  1. Might be a good one for an Aussie lass to buy, mod it, and leave over here to save on the shipping costs and hassles... Brian
  2. I LIke the idea, you should go for it:cool10: Brian
  3. thats why you need the Defender Motorcycle jeans from Diamond Gussett. They have a velcro closeing tab at the bottom of the leg to stop those little hitchhikers from taking a ride with ya, Plus ya get the Kevlar in the butt, hip and knee as a bonus... Brian (FYI, I dont have anything to do with Diamond Gusset , I am just a very satisfied customer....)
  4. My 85 snapped the shaft just in front of the ujoint, right where the shaft exits the back of the engine and it kind sounded like a pop when spun at slow speed. Welcome to the nut house,..... Good luck with the bike, they are relaiable and mostly trouble free, but there are issues occasionally like anything... Brian
  5. Just make sure the container doesnt have "Energy Conserving" anywhere on the label or it will probably cause your clutch to slip. A ton of PPL here are using Shell Rotella T Brian

  7. I would suggest getting a new harddrive andinstall it in your computer, set your old hd on the side for now. Reinstall windows on your new harddrive and get everything updated and reinstalled. I would also buy an external case for a harddrive (cheap) and put your old drive into it. your computer should then recognize your external drive and allow you to get your picture files and other importanat data off it.. When youre absolutely sure you have everything off the old drive that you need format it and use it as a way to backup your files. Pm me if you have any quesions. Brian

  10. If your 85 is oem colour it will be Brown and the silver-gold, (they only made one colout that year, I think) An 86 might be a fairly close match too if you font want to paint right away. So look around for those years might save you some money instead of painting Pinwall has some http://www.ebay.ca/sch/pinwall_cycle_parts/m.html?_nkw=xvz+fairing&_sacat=0&_odkw=xvz&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3911.c0.m270.l1313 Brian
  11. Sounds like you have a plan worked out, and it looks like youve got the details handled. I hope it works for you and I hope youll post some pics and info for anyone else that may want to try something new and different on their bike. Brian
  12. When I need a part and dont necessarily need new, I look at Pinwall Cycle on their ebay store, tons of used parts. Brian
  13. What side do you need, I think PBandJ might still have the right side left from his parts bike. I bought the left side from his 85. It would save you having to paint if you could find an 85. Brian
  14. Rick from Buckeye perfromance has them listed , I really like mine, itmakes the oil change about a 10 minute job. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/p02.htm Brian
  15. Just my thoughts, For the 20 bucks difference I would rather have the remote and the warranty froma Canadian company. Plus supporting a local company , not all the money going offshore Brian
  16. Thanks for letting us know that it is all working fine now. Brian
  17. I am about 99.99% sure that you wont have any issues. there were some tiny differences in the bikes but the fairing wasnt one of the changes. I know Rocket has had different years of fairings on his 83. Brian
  18. I love my Drift 170 it works well and takes good pics and movies, my only issue was trying to figure out how to mount it... Brian
