  1. My back is not the best this morning, so weather or no weather, we staying off the scoot. All are welcome to come and enjoy some company here though. I'll be trying to smear some paint on an old box for a new trailer, and the more that are here the more I can blame a crap job on somebody else,, if it turns out good though, I can take the blame for that. I believe Wayne and Robin will be here for the day, so now you all are welcome as well. Lunch will be provided, but you'll have to eat it yourself.
  2. Try giving it a run first, clean out the old fuel, run through some new fuel with Seafoam or some kind of cleaner. When you got that done, drain the bowls (probably best before and after) then try the sync again.
  3. My guess would be float settings, unless the choke cable is routed wrong and causing problems,,,'course that is a wild shoot
  4. What do you mean TOMORROW?????? The night's still young, tomorrow can wait!!!!!!
  5. Is the GPS set for FM transmit or for direct out.
  6. Now that sounds like a challenge to me,,, go get 'im Charlie!!!!!
  7. So we have plan. We ride!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe just down the drive, or over to get IceCream,,,,,,,but we could cage it,,,,,,look kind of funny though with all the leather and helmets attached. Need to paint a trailer, if it rains, could be done, need to do more things around the house,,,,need to find a stud or two to satisfy my wifes wishes,,,,,need to put up some shelves,,,,,,have to find a good place to eat after a whole day off and doing nothing,,,,,,,,my luck the weather will clear in the evening and we'll have to go see what all the noise is about at the distant neigbours,,,,,,hopefully my back will be more flexible by morning,, fixed the seat on Scamper today so Marca's butt will sit longer and better,,,,,,still have to install it, only takes but a minute,,,,had enough rain for now,,, maybe tomorrow we ride,,,, gotta ride,, last time was Sunday,,I'm having withdrawals,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  8. Forecast is not good, was good last night, now this morning it's back to rain,,,,,,my back is not good either, but we'll see what tomorrow brings, either way the date is still on until tomorrow morning,, for me anyways.
  9. Probably China, you know it can't be very big,,,,,,,, and the wheels have to be small and carry a lot of weight. Tires need to have deep grooves to get through all the BS,,,,, steering will be loose as usual,,,,,,, there's probably no headlight, kind of useless anyways the the rider drives,,,,,,,brake lights don't help none either,,,,,,,do I need to go on??
  10. If that's what a Wing can do, there should no longer be a question about the RSV. PERIOD...
  11. Better keep Blackie under cover, could get a little dirty.
  12. All I can say is WOW!!!!!
  13. Was good to meet you, as well as all the others, next time stay longer and eat more.
  14. Next thing would be to unplug the attenna from the radio and the CB and then see if you still have some noise, or else drop it by and we'll pull it apart and then see what happens. There are also noise filters that do both the ground and the positive, maybe get one of those and hook it in.
  15. I thought you had a real bike,,,,,,,,,now what did you go and do????????????
  16. So why don't we plan on leaving Tuesday night, over night at some cheap dump and then ride away from it all day Wednesday and end up looking at some fireworks in the evening. So OK, all my ideas aren't the best, so I don't mind if you trash one or two.
  17. Ya I remember running a red light once,,well maybe once at a time,,, guess it's not just old guys who can do such a thing,,,,maybe keep an eye on the younger ones as well.
  18. Here's some fresh pictures
  19. Fuse block could be your problem, is on a lot of 1st gens. Check the tension on the fuse holders, those little brass things that hold the fuse in place while in the fuse block and are supposed help to transfer the electrical current from one side of the block to the other. As they get old they loose their tension and could break off altogether and the signs of the times are that you start to have sparatic electrical issues that fix all by themselves it seems. Take a look, pull out the fuse and squeeze the ends together, you may find that they break off. Replace the block is the answer.
  20. I went to my local CB store, picked up two flat aluminum truck mounts, the extended type, cut the one off and welded the pieces together. If you need a picture I'll see what I can do. I now have the clamped part to fasten onto the trunk rack, extended out past the trunk, with the hole all ready for an attennna. A little more money than what needs to be spent, but it works good and looks just fine.
  21. What's the scoop, you don't like eating good food??????? wouldn't have thought that 2 weeks ago, but now you got me wondering,,, oh you fixed it,,,,,that's better.
  22. Maybe a slight correction here Tom I should have let Dana off and then tried it. You are right. But I like what condor suggested. I should have stopped, let her off, and then just backed up and turned around. Just glad it wasn't nay worse. God Bless Carl /
  23. I have a metal rod that I use just for that purpose. I have ground it down square and a little angled to do the job. it's long enough to be able to reach the nuts and so get a good tap on it. I use a mallot, about 2 lbs I think, that way I can wack more with less impact, if you know what I mean. Also, make sur you are on the lower part of the nuts, not on the top nut. Wack a couple of times and you should see some movement. Also, your steering should be fully turner to the right, right up against the stop, so that it is solid against your hammering.
  24. Try a different set of shoes or boots, or maybe make some adjustments to your shifter pedal.
  25. I find that if I install them I have to look twice, once in the reg mirror and then another look in the fisheye, oh ya and then I remember to do a shoulder check as well, tooo much time to do a check for my comfort, so I just do a shoulder check, it's quick, easy and accurate and I don't have to worry. Guess that's why they were so heavy on that at rider's training.
