  1. Does this mean you two are attending?
  2. hummm tool box, spare parts box,,,,,,,,,,,,you sure it's a Venture Trailer??????
  3. As always we pray for the whole family. May God be with you Vic, enjoy being held in His hand.
  4. I maybe the right age, but I know someone who would be just right perfect, and he has no hair.!!!!!
  5. The noise filter is in the connector going to the radio coming from the bike, it may not be there, so you can pick one up at your local electronics store. I'd be more worried about the attenna, seeing as it's powered, try unlpugging and see what happens, you'll loose any reception you do have, but does it change the whine. if it does, it'd replace it with a $20.00 from the same store. Good Luck keep us posted Carl
  6. First off, do you have a CB installed? Second, do you have any headsets installed. Third, the radio needs to have a good ground. It grounds through the mounts where it mounts to\through the faring. If you're not sure you can always add another ground wire from the amp\radio case. The attenna must also be well grounded. Take it off and check to make sure that it's grounded and the contact surfaces are clean. Now the attenna wire in the middle should only be going to the attenna, there can be no way it can go to ground. Check your attenna lead to make sure it's not broke or wore through somewhere. Try to route it so that it doesn't follow the frame for more that 6 inches. You might not have the noise filter in the power lines, so you might try that as well.
  7. Can't you at least wait until I get there, still trying to figure out the directions,,,,not so easy you know,,,,,how old do you have to be to be suckered into this anyways????
  8. Now I'm glad I didn't see this thread until today,, that way I can set you all straight as to what you really should do and as to how it really can be done. Best thing to do first is to throw away the owners\repair manual. Mostly the language is wrong, pictures never show exactly what you are looking for and when you need info, they went and put it on the wrong pages,, never mind that you remember having seen it before, it ain't there now,,,, so they're playing with you when you are in the most direst need of good solid well explained information. Best thing after that is to chuck all your metric tools down the road, you'll notice all your neighbours fighting over them and you'll have a hoot. Reason to through them out is that they usually don't work well anyways, better to use imperial tools, they're made in America, RIGHT?, that way you have an excuse to through out more tools and enjoy watching the neighbours again. That leaves you then with a couple of very important handwrenchs, the one being a hammer, and the other a vicegrip. Now you're ready to change your oil......do I need to say more??????
  9. I agree, so that means either no Vision, or no beard,,,,now that's a thought.
  10. My heartfelt feeling for your father-in-law, and for Erica as well, there may be some tough bends in the road ahead. Let us know when these times arrive and we'll pray for strength and patience for you all. As for your daughter, the only reason she wants to wait 2 years, is so that daddy can collect enough funds for the wedding. Be proud of her, she's got you in her mind all the way, she doesn't want you going into debt for this thing, so start collecting as much as possible so that you won't have to borrow,,,,,,let's see if I can help,,,sell the Wing, sell the car,,rent out the house,,,,no more vactions,,,,oh?? I'm not helping out?????? well,, keep us posted as to how you're doing.
  11. Good to hear that you went to see him, you may be the best part of his recovery yet, keep up the visits. Carl
  12. If there is a whole in the back of the mic, try blocking it with some soft firm material, such as cork. If there is a lot of room on the front of the mic, try blocking some of that off.
  13. Yep, sure looks blue alright,, be able to see you coming from 5 miles away,, good thing too, for blue has been pro-ported to be fast,,, reeeeally fast,, not as nimble as brown, and maybe a bit slower on the takeoff,, but still fast enough to make some think that they are fast. Enjoy it Lonna, and make sure he rides it nicely and doesn't get it dirty.
  14. I'll have to go back and read my training instuctions, but I remember being taught for E-braking: jam on the rear, don't worry about it, you have enough other things to consetrate on, so lock it up and consetrate on steering balance and the front brake, just don't lock up the front, or you'll high side. Corner braking was practised as well, when in a curve, hit the brakes, straighten up the scoot and bring the scoot in a straight line, all in one motion as the bike slows. Everything is done progressively except the rear brake, that goes on and stays on. Haven't had any real experience with all this except for practice, but this comes from racing riders, I suppose they might have a better understanding of the issue than me. So for now it's just in my brain, and hopefully will be there when reaction is needed.
  15. Did an interview with CBC Ottawa last week Friday and it aired yesterday at 6 pm, in the News at Six segment. Thought I would post this as some of you would be interested. The item starts about 3\4 way through the mp3 file, so just move the slider until you find it. http://podcast.cbc.ca/w6_20090714_2100.mp3 You can also join our group on FaceBook: Save the Country Butchers
  16. Guess there is a good reason to be called a Canuck, it's just across the border, weather is about the same, we're on the same latitude as California, we do have some nice people over here,,, you can work here,,however,,do you want pay as well? and we do have houses to live in, along with teepee's and igloos,,,,,, the sun comes up in the morning and goes down in the evening, so you should feel at home,,, the government leaves you alone mostly, until they discover that you have something good on the go, and then they only want a small piece of it,, like yesterday, and then when they have their's they make sure they screw things up so that you have more reason to work... All that aside, we are going to miss the cheesecake, and the company, but you'll still be around because of this site. If there is anything we can do to be of less assistance, just let us know.
  17. So does that mean I can come as well?????? Don't know if I'll have time but we'll see,,, and then it's...will I remember????????? now what was it I had to do first today????????oh ya post a new thread.
  18. Maybe he didn't want to recognize you,,,ever thought of that?????????? Try calling somebody else and see what response you get,,,,,,,,who are you anyways?????? Do you ride a Venture???????????
  19. Yep, can do and do your carbs as well. Bike needs to be running good before you do a sync, carbs should be working properly. I sync with a vaccum gauge, but I use only one gauge, as 4 different gauges will give you 4 different readings. I use a manifold to connect them together. Come on over, I wouldn't really mind meeting you anyways, and mostly I don't bite.. Carl
  20. So how did you torque the clutch basket back on?
  21. You maybe should ask Black Owl, if a name change was worth while. I still think that you're awesome but you'll never get rid of Aussie. Once an Aussie, always an Aussie.
  22. With that much pounding on the steering head, you may have seated it further than was normal, not likely, but it's a shot.
  23. Yep it's common, especially around 28 to 32,000 rpm. Varies in different bikes, either go slower or faster, depends on the road and the passenger. I changed my clutch basket to one from another scoot and nothing changed. Also, if you wear a headset the mic can pick up the noise and make it seem quite unreasonable, so then point the mic up a little.
  24. Sure glad this part is over for you guys, but it will take some time, and maybe never, to be able to put it in the past, lots of prayer still needed for that.
  25. Reef a little harder, then you get the wheelie gear, and boy can she take off,,,,,opps forgot, I was talking about a first gen.
