  1. Yup Bass Pro claims it is in stock, I would stock up now if you can.
  2. Ahh yes it it always good to get out on the road after a bunch of wrenching. Glad to hear you got it all sorted out. As for the brakes, switching to EBC HH pads makes a huge difference in braking over the stock type organic pads. With the linked brakes you do need to learn to use more rear brake than what you are probably accustomed to using. I think the 1st gens are actually heavier than the glide, they just feel lighter.
  3. I checked a few of my sources for brass and they are all out of stock. I read that Remington has discontinued the 22 hornet brass and the others are just not making it. looks like a lot of the supply dried up starting about 2 years ago. If you manage to find some, I would stock up with as much as you can get. Perhaps you could get 17 Hornady brass and resize to 22 hornet? Good luck
  4. So where did you get yours from for $185?
  5. Cool, Looking forward to meeting you.
  6. Does that mean you can go for a long ride on a short pier.
  7. So can you post some of the pics and video for us to see?????
  8. CHICKEN!!!!!!
  9. So move to WI. The state does not even register or title trailers that are under 3,000 GVW. So $0 for a title, $0/yr for registration, $0/yr CITY personal property tax and $0 for STATE sales & use tax. So I say: "But I already paid sales tax at the store" They'll answer "OK, then you are all set" "Have a nice day"
  10. But never underestimate the importance of regular service to the blinker fluid.
  11. I think I agree with most of the comments on that site. Marketplaces test and analysis is faulty.
  12. None. Those pins are not threaded in. On the inside of the caliper there are 2 wire clips to hold the pins in. The head is just so you can turn the pin to get at the clip. You should be able to turn the pin with a pair of needle nose pliers. If you turn the pins a full turn with a wrench you will mangle the clips making them very hard to get out and then you will need new ones. Don't ask how I know all this........
  13. In my 96 P/U I tried running premium for a full year to compare with running regular. At the end of the year the premium did get better gas mileage and their was noticeably more power. But then the computer in my truck is capable of making use of the premium gas. But calculating the $$ per mile the regular still did better. I now just use premium when towing the RV just for the little extra oomph and range. In my bike I did the same test, for a full year. With no computer and EFI to take advantage of the extra octane there was no noticeable difference in mileage or performance. Now when I can find a station that has ethanol free gas, there is a very noticeable improvement in both mileage and power regardless of grade. If ethanol free premium were available around here, I would run it all of the time in the bike.
  14. Glad you are mostly OK. My father has significant permanent brain damage from when he fell while carrying something down the basement steps.
  15. Welcome aboard. In addition to liking FOOD, you will also need to learn to like ICE Cream. Just be careful not not get between Big Tom and the Ice Cream....... The international for 2013 will be in Galena IL, not in Indiana.
  16. Strange as it sounds, sometimes raising the price will make it sell. When I was trying to sell my camper I had a low price on it just to make it go. I think people figured that if it is that low then there is something wrong with it, as soon as I raised the price the phone started ringing and it sold for what I originally wanted. People have a price range tyhat they are looking at, if you are below their range they never see you.
  17. It took me 2 years to actually catch mine in the act of dripping/leaking. You missed a golden opportunity to track the actual source of the leak while it was in the act of leaking. I took so long to catch it in the act of leaking because I hate to just start replacing parts and hope that the problem goes away. I prefer a positive diagnosis and a single repair. As to wether replacing #22,#25 ,#29 and the plastic pipe will fix the problem? Only if they are the problem. As long as you will be in there.............
  18. OK I'll bite. How did you destroy a crankshaft trying to get the flywheel off by not having this tool?
  19. Plugs are cheap, You might be cheaper of just getting new ones than the time and expense of cleaning the old ones. Just soaking the complete carb assembly will not get the dried fuel out of the tiny internal passages. If your gonna go thru the effort of pulling them off, then it is worth the time to do it right the first time. For the stuck floats. Open the float bowl drains on the carbs and using a tube adapter spray a very heavy dose of carb & choke cleaner into the float bowl thru the overflow tube. Let it soak for a while and blast it again. This mat dissolve some of the crud that is in there and at least free up the float. If this will get the floats working AND you can actually get the engine running, then I would start by draining all of the old fuel out of the system and start by mixing up a batch of fresh gas with a very heavy dose of SeaFoam. Mix about a half can to a gallon of gas. let the fuel pump run this into the carbs till you are sure that the mix is in there. Start the engine and run it for 20 minutes or so and shut it off and let it soak overnight You will want to hit a lot of different throttle positions to get the mix in to all of the different circuits. You will have to repeat this for several days till you have used up almost all of that gallon of gas. (normally we would tell someone to take the bike out and ride it like you stole it, in your case that is not a safe option) If this is not showing improvement, then the only option left is to strip down the carbs and clean then completely. I am not aware of any other procedures that can be done from outside of the carbs.
  20. So are you trying to say that they are opening a DQ in a privy????/// That still won't keep Tom away.
  21. :sign yeah that: That was similar to my first thought also. You have the potential of a great bike there, I don't know that I would not recommend that you get rid of it, but its power and weight do require respect and some skills. I would Highly recommend starting out by taking a motorcycle safety course to learn the basics, and then pick up a cheap smaller beater bike in the 400-600cc range to ride while you are restoring this bike. by the time you get everything in top condition, you should heve enough skills to start riding this new monster. It is possible to learn right off the bat on a bike this big, but those that do are usually the ones you are reading about in the news paper after a crash. You did make the best first start, you came here and asked for help. You will get all the help you need here, you may not like some o the answers but they will usually be the right answer.
  22. But WHY do you store your bike hanging upside down from the ceiling?????
  23. Hmmmmm I am not sure what you really have. Yami stopped making the 1st gem in 93 and did not start the 2nd gen till 99 (at least in the USA). A picture of the bike will help us determine exactly what you have and what you need.
  24. I already did. I was Number 6 in line this morning. I have been voting at the same pole for 31 years, I have never seen anywhere near this long of a line at the time the polls opened. There had to be at least 100 people in line at opening and the line was still growing fast as I left. The most I have seen before was about 30 in line. Normal is about 6-10.
