  1. Before this gets too carried away, I have a solution to the argument. Someone in the West needs to step up and volunteer to take charge of the 2010 International Meet. We'll concede the International to them. However, there will be a 5 Year Anniversary meet at Potato Creek. I'll break this into another thread later today. Probably a long weekend meet such as Eureka Springs.
  2. Geez, I thought this thread was for suggested sites and volunteers to plan it. Anyway, didn't mean to insult anyone and as for me, I was in Colorado and Kitchener. Work kept me from Arkansas. Canada? I've been there a few times, no problem. You should remember, you met me in Kitchener......... If we can make it we will, ask anyone who knows how we ride.
  3. oh, I see, that's when we see you..........I'll have to see if the Farmer's Almanac lists when those are.......:rotf:
  4. East of Indy off of 70.
  5. So, this has been bounced around some. If Potato Creek State Park in Indiana is chosen as the 2010 rally site I'll volunteer to head up the committee, 93 Venture and Bummer have already volunteered to help and I'm sure some more of my friends would help too.
  6. Yeah, I know.....
  7. You might check with Bummer, if he doesn't then he would probably know someone close by that does.
  8. I missed that one by about 6 or 7 months, BUT, I've seen the DVD of that meet........that's all I'll say. It would be cool to go back on the 5th anniversary. Not a lot of great riding, it's mostly flat but it could be a great social opportunity, maybe some maintenance, of course there's also ice cream and the end of the day drinking, er socializing, yeah, socializing.....
  9. No, and I told him to watch you when you're around......... I've taken pictures now so when you are out early and "clean my windshield" I'll know if you tried to sneak anything off my bike...... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  10. We just met Barry and Julie tonight. They called from our local Crackerbarrel, we met them for coffee and conversation. Very nice people and a real nice time. Always glad to meet local Ventureriders.
  11. Charlie, You might want to ask Dano, he lives in that area and would most likely know.
  12. Hey Ruffy, You gotta take care of Joe, he's so desperate he borrowed my stock deflectors.......then he wanted my tank badges, who knows what he'll try to get next......
  13. Hey Joe, You'd better ask Donna if she'd want to sit on that back seat, my guess would be, uh, NO! :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  14. So everyone knows, the bike is like new again, found a good painter a mile up the road, he did an awesome job of matching everything up. He even repaired the windshield. Been running it for about 3 weeks now and no problem, seems to be as good as new. he also does pinstriping, artwork, etc. so Midnite Cherri will have a little bit of a new look next spring. I had him leave off the "eyebrows", I like it better, besides it makes more room for what I have in mind. Sorry Peggy, lost track of this thread. Didn't see much of Batesville other than the hotel and restaurant right off the interstate. Too sore at that time to do much else. Besides, all of those caskets........ Again, to those who helped and to those who offered to help, a big thank you, y'all are the BEST!
  15. Now to get her a CB and some safety chrome. She's doing very good with it.
  16. We're planning on going. There are some nice roads and covered bridges there. Since my knee is acting up won't be doing any hiking BUT I'll join you for that follow up drinking and a good campfire.
  17. Seriously (ya right!),glad to see Sue aced her testing (how did YOU do, Kevin?????)and she's got her own bike. I guess we now know who's gonna lead the next ride, right? Actually Dan I missed one question on the written test and had a 95 on my driving test. Not bad for someone who had never ridden before taking class huh? She's welcome to lead the ride, do you think your bike will be running to get here? :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  18. Maybe after she gets used to it. We could have some good picture opportunities.........
  19. Here are pics of Tinkerbell's new bike. A 2000 Honda Shadow ACE 750. By the way, she was the only person in her class to get 100% on the written and driving tests.
  20. Hey, it's not like I posted a picture.........
  21. If I can't find my toga can I wear my thong?
  22. Congratulations Wayne and Robin. Hope you have many more together. Kevin and Sue
  23. No need for that, we'll all call you whatever we can think of, Dano, Vern, Skinny Squidley or my favorite.... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  24. Weird yes, almost as much? Don't think so, waaaaayyyyy more than most of us, especially me.........:rotf::rotf:
  25. Yes, the bike will handle the weight no problem. A lot of us here go over the max weight limit. Put an Avon Venom or Dunlop Elite 3 on the back. They both have 900+ pound weight ratings. We run with loaded bags and sometimes pulling a camper, no problems with handling or stopping.
