  1. Just let us know what we can do,,, and we'll see how we can help out.
  2. Just to let you all know, TODAY, 25 YEARS AGO, WAYNE & ROBIN TIED THE KNOT. :happy65: They plan to celebrate by going on a ride,,,, they've had quite a ride so far and it seems they've enjoyed it very much, but tonite it's a MC ride. Join us if you like. I suppose it'll be up to me again to decide where to ride to, but we are riding from Marcarl's I guess. After all it is Tuesday and my knee has had enough relaxation, and Scamper is biting at the bit. So CONGRATULATIONS you two, now for the next 25.
  3. Next thing you know, you guys will be putting on doors and roofs.
  4. Often times you can borrow a tool from your local bike shop\dealer, and can exchange the shimes as well. Depends on the shop, but some are willing.
  5. Yep, let somebody else do the work for you. It's only going to be a bigger fight with more underhanding if you try to do this yourself. Life is more important than money, although I'm not discounting the importance of the funds, but you have some living to do, and that's not going to happen if you are constantly fighting with your x, but it will be hard to grow your present relationship with a battle going on.
  6. Planning an all day ride from Mono Mills to Kitchener. We'll start at 9 am in Mono Mills, visit Thornbury at the far North and end at the Pioneer BBQ for dinner. I haven't got all the kinks out of the plan yet, but that is the basic idea. The country is picturesque, and the roads are great. If the suns shines we'll ride, if it rains, maybe we'll just join Swifty at the Pioneer for dinner. I'll post this on the calendar as well, so that we can get a count on numbers. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=146&day=2009-9-7&c=1
  7. Can't say I'd try to fix a crack like that with duct tape.
  8. The other thing to cause this to happen would be that you have the MC too full and when the fluid expands from the heat of the engine it will actually prevent the full release of the clutch, but that only happens when the engine is hot. If you still have air in the system and it is stuck down below, this may happen sooner, but I think you have found the solution.

    Road Rage

I remember hearing stories from not that long ago, that if you looked the wrong way at some one in the bar, you were asked to step outside and see to your iron. If not an iron then often a fist was coming your way. More folks got shot than we'll ever know. Maybe things are getting better after all,,, but then, maybe history is starting to repeat itself again.
  10. Oh darn, guess you didn't get the email,,,,now it's too late,,,,, have to plan how to deal with you now,,,,, maybe there's a corner somewhere,,,,kind of not noticeable Ok guess that won't work,,, Looking forward to seeing you again Charlie. There, is that better???
  11. You should have seen my face when I was typing that,,,,,,,,,nah,,,, on second thought, maybe you'all better stay away, at least then you can think just what what I look like.
  12. I'll not reply to that because it is your Birthday.
  13. We got some clouds about 6:15 pm, then the lights went out, and it was dark. Lights came back on, but the big light had burned out or something, because it was still dark, then we got some wind and the wet stuff,,,, lots of wet stuff,,,, then more wet stuff, it was coming down so fast it was getting in each others way and plugged up the downspouts. Lasted for about 30 minutes, then we were BBQing just as planned.
  14. The only thing I can suggest at this point, is the soldering. Did you remove the old solder and put on new stuff,,, that might be the answer.
  15. I really think spoked rims would be a better choice for you Charlie. It would require lots more cleaning time and so less opportunity to get yourself in some trouble.
  16. Just read this last night,,,, you all have our prayers for a speedy recovery, both physical and mental. It's going to take some time to get over the mental pictures, cars coming from the side,,,etc. Be patient with it all. Sure hope the insurance comes through for you as well, so that finacial won't be a strain.

  18. I will warn all you 'good' folk!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a family site and dissing other members will not be tolerated. We want to keep things friendly here, so you all may want to print a retraction of the nasty things you inferred about little ole me. Posts have been deleted in the past, and I would not like to see one of Annie posts, or the complete thread deleted because of such nasty comments that have come out here lately. I will bring this to the bosses attention,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and then he can laugh as well. By the way Annie, that's an awesome machine!!!!!
  19. It's always worth the $500.00, even if it's just parts. To fix the tranny could be as simple as repairing or replacing the cog thingie by the clutch, to taking out the engine to replace the thrust washer and straight cutting the gear. Most you'll probably 'spend' will be in labour, but your out of pocket could be in the area of $500.00 max.
  20. Best keep Bubba in the business, last I understood he was\is the cause of needing a maintainance day at Freebirds. If he's now fully employed there maybe a need for two or three such time during the year.
  21. Neat O. Thought you had more to stick in that bra than just one tank,,, but if that's all you got,,,,that's all you get.
  22. Posted it for you, hopefully someone will jump in soon. Maybe post a phone# so they can call you. Carl
  23. I hate to hijack Freebirds post but I cannot post a new thread. I am in Carlsbad nm and bike will not start. How do I find out if we have any members here without going through all the list? also can bike be boosted? I am on the 2000 mm. When I prwess on starter button it just clicks and speedometer guage goes from right to left each time switch is pressed. any help is appreciated. thanks bossman
  24. Marca and I will on occasion go out at 10 pm or so when it's full moon. An awesome time to ride for the passenger, but the rider needs to have extra eyes for deadkill as well as those wannabetobekill.
  25. It's easy, but I have not done it personally: Get a propane torch, run some propane into the tire after it's on the wheel, stand back a little and light the propane, pronto, it's beaded. Better to use less propane than too much, you can always do it the second time if need be if you used too little. If you used too much, you may have more issues.
