  1. DOnt eat that "special" fudge or brownies and then ride though , it will get you in all kinds of trouble...... Brian:whistling:
  2. Who ya trying to kid Buddy, i am betting big bucks youre not running anywhere....let alone faster than a speed limit.....lol! Brian
  3. one of the guys I ride with has a Facebook page that has about 500 people updating the facebook page when a radar location is spotted. Using a mobile handheld means you can do that right away, and it seems to work fairly well, if you set it up to send you a notification when a new entry is sent in. Brian
  4. Congrats and best wishes to both of you guys. You truly are a couple that deserves all the best another lifetime together can bring!!! Brian
  5. ! agree with ya Boomer, as much as I hate to point fingers at someone else's misfortune, that issue has been going on since late summer. They cant seem to get it fixed so I posted that I was never going to renew because of it and all i got was excuses and flames. THis site is the one I prefer by far but occasionally i would pop over and say hi, but not after the ongoing issues and what seems like a lack of concern about it. So thanks to Freebird and the Mod (Squad) for all you do in keeping this site the best one anywhere!!! Brian
  6. Darn I shoulda read this earlier! I just replaced the battery in my 07 escape this morning, it was just off warranty by 2 months, darn it! I bought an Exide from pArts source cause they had the best price for the cold cranking power. I hope i have better luck with Exide that you guys did!!! Brian
  7. I have to recommend Red Wing shoes as my favourite. When I was working in retail or the restaurant biz, I always had sore legs and feet as I was on my feet for the full 8 or more hours a day. After I switched to Red Wings Food service work shoe I never had an issue again, they have a great shock absorbing sole and they are made in the states so ya know the quality is good. I would recommend going into a Red Wing Store or a good reputable Shoe store so you get someone that actually knows how shoes fit for different jobs and people. youll pay a bit more, but your comfort is so worth it. Brian
  8. This is exactly what my 85 was doing before the rebuild last year. When the bike was cold i could roll on throttle in any gear and it would slip, after warm up it would be fine. I told Rocket about this so he replaced the springs in the clutch with the Barnett springs. My clutch hasnt slipped since but the clutch lever did get a bit harder to pull. Brian
  9. I agree with Tom. Ya gotta treat yourself after the last outing you had with those hospital types. Brian
  10. I once asked a fellow wearing a kilt at a ceilidh what he wore under the kilt. He just tipped his glass of whiskey and smiled and said.....nothing but lipstick.......:rotf: brian:cool10:
  11. You surf when youre at work?........geeez,.....i would never do that........................................... (more than 8 or 10 times a day):rotf: brian
  12. Hey Rick The same type of law starts here Jan1 also, but I am not terrbly hopefull that anything will change. Right now the Bluetooth retailers have raised the price on anything that makes a cell handsfree..... Actually this week the Police are handing out warning tickets if they see any infractions in advance of the implementation of the new law, it wont cost anyone but it is a means of helping make people aware...we hope.... Brian
  13. What i did was make up both maps, then open up something like windows paint or photoshop, or any image editing program and just cut and paste both images into one document, and save it. then upload it just like the one you already have. Brian
  14. am glad your eye thing went well, ithe lens replacement surgery really is a nothing-to-worry about deal anymore isnt it? u dont even see the instruments or feel any pain...its absolutley amazing the changes in a few minutes in the brightness and colours of everything. if ya Get the rest of ya fixed up and youll be dangerous!!! Brian
  15. Thats great news! So, ....does this mean youll be getting used to getting up early and the famous chicken at PIP wont be waking you up late anymore? ( i heard a story from a lil bird in Wainwright AB) Brian
  16. COngrats!!!....... I think......:confused24: I sure wish i knew what you were talking about..... Brian
  17. your 85 G1 is a great machine and the 85 brown is a great colour, dont let Yammer convince you that its like his "ugly" bike . its no wonder he has had issues with the bike when he calls her names like 'ugly"......lol! The tips shouldnt hurt the bike but you may run lean if it doesn have enuff backpressure. I would think that would be real loud, are you aiming to be as deaf as the rest of us lod farts when youre our age? LOL Brian
  18. I do know of a few ppl that have put the 1300 engine in the 83-85 mk1 when the 2nd gear issue that the 83-85's were known for popped up. It was way easier to replace the engine (and probably cheaper) than fixing the blown 2nd gear. I dont know of any major issues, but if I remember the carbs are jetted a bit different, and bit different wiring and cruise control. Brian
  19. Thats a darn good question, I hadnt thought about that. I have issues with the gear on the front wheel acting up once in a while so i got a different one shipped up here to replace mine. I guess i had better do some counting and checking before i do the swap. Thanks for the heads up!! Brian
  20. thanks everyone for their input, it will help as I am looking around this winter for heated gloves and vest. Johnny B good ta see you online again, I hope to catch up with you guys again at Nelson this summer!!! Brian
  21. Jack I feel for ya! that snow thing must be ruff for u guys! We have had snow for a whole week now, and I had to put the bike away. Take care driving in that stuff, we dont want you to get hit while out seein the sights again in the snow. Brian
  22. I guess my post over there on Venturers ruffled some feathers, I didnt intend to hurt anyones feelings, but heck ive been getting virus warnings over there for months! I like the forum and there are a lot of great people over there, but the bugs and virus warnings are just more hassle and worry than I feel i want to deal with. I do feel sorry for their people working on the issues, and I do know that they work hard and i appreciate the work they do. I know we have quite a large number of members that go into both forums so, If I hurt anyones feelings in this forum or there, I apologize. Brian:bang head:
  23. Thats great that you finally got a handle on the whine. I am also impressed that the dealer was upfront with you about what went on. Brian:smile5:
  24. That is why i posted a note there this morning that I will not renew. Brian
