If your backup isnt very large, when you get connected to the net I would suggest Mozy https://mozy.com/?gclid=CJfItorKgaACFRwUawodgTaEmQ&mcr=1&ref=0811cfe9 . They offer free 2 gigs back up and they put a client on the machine that allows you to program backups to select what you want backed up and the best time to do it. if your backups get bigger than 2 gigs, you can sign up for their unlimited account for 4.95 a month. My brother used this and lost the harddrive on his local machine and had everything restored once he reinstalled his Operating system. Brian

I was looking at a Vmax form and some fellow mentioned that there were V4 logo inserts available for the vmax for the Stator and Clutch covers. Mine are missing some chrome so I went and looked and I think they look cool. Now my question is...will they fit my 85 G1? Here is the link. they are at the bottom of the page under vmax engine enhancements page, sorry it wont let me link directly to it. http://www.exactrep.com/acatalog/index.html?http%3A//www.exactrep.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html&CatalogBody Brian

checking oil
friesman replied to blueline's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Why not get the oil at the right level when its upright, and then let it over onto the side stand, then mark it some way, (with a small mark from a felt marker or whatever. Brian -

Its so hard to put a price on something like that, but I think somewhere between 200-300 bucks a side would be a fair price. Brian

rear air suspension
friesman replied to breezelasbre73's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I cant help you with that as I have the royale, but if you go to forum on the top left, then look for 1st gen tech stuff, you should be able to find the manual posted there. My back shock groans from time to time usually at certain temps. so it may be nothing for you to be concerned about. here is the link to click on and then scrool down for the tech library http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13 Brian- 12 replies

Mufflers for a 1st Gen
friesman replied to elmicko's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I dont know if you can get them anymore but i like the look andthe sound of the Jardines on my 85. Condor did a group buy a year ago on Macs that look and sounda lot like Jardines but I dont know if he has any left. I love the rumble when you roll on the throttle, it sounds kinda like a 350 chevy with a good set ofmufflers under hard acceleration. Brian -
I usually dont watch that stuff, i like the sports but the pomp and crap isnt usually something i spend time on. BUT, i watched last night and was very impressed with the evening. Good Job Vancouver!!!!! Brian I am betting you guys stateside didnt know you had so many of us Canucks in your midst....

I know there are more than a couple of collectors of unusual bikes and scooters in here. I stumbled across this link today while looking at repos, etc. https://www.crankyape.com/default.asp?pg=DispSingleItem&ItemNumber=16870 Brian

I dont think the RSV will fit in a 9 ft trailer, but check the length to be sure. Thats why i went with the 12 ft enclosed trailer for my G1, it was going to be too tight a fit to suit me brian

Ive only beent there once, but when I put the address into Google Earth , it comes up about 5 blocks directly behind the Joe louis Arena, i dont know exactly how good that immediate area is but I do know when you come over the bridge from Windsor Ont. into that end of Detroit it looks like a ruff area with all the empty buidlings and stuff. I dont want to make you worried but I do want you to have facts so I hope someone else chimes in who knows the area better than me. One of the guys I work with has been taking his daughter all over as well checking out Vet colleges. Last week I think he was in Palm Springs, and Philadelphia and waterloo ont. Good luck, i hope she gets in where she wants (ps try Saint Kitts just a bit south east of Puerto Rico) Brian

here is a link to our provincial insurance company called SGI. We dont have a choice of who to buy our insurance and registration from, it has to be from them. I think standard is 500 de on collision and theft, comprehensive from weather etc. I beleive there is also a 1m liability clause. I license my bike for the months i use it (usually about 8- 9 months) and i pay 58 bucks a year storage insurance for the time it isnt insured. I do have the maximum safety rating so it entitles me to my 20% discount. http://www.sgi.sk.ca:8080/VehicleFeeCalculator/make.do Brian:mo money:

I just find it funny how some people get so bent about ownership of certain events. I like reading both sides of stuff like this and smile at how each side has their spin.... Kinda like how us Canadians took over everything north of DC in some little skirmish and then the Canadians set an important politicians house on fire and in the restoration process they painted it white and thats why its know as the WHite House today. I am sure American historians have a wee bit different take on the story. But it does make a good tale when you spin it with a local angle..... I love this stuff, especially during PMS season......
