  1. I'm kinda in the same boat-- Forgot about the whole "pipes" thing until I tripped over the box on my front step (which we NEVER use!!!! ) Thanks a million Condor for hangin in there!!!!
  2. Hi Jason,

Thats a very nice 87' VR you have there! Ride Safe, Earl and Jean.

  3. I am preparing a "needs" list for my rebuild of my 87 this winter. I'm looking for a hitch. If any one out there has one to spare at a reasonable cost-- please let me know. Also if anyone knows where to get a master rebuild kit (rings, gaskets, etc.) please chime in.
  4. I AM SOOOOO IN ON THIS!!!!! Jack- sign me up! P.S.-- I'm the one MAC called you about- SORRY - I got impatient:whistling: P.P.S.--THANKS A BUNCH FOR DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geezer Glide (Jason)
  5. there is a product out there called " ACRYSOL " made by Kent Automotive Products that is specifically designed to remove adhiesive products. Primarilly used for removing body moldings on cages---- but I've used it for everything from bug and tar remover ( as it does NOT effect paint ) to removing MAJIC MARKER FROM VINYL SIDING!!! (dont ask)
  6. Mine runs at about 1/4 way up when at running temp--- but just like any other girl -- she takes a bit to get her there:rotf:
  7. I'm all ready set... but I have a friend that just got his bike back from the shop for new fork seals--- I'll try to get him in on this!! Let you know Thurs.
  8. I have to agree with the English chap on this one... Our bikes are not getting any younger, and parts may become harder to find as time goes by.... I say if it runs and you have room....
  9. I looked around for some time trying to find that thread--- with no luck (theres A LOT of usefull info on this site!!!!!) After reading the whole thread ( with a clear head ) I think I'm going to pass seeing how several posts- including yours- went back to stock after trying it. However- I do thank you for your help!!!!!!!!! GG:thumbsup:
  10. I was fumbling through last night and found something about changing the vac. line on 1st Gen to match V max. It's supposed to help with low end by equalizing vaccuum between cylinders... or something like that. Does anybody know where to find this thread or the info of which I ask???? Thanx much!! GG
  11. here's some more pics of my carbs set up. not real sure what you mean when you say solid cross over. ive heard of being able to put v max top end on this motor. dont believe this was done but not sure. holes in the air box were taped shut with duct tape. exhaust loads up (popping) collector has been opened previously. like i said, bike came with bag of goodies including K&N, just thought i would install it- found block of swiss cheese for filter top. thanks for response... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/mnharley/DSCF4693.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/mnharley/DSCF4690.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/mnharley/DSCF4694.jpg hope these help
