It's always hard to loose a friend,,,, but then if they weren't hard to loose, I guess they wouldn't have been too much of a friend. You have my sympathy. Don't let this get you down, he went in a wonderful way, ful of life one moment, and then,,,,gone,, for him it was just awesome.

Never too many messages. Now I can kind of get the feeling what it's like to be called Dan or something. There's the scoot, everything ready except the clean up, trailer all ready to hook on and load, kitchen table is being used for sorting what goes and what stays,,,,Marca says: you did say you're taking the trailer, right,, I mean so, that what all this stuff is for,,glad I wasn't going to pedal that scoot. Actually, she does real well and she hasn't put anything too far away just yet, but I got to be good to go, or it just ain't safe, and safe comes first. Thanks for all your prayers, and if God will be compassionate and He makes a miracle happen, then we'll be on our way. Really I would like both, to personally witness a miracle and to be able to join all you folks and tell you all about it. Doctor said, doesn't look like anything is broke, it's just bruised up real good,, well that was a confirmation. I could have told him that. After I went for my 'slide' into third last night, I got up, and seeing as I was the third out,,,,got two home in doing so,,,,I walked to the dugout, got my glove, and walked out to the mound, threw 3 warmup pitches and then got 2 people out and one on first. It was then that I decided that the knee was feeling a bit funny and wasn't bending so right, so I called for a replacement pitcher and I went to doctor myself. Don't think I would have done that had something been broke. As I'm sitting here and talking with Marca, we now realize that the injury is not the knee, but more likely a muscle that runs up from the knee, and it's causing all the turmoil, but making the knee swell so you tend to treat the bad looking part,,, right? Maybe now things will improve, with the ice on a different location. We'll see, it's been less than 24 hours, and I expect to be walking already again,,, maybe just a little impatient. If ya'll want to come to visit, now's the time,,,,,,I'm not going anywhere, so I should be home,,,maybe,,,depends,,,,, wonder if they have enough pitchers for tonite,,,nah,,, they can do without me,,,,,but I do have the experience,,,,,,I'll be home, and I don't mind scooters in the driveway. See what happens when I got nothing better to do,,,,,,I can go on and on and,,,,,,,,

I had a Lowrance XOG, and now have a Garmin Zumo 660. if it weren't for the screen size and being able to see it in bright daylight, I'd would take the Xog back anyday. Oh ya, it also does not accept other routes very well, or I just can't figure it out. You can go to the Garmin site and compare all the units there are. You can put in your choices and then it eliminates all the things you can't have if you make that choice. Kind of neat actually. and really helpful. If you want waterproof, it's the Xog, or if it's Garmin, it's the Zumos your looking for. I do like the 660 but it's going to take a little getting used to after the flexablity of the Xog.

I'd say it would be better mounted on a 1st gen,,, but then that's only my opinion. -
Just goes to show you that the Lord of heaven and earth does have control, even over the trees.!.! Tough on the family and friends though, but what a way to go, one minute you're healthy and vibrant and the next you're in the land of perfection. No slow degration, sickness, pain or anything else like that. Guess it would be good planning, to live every minute as our last. Best be on good terms with our Maker before the tree falls.

I'd say,,,,and here we go again,,,but then it's rallytime so it's 'llowed,,,,right???? the 2nd genners don't usually need to do it because they can hear their scoots running,,,now if you is on a 1st gen, that's a different story altogether. Another reason is that if you have Hal as road captian and you is the tailgunner, you knows exactly when he's ready to take off, so that you can then begin to herd the rest of them back inline. Well it sounded good when I thought of it,,, or maybe I just like to 'hear' myself talk.

You might have lost the little rubber o-ring that sits at the bottom of the diaphram cover. You also may have a plugged port, airway, so when you pull the cover clean the ports with some carb cleaner. Seafoam won't help as it only cleans where it can get to, and if something is plugged, it can't get to it. Seafoam also does nothing for airways, so you need to do the carb cleaner thing. I've done 3 1st gens in the last few weeks and it out them back on the road, so, yes, it is an issue and can be fixed. Warm up the scoot, take off the airbox, and then clean all the ports and airways you can find, leave it for a bit and then do it again, maybe use a little low pressure air to help out. This is not what you would call a carb rebuild, does nothing for parts that are worn or out of adjustment, but does seem to clean the important area to get things running again. -
Adjusting the shocks 'on the fly', could be downright dangerous, not only if you do it yourself, but things might also adjust without you having to do much with it, seeing as it's always live. To use the pump for other things, is also not very practical. It's made for a purpose and that means it runs short times, not long times like it would in pumping up a tire, it would over heat and wearout prematurely. The program in the computer will also prevent you from pumping up a tire, it would time out continually, so you would have to override that as well.

Somebody better go with them two, just to make sure they get there, I'm thinking they might leave on the wrong day, show up too late and then leave before the dinner starts,, then again they may end up in Fort Collins, or maybe Kitchener. Any volunteers??

One of our very own VentureRiders made the front page. I would rather have carried on without all this BS, but the regulations being as they are, and the enforcement of them, has forced me into doing things that I would rather leave to others. But here I am, front page, and the stuggle goes on. Please take some time to post your comments. http://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1668423&auth=MICHAEL-ALLAN%20MARION

Charging issue
Marcarl replied to rhncue's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If the battery is running low, so not a full charge, and the cables connections have issues, then if the cables are making contact the battery will draw some amperage but should the terminals loose contact the battery will not draw and therefore the available amperage will all go to the lights. The meter is a volt meter and so will show this, it has nothing to do with amperage, so a fluctuation could be evident. It's a far shoot, but then when it comes to electrical you need to have an open mind and think outside the box. There is no guarantee that the meter is a good working one, so can only be taken as an indicator anyways. -
As some of you know, we, the local butchers in Ontario are having a struggle with our government. I was interviewed with Alison Crawford from the CBC and that was aired on Tuesday last week. http://podcast.cbc.ca/w6_20090714_2100.mp3 She also did a pod cast which you can read and comment on. I would sure love to see as many comments as possible, doesn't matter that you live in Austrailia or the north pole, I don't think that they check that close, but numbers count. I should have posted this sooner, but it just accured to me now, so better late than never I suppose. We have one day left to send the numbers over board. Thanks for your help,, I hope they have room for 6000 comments. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/07/15/f-meat-inspection.html

Heyyyy,,,,I resemble that remark......but I agree. Also have an interview done on the web with Alison Crawford. We could use some comments there, so put in your two cents worth even though it might not say much. In this case numbers count. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/07/15/f-meat-inspection.html

Yep, What he said, and if that don't fix it, post again. While you're at it, clean your battery terminals as well and make sure they are tight. -
