  1. Too bad for you,,, it's gone. Suppose it's best anyways, seeing as brown has been proven faster of late.
  2. Yep, Yep, Yep and Yep once again. May 29 2010.
  3. Now we need to move,,,,, after 23 years here and raising 6 kids and an influx of 14 grand kids. Can you imagine the stuffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff,,,,,,boxes and boxes and boxes,, and some more boxes,,,,,,and stuffffffffffffff did I mention we're going to be busy???????
  4. We're waiting on the closing to 'deal with the remote issue'. There's enough room for a 'pond' if necessary. We planned on looking at it Wednesday morning, even though it was listed at 259,000. Got a call from my agent just after lunch, and before he could make an appointment, that they had dropped the price by 30 grand. We looked and tooked. It's just the ticket, couldn't have asked for better. They had it listed for 2 months and just wanted to get out,,, NOW,,,,,,,soooooo, we were place at the right place at the right time,,,,, what a Shepherd we have. AWESOME.
  5. Scamper,,, it just seems to fit a first gen. Always ready, eager to go, runs circles around around any in the area,,,, especially other Ventures.
  6. Thought maybe some pictures would be of interest. http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=8551582 Amazing this new web stuff,,,, you can even live in Australia and take a look.
  7. And maybe some more. Finally bought a new stable and a house to go with it. Marca is happy and Eric & family are ready to take over living in the old homestead. Closing is mid October, then some time for refreshments,,,and upgrades,,,,, and then we hope to settle in about mid November. Three car garage with 2 doors, will be lots of room to fix and repair, back yard big enough to make a campgound, with more room in the side yard. Even room for a BBQ. Now where to park some bikes,,,,, maybe the neighbours will like me after all.
  8. Oh I'm just here to through a monkey wrench into all of this,,,, after all June 19 is Father's day,,,,,,don't know if that matters,, but I expect everybody to bring ME a father's day present. I wouldn't worry too much about the trustees of the Oberlin though, we could sleep somewhere else,,, and don't they have a meeting every year? The Oberlin would be nice though, it's a good place to be.
  9. Carl has a meeting tonight, can't squeeze out of this one,, but Wed or Thurs are maybes
  10. Oh boy,,, just by this post you opened up a whole can of worms,,,, we don't have our heads in SAND around here you know.
  11. It won't hurt a thing, other than to make things dirty. If it starts to really leak bad, you'd better keep a close eye on the oil level. You can do the work, it'll take some time but you can do it, we'll help you on line if need be. Do them all at the same time, the cost isn't that great. While you have the covers off it would be a good time to check valve clearances. So give yourself some hours of relaxation and contentment working on your own scoot.
  12. Look what I found in my driveway last night when I got home. I'll let you guess the year. Really nice shape, maybe it's a gift,,,,, but I can't find the keys. Buddy thinks it's alright as well.
  13. This is what I've done with my 85. Added LEDs, in the trunk, under the tail light, on the back and the sides of the trailer hitch. Also replaced the 1157s in the tail light with 1157 leds from Superbright, and then added a flat panel set of lights which I glued to the reflector section in the center of the tail light for brakes.
  14. Well did you get stuck????
  15. Well the Memorial day weekend is one weekend after our Victoria Day weekend. Now in the past,, for as long as the past has been, there has been a Meet & Greet, now called a Venture In, at Marcarl's the weekend after the Victoria Day weekend, so that would explain why I felt such pain, when I started reading this thread. When I go it all figured I realized I might not even be in attendance at Marcarl's Venture In.............but that seems to be changing now, so maybe I'l get to be at both.
  16. Thanks, this'll be a great tool.
  17. I can't really say for sure what fixed it for me, but it was either the wheel bearings or the upper forks adjustment, or both. It wouldn't take much in either case to cause this issue. The allowed movement in the bearing may not be able to be felt just by wiggling the front wheel, and if the fork height is out just slightly it could also contribute to the problem simply by having the scoot leaning of to one side to start with.
  18. Had that same problem with my 85, and Wizard with his 84. He installed Metzlers and fixed the issue, he was running brand new Avons. I was also on a new rear Avon and so changed to another new one but had the same problem, so I went to Dunlops and still had an issue. Interesting thing was, that once I put a passenger on the back, everything went as well as expected. So last winter I pulled the whole front end apart, started with new wheel bearings. When I put it back together, everything went back together lose first. I then snugged up the front axle, then tightened the fork brace, I then checked the level of the forks in the triple tree and tightened them in and then I finished with the torque on the axle. All is now happy happy, but I still haven't worn out the Dunlops so that I can try the Avons again.
  19. I really think I would blame the kick stand switch. I know you have 2 replies so far, but I think I'm right, so first check out the kick stand switch.
  20. That's kind of what I was thinking,,, I'm glad you feel the same way. And thanks for doing this,,,,,, bet it kept you busy for a while.
  21. Just recieved the units shipped here, 7 all told, so that would be 5 for me and one for Wayne and one for Ben. Now let's see, if there was 2 broken ones, who would they belong to. No real fear though, I do have 2 extra to sell them if need be.
  22. Isn't it awesome to have a Father with promises He can keep?????
  23. Boy, next time I take my own camera,,,,,,, no pictures at alll???????????, maybe have to invite a photographer next time and then find someone who knows how to post this stuff on the site.
