  1. Agreed,or mounted backwards,,,,,,, don't shake your head, it has happened and will separate the tire,,,at least so I'm told.
  2. Wayne & Carl will be there. Maybe supper together after?
  3. In Canada we may be a bit different and use different language. I was taught to: 1) Srub off some speed 2) Judge the curve, and setup to the outside of the curve, not to be confused with the outside of the lane. 3) If it's a right hand curve, your head is up, you look right, you push on the right handle bar,,,, and then you'll automatically lean right and go right. 4) If you get in trouble,,,remember,,the throttle is your friend, so use it and push harder. 5) At the apex,, the center of the curve, you need to be cutting the corner off and rolling on some throttle in order to stay in your lane at the end of the process. Make sense???? it works, if you use it and train yourself for it.
  4. I generally shift at 3000 or there abouts, unless I have another 1st gen on my tail, then I might shift at 6500. No other scoot would cause me to shift that high, unless a real noisy biker were getting too close behind me, or I was catching up. About the brakes,,, it's a thought, check the temp after you been riding a while. They will be hot, but should not be flaming hot. Or let the scoot warm right up to operating temp and then take it for a ride. If it's got guts at the start but looses it later, brakes maybe an issue,,, and if it's brakes, fix now, don't fool with brakes.
  5. You lucky sock,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, But then you deserve it, if any body does,,,,,,ride easy, ride safe brother.
  6. I'm thinking that it needs some VentureRider decals on it,,,, then we could all claim it and you could run around the country meeting with folks and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, do a little maintainance in the process. So when will you be in Onatrio????????? There's a couple of second gens here that could use a little upgrade, so as to be able to keep up.
  7. I would start thinking about a restriction in the fuel system, plugged screen, filter, maybe a pinched line. When you did the carbs, did you take them off, open them up and clean everything in sight, were all the diaphragms good and were the little diaphragms good, were all the air passages and fuel passages clean and open?
  8. And I thought this was a motorcycle site, and now I got to read about taking pictures????? Oh ya, taking pictures is part of belonging here eh? So maybe Charlie is trying to become efficient and doing some practising.
  9. Somebody once said that this was a nice site to belong to,,,,,,so when are you all going to start proving that,,, so far,, oh never mind, you all will take it the wrong way anyways.
  10. Good to go, it seems. Glad you got it fixed Carl
  11. Thanks for posting. Carl
  12. 3\4 inch for the drain plug and a 12 mil for the oil filter. Filter can be accessed behind the chin without chin removal. Use either grease or silicone on the gasket, I don't change the gasket everytime, doesn't need it.
  13. Thanks Brad,,,,I noticed that Lonna is the same height as Sherry,,,now how is that possible,,,,,,must be photoshopped,,,,,,,,I also notice that Hal has a bad habit,,, tut tut. The things you learn when your not present.
  14. Actually, I'm doing pretty good. The crutches have been parked, but I don't make a big issue of walking just yet. I don't think Marca has noticed that I'm somewhat mobile, so I'm just letting her nurse me for a little while longer,,,, just so that she'll have it down pat,,,,you never know who else may need some nursing in the future. Sat on the scoot yesterday, and almost went for a ride,,,,,but thought the better of that, after all it was Sunday and we had company coming,,,, didn't want anybody getting the 'wrong' impression. As it worked out,,,,,food was real good, company was super and the pictures from the rally were much appreciated. Carl
  15. It's going to take a while for this news to sink in. I really thought God had some plans for him here, after all the education he went through. Now I see he was training to be in heaven, and be a servant there. We just never know when that time comes. Guess we should all be more ready. Our prayers for Alice and the rest of the family, We'll pray for comfort and peace, and that the days ahead will, in the end, be a blessing to all. The Shepherds arms are always there to surround those who ask in the time of need. Please let us know about funeral arrangements. Carl & Marca
  16. Wow. Now you can ride, ride, and ride some more. You look really good on that there scooter, just need to update your driving habits a little, mostly I notice that you're on the wrong side of the road,,,, now if everybody else does the same, I guess it's ok, but watch out for any Americans, we think we own that side.
  17. Wow , that was great to watch all that. Thanks Cindy. We'll be at the next one.!!!! Marcarl
  18. That white stuff is called SNOW and if you move to Texas then you'll get homesick for the stuff,,, but don't worry, I hear our government is arranging with the US government to keep more of it south of the border, some about fair trade, and global equalization.
  19. So there is love in you heart after all, I just knew we would see it one day.
  20. When I read the post, I thought OhOh, now where am I going,,,,,,Phueeee, I can stay put, guess I'm not that bad after all.
  21. That was an awesome show of control, and knowing how to ride. I might someday,,, but it's going to take a year or two,,,,or ,,,,,,,,,,,
  22. So where is this place called Texas,, seems there are some people that live there,,,,it just can't be anything like ONTARIO though. Ontario is home, it has four seasons, people come from all over just to be here and say they've been here, and it's got to have the best of everything. I could go on and on, but I have important things to do and I don't want everybody coming here to live, we have enough nuts here already.
  23. lewiiiiiiiiiisssss
