Just wanted to see if anyone else is planning on heading West after the 2013 International. I know Leo3Wheel (Leo, NJ - '09 Hannigan) is planning on heading West as well, possibly Carbon-One (Larry, Michigan - '09 Hannigan) too. For us, we don't have a firm route yet. Only destination we have to make is Jack Fish Lake, Saskatchewan on the 15th of August. Between the International and August 15 we are free spirits. We aren't looking for mileage and would prefer to "smell the flowers" along the way, see the sights, probably camping for the most part. Anyone else considering a Western vacation (or headed West to get home) after the International? If anyone is headed West... post your general plans or destination and lets see if we can piece something together. Or if you live West of the International and want visitors....

With the warm temps there will be a lot of bikes on the road this weekend. http://www.weather.com/maps/activity/travel/usweatherday3_large.html Especially Saturday. If your traveling try to get to your destination before 6pm. Quite a few like to start drinking early. Be safe... Happy New Years!

As usual, Marca and I plan to ride Wednesday nights,, start @ 6:30 for now although we could start @ 6 if that's good for those who want to join. We ride until dusk,,,, spend time to check out ice-cream and\or coffee, listen to everybody's BS and then ride back to where we came from. Want to join us?????? you would be welcome!!!! Destination is never decided until we leave,,,, it depends on who comes along. Mostly we're back by 10 - 10:30pm

Just heard about this place in Mansfield Ohio and thinking about taking a ride to check it out. We really liked the movie and thought it would be neat to go and have a look at the actual prison. Anyone else been there? As a tourist I mean... Or a resident...LOL! Maybe a good destination for a Ohio M&E???? http://www.mrps.org/

Just curious on a campers day? How far do you go in one day? What is a typical day like? I usually try for 300miles in a day. My ideal is to get up as soon as I hear the birds, break camp and hit the road by 8, if not earlier. After 2 gas stops, say 200 miles, I am ready for a good long break and am looking for a good lunch place where I can watch my girlfriend drink a bear or two and maybe steal a sip. Review my map and re-evaluate our destination for the evening. Like pulling into camp early setting up watching my girl cook dinner as I write in my journal about the day, the performance of the bike, and any interesting people we came across. Beer really, really taste good then! I can and have done this for a month or more! For me the journey is usually more then the destination I love a good country road I have never been on in a state I have not visited much! As I said this is my ideal! Curious what others experience and what works for them?

We're heading south in July and I'd like some help on the best route from Boston to Washington, DC. I know the route from here to Boston well, and I know where I'm going after I get to Washington. I looking for a fast route from Boston to Washington, but I don't want to get in heavy traffic. We'll be traveling this area on a Sunday. Washington is pretty much the beginning of this trip and Nashville is the destination with some nice riding in between (Skyline, Blueridge, Dragon, and a bunch of other roads). Any and all help is appreciated. John

I am trying to put together a Ride-Meet-Eat for the 12th of September 2009. Destination will be Leavenworth, the Bavarian Village. As usual this will be weather dependent, not that we mind riding in the rain, but Seattle cagers seem to aim for us when they have to use windshield wipers! The current forecast indicates partly cloudy and high 70's to high 80's on the east side of the mountains...but this is the PNW and it could change by Wednesday. I am open for suggestions on a meeting place/time/fuel stop/and food destination. Just add to this thread and we will see what happens. Larry AKA: Silverdeer
