Glad that we don't have that here. How will Santa's sleigh get around? And those poor reindeer, they might get heat stroke. At least we are supposed to have a white Christmas here, we'll see.

Yup, its been pouring rain all night and still is. Not a single flake has fallen here. Weather dude said that if it was just a few degrees cooler, this would be a much easier storm to predict, it would have just been 15-22 inches everywhere. :snow2: :snow2:

:sign yeah that: And I keep that special PayPal bank account at a bank other than where I do my normal banking. I have heard horror stories of people that had a separate PP account at their same bank and some how PP was able to pull monies from a non connected account to cover a dispute. If someone manages to hack my PP, they will not likely get enough to pay for a days worth of internet.

It looks like the bulseye is on central Wisconsin. they are talking about 14+ inches with 40 to 60 mph wind just to make it interesting. Looks like I will get cheated again. here in SE WI only 3-4 inches of snow and a LOT of rain.

I was in chat for most of last night with no issues caused by the server. I did get a warning message pop up once in bold red letters that said something to the effect of WARNING: Your current actions may get get you banned from chat. I figured that since I didn't do anything bad that I knew of I just ignored it and and everything seemed to continue working normally. I did note that a number of chatters were disappearing and having to get back in several times. Maybe it is OS or browser related. Chat has always been pretty stable for me. (Although I can't say the same for all of the chatters, especially myself. ) FWIW, I am running XP Pro and Firefox.

The engagement surface of the 72 tooth gear must be perfectly smooth, as soon as it starts to get any axial lines from the rollers of the clutch, it is toast and will not grab correctly. I have Danos mod in mine and never an issue since. The factory parts are about half the cost of Danos fix but the factory 3 roller setup is temporary at best. the Dano fix has 18 rollers.

But you have to have patience with me, sometimes it takes me a while to get to the puter when I hear the doorbell to tell me someone came into the room.

That link is just for a "wimpy" Stebel horn which is the same as the Wolo and Bad Boys horns. This is the HORN I am working on how to fit on my bike.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Ace. The "Cliff" has already come and gone, it is the sudden stop at the bottom that is coming quickly.

That is not a reason, it is an excuse. I have still not heard a good reason for loud pipes. There are a lot of things I would like to do but don't. Decibel level is how loud gets measured. The feds do have a decibel level that all new vehicles must meet. Even a Harley is quiet when it leaves the factory. If you make any mods to get louder (higher DB level) then you are doing something illegal and I hope that you would get a ticket for it. I just wish that more communities had the balls to enforce the current decibel laws, they are ignoring a potential cash generator. Around here you get an equipment violation for loud exhaust, you have 30 days to get it fixed or pay about a $150 fine for most it is cheaper to pay the fine than to get a new exhaust, and some just don't want to bother swapping exhaust back and forth if they still have a set of legal pipes.

There is no reason to piss off everyone all the time for those rare occasions when you need to let someone know you are there, that is what a horn is for, if you have time to rev the engine then you certainly have time to hit the horn button. I have yet to hear a single good reason to have loud pipes.

I like it. I sure wish they would pass and enforce that here. One reason that motorcycles are targeted is because the county buses and city trucks do not pass the noise ordinance. It is not just the Hardleys that are loud the high revving crotch rockets can also be heard for miles. then there's the cars with the loud fart pipes ........... none of which are bothered by the LEOs. I drive my car from the shop that put on the catalytic converter to the shop that was going to make a custom pipe to connect it to the exhaust and I got stopped, it was only 1.5 mile trip. Granted I may have been playing with the V8 and the open exhaust just a little. But still.......

One other important point that no one has mentioned yet. With infrared (IR) heat most of the energy goes into the the infrared radiation and much less goes toward directly heating the air. The infrared radiation then heats the objects that it hits. If that is you, then you will feel the heat. If it is an object in the room then that object will warm up. that warm object will still heat the air. Because of this, none of the energy is wasted, it all still turns to heat in the room somewhere and the net effect is the same. BUT, and there is always a BUT. Some things do not heat well with IR, like a mirror, or glass to name a couple, the mirror will reflect the heat and that reflection will then get the heat, so all is still good. Glass on the other hand is transparent to IR, this means that all of your IR energy that finds a window will be perfectly happy to go right thru the glass and heat whatever it hits outside. This is now wasted energy. With IR you need to be sure that it is not able to look out any windows. (unless of course you are trying to warm up your neighborhood) Energy is an interesting thing, it is always there, everywhere, it can not be created nor can it be destroyed. You can change the form of energy, you can direct it, you can move it, you can store it. But you can not create it, or destroy it, its still always there.

Lucky you. I'm still waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting..........for Our last measurable snow (0.1 inch or more) was MARCH 4th. We smashed the old record of consecutive days without snow back on Dec 9. But that should change over the next 3 days... My bike is dead so let it SNOW!!!!

Yes that cover is hard to pull off. First be absolutely certain that you have all of the bolts out and not just loosened. You also have to remove the middle gear cover before the crankcase cover will come off. Once you have done this and the cover is loose, it takes a pretty strong pull to get it off. It is being held on by the very strong magnets in the flywheel grabbing on to the stator. There are 3 gears that may stay with the engine or come out with the cover, their choice not yours. It is no big deal to put them back in. Once you have it apart it is obvious where the gears go back in. Just put them into the holes in the side of the engine for reassembly. You must use a gasket to get the proper gear clearance, I you try to use just a sealant the gears will bind.

You need to somehow document their unwillingness and flat out refusal to honor the warranty that they gave you.You can get those camera pens all over on line, just have it in you pocket and turned on the next time you talk to them. Being a caddy dealer, get the local news media involved, the last thing that they will want is it going out on the 6:00 news that the refuse to honor warranty work. You tried to be nice and they told you where to stick it, you do not have much time left on your warranty to get this handled. Do you really believe the used car salesman as to why the PO traded the car in? I always ask the PO myself. The PO will never tell the dealer about any issues the trade in has, that would lower its value.
