  1. We got home about 7:30pm. Left Squidley north of Fort Wayne about 6:30pm. As others said, it was an awesome meet and tour of the Ronald McDonald house. Met some new people and enjoyed the company of others we've met before. Put a litttle over 1300 miles on the clock and added 3 new states to our map. It was a little bit cool riding but otherwise the weather was great.
  2. Hey Lewis, you forgot Indiana.
  3. Yeah, me too.......
  4. I'll second that! We'll catch you in Memphis!
  5. We're riding in with Bummer and Irene.
  6. Riding first, :group cheers: later!
  7. This is the one I used on my 90, worked just fine.
  8. Hey Bob, Glad you're ok. It's definitely a problem all over the place.Seems like cage drivers don't want to pay attention to the road. i've seen a lot of them with cell phones stuck to their ear and have seen some with DVD players mounted on their dash watching movies. Around here they also like to run stoplights and turn lights after they're red. Makes making left turns interesting. Maybe it's too easy for people to get driver's licenses.
  9. Either Rotella is fine, the dino oil or the synthetic. I've used both in my 90, it still has the synthetic rotella in it. Runs great, seems to shift smoother with the synthetic than with the dino. I'll probably use it in the 06 when it's due. Get it at Walmart for not very much $ in a gallon container.
  10. Then you'd never have it. I'm affording mine just fine too.
  11. I believe it has to do with the density of the foam. It comes in anything from 2lb. on up to 4 or 5lb. Also relies on what layers it's made up of.
  12. Oterwise known as "memory foam". Check out Rick Butler's ad in the classified for seat modification. We have a memory foam mattress pad on our bed, it's comfy but it does retain heat. I'm having Rick redo my seats this week, when I get them back i can let you know how they are.
  13. Sue and I are planning on being there. Coming down Friday and will probably come part way back saturday to get home sunday afternoon. Having Rick Butler modifying my seats, that should be a pretty good test.
  14. Hey Bob, Glad to see you and Ruth had a good time out in Washington. Nice looking family. We're doing this at the end of February when my son gets married. Only have to drive 20 miles or so though. Good to see you made it to a ball game. Hi to Ruthie for us and we'll see you soon. Kevin and Sue
  15. Ok, my boss just gave me $20.00 towards this goal, I'll round that up to $50.00 since I sold some parts from my 90.
  16. I bought my 06 a month and a half ago from Denden here on the site for that amount with quite a few "extras" and only 4600 miles. We've put 2,000 more on her since then and love it. 30K on one of these bikes is nothing.
  17. You should be able to do the job without removing the fairings. I didn't have too much trouble installing mine on my 90. It helps if you have someone helping you. Replacing the spark plug wires at the same time is a good idea too. I did both on mine at the same time and it runs great.
  18. Congratulations and enjoy it. I took class on a 125 3 years ago, bought my first Venture a week later. My first bike ever, after two first gens I bought my 2006 Black Cherry a month or so ago, already have 2,000 miles in on it. They're great bikes, either 1st or 2nd gen.
  19. How about now?
  20. You both have replies.
  21. I just posted some parts and accessories from my 90 VR in the classifieds. There's some good stuff there and it's all in very good shape. In case anyone wants to know, yes, I still have the bike. The buyer backed out and Ebay didn't go far enough. It's still for sale but it's back to stock except for the Progressive springs, stainless steel brakelines and spinon filter. Still a nice ride just minus a few things. Couldn't sell it as a package so I'll sell what I can now and sell the bike in the spring.
  22. Donation sent. Let's move it along and meet the goal.
  23. I have a Markland I just took off of my 90. Looks like new.
  24. We're planning on it. Sue hasn't found out if she can get Friday off yet. If not I might have to ride solo, shhhh, don't tell her I said that.
  25. Check Rivco's website, they have a 5 wire relay. It depends on what kind of trailer you're pulling and what kind of connector you're using. I have both as I pulled a cargo trailer and now have a camper and they use different types of plugs and wiring. Either one is very easy to install.
