  2. I just did a mod to my driving lights you may want to pursue. My kit had a glass fuse with a cheap a$$ plastic fuse holder that ended up corroding over winter storage so this spring I had no driving lights. My mod consists of some extra wire and a waterproof spade type fuse holder relocated to the front lower fairing where the other fuses are. Now if I have any problems with the fuse I won't have to split the fairing again...
  3. WOW! I haven't participated in that since the '60s!! Of course my ticket expired when I was in ther service and never renewed, found other interests instead... CQ SS de WB2GBO
  4. Well, I'm not sure but I think the bike is regestered in Tom's name and if that is the case I somehow know he would be the first to know should they be in an accident. Yes, time and time again the fact that we are family here shows thru, we do worry about each other!!
  5. Your cricket noise could possibly be a rattle from a loose baffle in youir exhaust crossover. They can be cut into and repaired, or spend megaqbucks replacing it either with stock or aftermarket...
  6. Yup, play "Pirate" and lopp it's ear off!!
  7. Thanks Mini, I was going to suggest talking to anybody that ever went down, but that link is a perfect example!!!
  8. Yeah! I'll even let ya call it the Bongo Bob Forum...:stirthepot:
  9. Oh Oh!!!! You just gave Big Tom a very good reason to come across the border Thomas...
  10. Yes, you have to go thru Intercourse to get to Bliss. You can always detour and head for Blue Balls. I think that's near Bird-In-Hand...
  11. Don't know how many of you noticed, but on the cover of the official program there are 2 RSV's right up front!!!!!
  12. Just checked my calendar and it looks clear, so far...
  13. The black covers on the front and rear valve covers are a twofold device. They tend to keep the motor dry, and also shield the battery from engine heat...
  14. OK the black thingey you refer to is the YICS and yes many prople do disconnect them. In theory they work but in reality the jury is still out. Just plug up all 4 vaccuum lines. As far as testing the coils, there is a spec for them as far as resistance readings go. As far as the TCI goes, they trigger the coil primary, so just find a spare plug and put your coil wire on it and ground the metal part of the plug to the frame or any metal you can lay it on that is connected to and turn the starter over and watch for spark at the electrode. If you get any spark at all then the TCI is most likely good. Nom spark and you already tested tyhe coil then the TCI or a connector is bad. I would suspect a bad carb as long as you are getting spark to the cylinder...
  15. Gary, the EBC replacement rotors have the same part no for both L & R so that's why I think they may be the same. I don't think there is an inside/outside due to no offset...
  16. Also make sure it is OK for aluminum, some anti freezes aren't!
  17. I'll look tomorrow. In reality there ism no difference between the left and right...
  18. Tally Ho!!! Now just where did I put that sticky wicket...
  19. Yah!! Cute little thing!
  20. See ya next week sometime!!!!!
  21. Impressive!!!!!
  22. Yes you can, and yes you should mount it backwardsdue to braking charactoristics, but the front tire will wear much faster than a tire designed for the rear. But hey it's a Brick-stone so maybe that's a good thing...
  23. Yah! Bench testring involves hooking up 12 volts to the sensor then using a voltmeter you should see around 2 volts at the output. Use a vacuum pump, or suck on a clean hose then blow in it, and the voltage should be greater with vacuum and less with positive pressure. I had one bad one that read around 8 volts constant...
  24. The rubber feed thru grommet for the stator wires can many times be a problem! Both the grommet and the contact surfaces need to be meticulously clean and even then they can seep a little. I now use some gasket sealer around the grommet to avoid problems...
  25. Hmmmm, good question Steve, and unfortunately you have entered two variables, the new clutch and the new oil at the same time! There has been a couple of members that had strange problems with the Shell oil, but others have had no problems and swear by it! I pretty much exclusively use Delo myself. I guess the only thing you can do is let the clutch wear in for a few thousand miles and see if it goes away, and if not tear it apart and inspect for strange wear...
