  1. Yep sound like my first experience too, but got used to it and I love the forward controls. Just wait after riding a Second Gen a few months, then go ride a First Gen....
  2. I know where a very sharp 86 First Gen with several upgrades completed and a almost new set of E2's mounted, some extra parts including a brand new rear E3 tires, that is FOR SALE in West Virginia for less than that....
  3. There is nothing better then having a big garage to put your toys in. Mine is still work in progress, but I'll get it finished in time....
  4. I think I got a pic of Yammer with one of the young ladies. I won't mention is was only 16 days old..... Not sure what the Warden will say?
  5. Poor Squid, he just can't get along with anyone anywhere!
  6. I got a chance to sit on a new 2010 Honda Fury today. A friend stopped by to show it to me. He sold his HD Road King off and got this Honda recently. Honda definately took a different approach when they created this bike. It uses a 1300 VTX motor and made a very clean look above the motor. The stretched end and gas tank really made for a custom look, along with the 250 rear tire. I wasn't impressed with the puney car horn, but at least Honda did put Dunlop E3's on at factory. There wasn't any marking on the tank which made it hard to recognize at first. Neat looking machine, just not my style in my old age.....
  7. If you're in South Carolina, its probably whats left over from Ida....
  8. Thanks Dave, I'll have to check that out more closely.
  9. I took mine off a few years back, took it up to the Yamaha shop and got it rebuilt for about $60.00.
  10. Everyone has been very nice on this thread. Normally when you mention a Metzeler tire on here its gets nasty. Most members doesn't like Metzelers, and several members has had lots of problems wth them coming part at highway speeds. It has caused a few accidents. Definately add the air, 38 pounds is too low. Inspect and watch the tread closely before riding. I have Metzelers on my bike now because they came on the bike, but that is going to change before spring riding season starts....
  11. I just sent out a large stack of paperwork from my doctors and hospital bills where I've been going throught surgery etc...... I'm glad I done have problems like that. My bills are paid...... I am Blessed !
  12. My brother has been docked around Steamboat Creek riding out the storm, you may jump on ship with him.

  15. Welcome home Clay!
  16. First gens are definately a faster machine and handles a little better, the Second Gen is more like a big comfort creature. Also when its comes to cleaning, the First Gen is a lot easier....
  17. That would be awesome! I've been wanting to go there... Also I like to spend some time on the lake too...
  18. I'd wait till Thanksgiving and ride down to the Outer Banks for turkey with Froggy and ADC if I was retired.
  19. Mostly I hear of them escaping....
  20. Yeah don't rub it in. I'm not as old as you are, so I'm not retired yet....
  21. I got two days of riding on and probably ride to work tomorrow and leave the cruiser in the garage. I'm trying to get these other guys on the road, but its hard when they don't have their priorities straight.....
  22. I knew you had some dirt to move today so I didn't call. I didn't want to get you in trouble with the Warden...
  23. Glad you're enjoying the weather. Looks like another great day for tomorrow too. I got out the last two days myself. I may just have to ride to work tomorrow.... PS: Nice looking scoot...good color!
  24. Another great day of riding. Temperatures reached into the 70's again today. It was a tough decision, buy I decided to slow down today and ride the Second Gen....
  25. Today was a great day. The temp got up above 70 degrees, so I decided to clean a couple bikes. Then I took one out for a ride to play. Can you guess which one is the play-toy? I even got Yammer out to ride with me. Although today it was me slowing down so he could keep up... It just doesn'tet any better in November.....
