I saw an interesting product on www.woot.com this morning. If you are not familiar with woot, they sell one product a day for really good prices - generally refurbs and/or overstocks. $5 shipping for anything. I am not associated with woot in any way, just buy things from them periodically. Today, they have a solar battery charger. The description claims it to be a standard charger with float charging technology. Appears to be a 'battery tender' type product that runs on sunlight. Claims to work with gel type batteries also. I thought this might be nice for some folks who store their bikes in sheds without electricity. It is too large to be a travel charger (over 3 feet long). $100 + $5 shipping. Director at gym found out I ride. Son-in-law got big mouth. Anywho he has a hardley softail. Claims the seat kills his softail after a few miles. Claims it has a Corbin on it now. Wants to know if I can steer him towards seat and is the AGM battery for these things the same as a 2nd Gem battery??

The Zero electric motorcycles are becoming more attractive each year. The 2012 street version has a top speed of 88mph and range of 114miles. The battery pack is claimed to be good for 300,000miles and the company claims no routine maintenance is required. They say anyways:rotfl:, even send me a check in the mail, just missed part of my last name:doh:. Obviously they already have my name and address and that is all they are asking for other then talking to their claims agent which I haven't done. Can the 2nd Gen be fitted with a centerstand? Is it a Yamaha item, or aftermarket? Anyone have one? I assumed they did not have one, but there is a 2nd gen on e-bay now that claims to have one. Thanks

I am looking at picking up a 89 VR listed as a parts bike. The guy is asking $600. I have seen it and most of the plastic is junk, seat is ripped. Looks like he left it outside all winter and not covered, not sure. Question is what on the bike would still have to work to make it worth the trouble of buying and stripping down? I cannot see his price at this time, claims new computer last year. I have not hooked up a good battery to see what works or if it really starts. He claims all but the cruise work, and it runs good. I need a few parts to get both of my bikes fully functional, different items between them. Thoughts, opinions would help.
