There was a thread (I couldn't find it again until after I posted this) where a member claimed a seemingly unbelievable distance travelled in a 24 hour period. I did some research and I was convinced that the truth was being stretched. I called him out and basically called him a liar. (I called "BS") He was good enough to PM me with details and collaborating evidence proving that he certainly did accomplish that amazing ride! So...once again I find myself apologizing for shooting my mouth off. Miles, I am very sorry to have insulted you and for publicly casting doubt on your word. You know....I really am a nice guy! I just seem to hide it well.

We've got a TV shoot with Discovery Channel coming up on Tuesday December 6th for any of you that want to get your mug/bike/car on TV. Just come on out to the Gap and they will be shooting us shooting you all going by. We need some subject material! And it would be nice to have a mix of bikes, so don't be shy about bringing out your cruiser/touring bike/dual-sport whatever. Keep it sane, they're just looking for casual riding/driving and we don't need the place portrayed a tool's paradise any more than it already is. Go to killboy.com

These next few posts were sent to me by one of my oldest friends, a 20 yr. Marine. Marine Rules 1.Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one. 2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough. 3. Have a plan. 4. Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won't work. 5. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet. 6. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a '4.' 7. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life isexpensive. 8. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral & diagonal preferred.) 9. Use cover or concealment as much as possible. 10. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours. 11. Alwayscheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one in which you lose. 12. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber,stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived. 13. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating your intention to shoot.

I don't know if anyone else here has been following, or is aware of the road rage shooting case that has played out over the last year in Southern Indiana. I and several of my riding friends have kept up with it pretty closely, and have had some emotional conversations around it. I see from another post that Jethroish posted on it in June '08 and there was some discussion then. The jury convicted her today and she's looking at 6 to 20 yrs. Also, she had at least 2 previously reported incidents where she pulled her gun, one at a ball park and another in traffic near the same area where the shooting occured, which could not be presented at trial but can be at sentencing. While I've never felt "invincible" while riding, I have taken the opportunity, as I'm sure several have, to express my displeasure at the inattentive, and seemingly arrogant-toward-bikes drivers. I feel that Wesley Mosier, the guy that was shot, made one almost-fatal mistake, he got off the bike and confronted her about the incident. But it could just as easily happened as a roll up too. Shooting in Butte, Montana Butte, Montana November 5, 2007 Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest. Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants.......and she wins, she is still alive. Now that is Gun Control ! Thought for the day: Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"

If you smell smoke when behind the windshield of a 1st gen.....Consider that it's not the 18 wheeler in front of you and investigate. As a side note. If you reduce your speed to below 40 mph while 2 foot flames are shooting out of your dash, you won't burn your chin. I wonder if I would have smelled it sooner without the full face helmet on.
