the CB. If you look closely you will see that they are labeled... Tom, you PAID for a unit when I'm trying to get rid of my extras?????

  14. As far as the mic cover on the preamp module, all I do is cut out a piece of material and glue it in after taking the faceplate off and gingerly removing the green plastic that's in there...
  15. Yah! Old bearings can develop flat spots on them especially if it weas setting for an extended time. Also the grease turns to glue. Sooo, I do recommend new bearings and races...
  16. You might try Hannigan. To my knowledge they still convert 1st gen's so they may have a kit for you...
  17. Yup! One key fits all! Also the CD changer was standard on the '09. Sounds like you got shafted! Better put the dealer on the blacklist! I know I would not want to do business with them...
  18. Man, I don't know WHAT to say Earl!! Just plain glad you are OK! Yah, do not take the first insurance offer. Insist they either repair yours to what it was before the accident or replace it with one in the same condition as yours was before the accident, and ask for salvage rights to the old one...

  25. Perhaps some of the heat is coming from the openings on the engine cover. Try blocking them off and see if that helps. They did make some nice aftermarket chrome ones. The MK2 had vents you could open and close for hot vs cold riding...
