Understand that I had always thought of getting a motorcycle but for various reasons never did. In early 2005 my older son called and told me that my his brother had bought a crotch rocket and crashed it, he hadn't told his mom, had it hid at a friend's. I called him and we talked about it, I told him I'd pay for him to go to safety class. 3 weeks later I gave him the news, he was going to class that weekend and I was going too! A week later I was looking for my first bike, I had decided that if I was going to ride it was going to be more long distance touring riding. On the way home from work a guy had put out a bike for sale, it turned out to be a 1987 Yamaha Venture Royale, gold. I took it for a ride and bought it on the spot. Over the next year we rode locally but the wife wasn't real excited, the neighbor had been hit by a drunk on his bike and it scared her. She left and the next spring of 06 I bought the 90 two tone blue from a Venturerider in TN. I had joined this site for tech info. Sold the 87 and found Sue, her introduction to the Venture was a 420 mile day. We've put a lot of miles on since and last August bought our 06 Black Cherry from this site. Already put almost 4,000 miles on her before winter and looking forward to a lot more.

I used RotellaT synthetic in the blue jug in my 90, it runs great. I'll be putting it in the 06 in a few weeks. I get it at WalMart for $16.00 per gallon.

Now THERE'S a thought...........:rotf::rotf:

Dan, Knowing you, I bet you're always "skinny dipping"..... :rotf::rotf::rotf:

I agree totally with this. I have a 90 and an 06. My knees didn't like the feet under position for long distance. We liked the 90, we love the 06. It's a matter of personal choice and what kind of riding you do. I don't do a lot of 1 up riding, almost all 2 up, mama likes to ride too.

Obviously you haven't met Dan....... :rotf:

Don't have to choose....lucky me! I have highspeed internet and Youtube has midget videos......

Leadwolf56 replied to Rick Butler's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'll second that! You do great work, we really like our seats now. -
I'll say one thing Gene, you really know how to stir it up! Now pardon me while I and :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

Carl, You can have a BIG hug from Squidley while he's wearing his "V" suit........:rotf::rotf:

Wouldn't THAT be cute, that little "V" suit stretched over 285 lbs. of.....well, er, uh...you know..... :rotf:

I don't know about that buddy. I don't do that kind of thing too often, at least not when I'm leading a group. No one needs to know what happens when we're riding alone, not that I'd make any wrong turns anyway.... But I do understand that the name fits you well so you can keep it. :rotf:

My,my, Cindy, nice job! I've got nothing bad to say as I really don't want to be in next year's calendar........ That pic of Squidley scared the HELL out of me, not to mention Miss December!

Sorry to hear this. Our prayers go out to Darrell's family.

You could try talking to Rick Butler. He has an ad in the classifieds. He does very nice work and is very quick on turnaround.

Glad to see you're back Jack. It'll get better soon, don't ask how I know..... Hope to see you and your lady at some Meet & Eats and/or rallies this summer. Congrats on the new bike too.

Ok, but to make it official at Maintenance Day won't you have to be weighed the same way? :rotf::rotf:
-
I suppose it's actually a visual thing, less "overhang".....:rotf::rotf:

I was just wondering as you're the only one to volunteer to lose 50 lbs. .......... Sue didn't know what "weinerback" was either, I guess I could call Deb and ask her..... :rotf::rotf:
-
I guess I want to know what "weinerback" is? Is it part of an animal? Why would I want an inch of it? Why do you only get "weinerback" in increments of an inch for 50 lbs?

JT, Good to see you back. Take care and as everyone has said, we're all here for you.
