  1. Congratulations to both of you. Sue and I wish you all the best.
  2. Here's the deal, Old Hippy wanted Squidley to help him install new SS brake lines, we live halfway between the two so everybody met here. Brad and Lonna and Chuck and Nancy all got here Friday evening. By 11:00pm we had Chuck's 92 VR all stripped down and ready for work. Saturday we installed new SS brake lines and seviced the driveshaft and rear pumpkin. 93 Venture and Pumpkin (Darrin and Deb) came over to join in the fun too. It was a great weekend, upgraded Chuck's bike and had some social time to enjoy our friend's company. It was raining lightly when Chuck and Nancy left so we got to check out their new rainsuits (as you can see from the pics, it would be hard to not see them). The only downside to this weekend was that I found sidewall cracks in my rear tire while checking the pressure. Avon Venom made in 2006 then we found cracks in Chuck's rear tire, not on the sidewall but in the tread, Avon Venom made in 2006, actually made a week apart from mine. So I'll have a new rear tire on this week. I only had about 3500 miles on this tire kept at 50 lbs. psi.
  3. Very nice setup. Triking the Venture looks very nice. I've seen Jerry's and Larry's close up and it's very impressive. Maybe someday when I get.....OLD! Hope to see you on the road sometime this summer.
  4. Whoooooooo? Welcome back to your old self Russell.
  5. That's the lowest price I've seen on them. Ebay's been running from $211 to $230.
  6. We had the Butler mod done to our seats last September before we rode to Memphis for the St. Jude run. My 06 Black cherry has the Midnight seats on it. They weren't terrible before the mod but after we could and did ride all day with no discomfort at all. We put on 1310 miles that weekend and weren't sore at all. In fact on Sunday we rode from Nashville TN all the way back to Elkhart IN, almost 500 miles. Before we would have been sore for a couple days after riding like that for a weekend, with the mod neither of us had any problem at all. As Mariner Fan said it's comfortable right away, no moving around finding a good position. My wife and I were very impressed and feel that this is a very worthwhile mod and pretty cheap to boot. By the way I am 6 foot and at that time weighed about 285 lbs.
  7. Those are good. We got ours off of Craigslist. Use Searchtempest.com and you can search a wider area.
  8. Like Ken said congrats on the new ride. I like the Blue/Black but the Black Cherry is the BEST!
  9. We started m/c camping in 2006 at Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. Had all of our gear on the bike. Didn't like that and bought a used Bushtec trailer for the gear, camped at the big rally in Colorado in 2007 for a week. That was better. Last summer we bought a 1994 Bunkhouse camper on a steal, sold the Bushtec, that paid for the Bunkhouse. We used that in Canada last year for the rally. Much better. You can see pics in my gallery.
  10. We've said much the same thing here at work. If they gave the people the money it would work out much better.
  11. Brad, Hope everything turns out ok. You're all in our thoughts. Don't eat too much fast food while she's gone, not good for the diet.....
  12. hey Jeff, That might be interesting. What kind of designs would he be capable of? I guess I'm interested......
  13. I've lost about 17 lbs. so far, a little over half of my goal. Shouldn't be a problem by June.
  14. So when have you rode 400 miles to a Meet & Eat? One way, not round trip? And how come you wouldn't let me have any more quarters? That was just plain mean. :rotf::rotf::rotf:
  15. Hey Brad, It's only 400 miles from here to Kitchener, so when you coming to see me? Oh yeah, make sure you bolt your license plates on so you can cross the border. Darrin? Crossing a border? We can't hardly get him out of indiana let alone out of the country! :rotf::rotf:
  16. Or you can ride to any Meet & Eats you can and see how they are. I've not only ridden 400 miles to a Meet & Eat but have run my own up to 200 miles away from my home. Just depends on how you want to do it.
  17. If you don't see much happening in your area you can do something about it! Pick a date, a time and a place, maybe a ride afterwards. Post it in the Meet & Eats section and see who shows up. A couple of us have tried to kickstart some things here in Indiana. Just do it and you'll have a good time, my first one we only had 4 bikes but it was a great time. Last fall for the same ride we had 14 bikes and a Miata show up.
  18. Hey Bill, It looks like Wrongway (AllanH) is coming and Old Hippy and Nance56. You'd have to check on the calendar to see if you know anyone else from down that way.
  19. Yeah, what he said, we missed you and Cindi last year. Got a hitch on that wing so we can go camping? Darrin might even want to try again.....NOT!!!!! Anytime you're ready to ride Chuck, just let us know. Very glad to see ya back.
  20. The Timeout is comparable to the Aspen or Bunkhouse. Your Venture will pull it easily enough. I pull a Bunkhouse with no problem. Timeouts are made here in Elkhart and have become a very popular model.
  21. Right now we're planning: April - Thunder Over Louisville May - Memorial Day weekend in Kentucky June - Don's MD August - International rally Plus a lot of weekend riding in Indiana and Michigan, probably involving some camping with the camper we bought last year.
  22. Probably a good thing I still have the 90 in the garage huh?
  23. Sorry to hear it Dan. It's very bad over here in Elkhart. So far my company is hanging in there but you never know anymore. Hope the best for you and Lina.
  24. Glad to see you're doing good Jeff. I had my first cortisone shot in my left knee just before Thanksgiving. It's helped the pain a lot (except for the weather changes.....), we'll see how long it helps me out before I have to go further, either arthroscopic surgery or a partial knee replacement, depends how it holds up. Hope it all continues to go well for you.
  25. I'm down 13#, 17 more to go.
