  1. For the last week I've been on vacation and have done quite a bit of riding and I have been observing the water temperature guage that I recently installed. The temperature doesn't seem to be very stable. Sometimes when cruising 60 mph it will hold at 185 and a while later it will be at 200, cruise on a while longer and it will drop back to 190. At first I just thought it was the thermostat cycling but it may hold the temperatures for 30 minutes or more. In the cars and trucks that I have owned the temperature is always very stable at cruising speeds. Have any of you with guages noticed this type of temperature swings? My guage is an electrical guage. Dennis
  2. Bought my old 84 again today.3 ventures are too many so I will probally sell the 84,but for now it is back in the stable.
  3. All I can say is "WOW"!!! The front end doesn't float over bumps any more and it's much more stable at parking lot speeds. (not to mention my feet now touch the ground)
  4. Driving down the street and passed another toy. Took all of 30 minutes to check it out, and now it's in the stable.....
  5. It looks really interesting and stable but they allude to tie downs and adapters ?? http://liftsandstands.com/
  6. Attached are a few pics of a new pair of Stable Mates. A '91VR, and a 99RSV. The '91 has been around a while but zero riding time due to 'issues'. The '99 was added last Wednesday but it had to wait a bit before coming off the trailer due to there being no room at the inn. A spot finally cleared yesterday, and the '99 is now tucked in to it's new home. Finding the '99 very difficult when taking off from a stop and not find the foot pegs where they should be.... old habits are hard to break...., plus I'll need to figure out how to widen the bars to be more comfortable. So far no warts have appeared, but will keep a sharp eye out for any signs of them showing up....
  7. And maybe some more. Finally bought a new stable and a house to go with it. Marca is happy and Eric & family are ready to take over living in the old homestead. Closing is mid October, then some time for refreshments,,,and upgrades,,,,, and then we hope to settle in about mid November. Three car garage with 2 doors, will be lots of room to fix and repair, back yard big enough to make a campgound, with more room in the side yard. Even room for a BBQ. Now where to park some bikes,,,,, maybe the neighbours will like me after all.
  8. I mounted my c/t today. I took the bike out for a little spin to try it out. The ride was smoother and the handling seemed more responsive. It did feel different though, not bad, just different. There is a lot more rubber meeting the road and slow speeds felt more stable.
  9. Hey yall, I've added another bike to the stable. It's a new (to me) '87 Kawasaki Concours with 33k mi I picked up on Ebay. I got it to play in the twisties and commute to work on weekends when I don't ride in the van pool. I live 98 mi from my work. I've already racked up 22k mi on my 07 RSV. The Concours is a nice bike but it sure will make you appreciate the comfort of the RSV!-Jack

  11. So I guess it's time I told the story about Scamper. Back in 2005, a long time in motorcycle years, Scamper was brought to his present village. Many where the well wishers and the oglers that attended to view this specimen, extraordinare. His colours shone, his chrome was set to sparkling, and his footing was sure:happy65:. Always was he ready for all that was required, rain or sunshine. Scamper loved his new home. He was proud, not only to carry his master from place to place, but when the time came he was more than ready and very able to carry both his master and his masters companions. But as the season wore on, the days began to get colder and the time soon came that Scamper was housed in his stable to undergo some general maintenance and a much needed and deserved face lift. New safety items were added, new footwear was installed, and some new sparkle completed the resting season. The warmer temperatures and drier atmosphere created ideal conditions for Scamper and his riders, so that all were able to enjoy many miles of freedom and relaxation. But alas, the temperatures again did drop, and the clouds returned and once again Scamper was put into his stable to endure the winter. PICTURE#1. He did complain some, about having to spend so much time alone, that a companion was sought to be with him and keep him from getting lonely:cold:. In due time a Wizard was found and with him a companion with good looks, and a blonde complexion. These two now spent their time together in the same stable. PICTURE#2.It took some time for them to get acquainted, but then one day as I went out to check up on them and to make sure they were not as some ventures are known to do, I noticed that the Blonde was not in her usual berth. Much to my surprise she had moved to an intimate position and seemed to be much taken by the now very pleased Scamper:think:. I didn't think too much of it and thought to let them spend some time together, seeing as seemed to be a thing of the past and better relations were on the way. Just how much better became evident some time later, when again I went to do a daily check and :shock3:PICTURE#3.
