    here is gun safety from my area: Victoria’s police chief has been reprimanded for leaving his loaded firearm under the seat of his police cruiser while he was at a press conference last Friday revealing that the department had misplaced a cache of riot gear. Jamie Graham admitted Wednesday that he left his service pistol holstered under the driver’s seat of his unmarked car, parked at police headquarter’s locked underground parkade, while he spoke to the media about the “unacceptable” disappearance of equipment. Graham said in a statement that he ordered a thorough search of the department’s buildings and cars in an attempt to find a missing shotgun, tear gas, pepper balls and tactical vests. Instead, detectives found the chief’s pistol stored under the seat of his car, which is contrary to department policy that firearms stored at headquarters “must be unloaded, placed inside a locking drawer within a locked locker, and not be left unattended.” The department was already being criticized for losing the riot gear, which raised public safety concerns about the equipment ending up in the wrong hands. Victoria police have not said whether the gear was stolen or misplaced and would not say how long it went unaccounted for. It is still missing. An investigation into Graham’s gaffe by the department’s deputy chiefs, John Ducker and Del Manak, was forwarded to the chairman of the police board, Mayor Dean Fortin. Fortin gave Graham a written reprimand for neglect of duty. “Just as I expect every member of this department to take full responsibility for their actions, I take responsibility for this incident and I accept the Discipline Authority’s findings,” Graham said in a statement. “The last thing I want is for this inadvertent mistake to cast a shadow over the hard work that the men and women of VicPD do every day.” The Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner is aware of the decision. Deputy complaint commissioner Rollie Woods said the discipline is in line with similar situations. Fortin said he did not ask whether the chief has ever left his pistol under his seat before this incident. “We deal with what is,” Fortin said. “An incident has come to light, we investigate it, we’ve dealt with it and it is certainly our expectation that it won’t happen again.” Improper storage of a firearm is a criminal offence under the Canadian Criminal Code, but police officers are exempt from this. Fortin said the fact that the pistol was in the locked underground garage means there was no risk to the public. This is Graham’s second misconduct finding while serving as Victoria police chief. He received a written reprimand for discreditable conduct for comments he made at a Vancouver security conference in November 2009 about an undercover officer supposedly spying on Olympic protesters. While he was Vancouver police chief, Graham was cited for discreditable conduct for refusing to co-operate with an RCMP investigation. Graham began a five-year contract with Victoria police in January 2009. Fortin said it’s too early to tell whether the two misconduct findings will have any bearing on whether Graham, 63, is offered another term in 2014.     IF I drive everyday it would cost me a tank of gas a week, about 60 to 70 $ in my little GMC Jimmy. I mainly commute by bicycle and at times use tranist. It is only about 10 miles to work takes me 45 minutes by bicycle over an hour each way when bussing and 25 to 30 minutes to drive. Bus tickets would cost me $22.50 a week to do 5 days both ways. My son mostly rides my gs500 so a tank on that will last him over a month and it is under $20 to fill it. oooh bicycle maintenance is around $100 per year average including tires.

    here is one everyone should watch about health..... it works! I know it for a fact. Yes your vitiamin intake is very very important. I see the blood sucker at least once a year to make sure I am in good order.... my wife... she would be bleeding on the sidewalk and tell you she is fine. BUT she has joined me and helped me lose wieght and keep in good health. [ame] [/ame]

    Ok I have to admit I had to go to my profile and look to be sure....... Picture is of me with my 86 Venture in front of a snow bank in July on the top of Huricane Ridge, part of Olympic National Park in Washington State. I have always thought it was funny that the Canadian had to go South to the US to find snow to get his picture taken. Just another fantastic ride close to home.

    Tax refund this year will be $43.00 Canadian. How many tickets can I get for that? OOh maybe I should save it for next month whe I don't have a job... wife might want some food money!

    .... I live where I live. I keep my bikes plated year round, I ride when it is safe to ride, we do get a lot of black ice durring the fall winter spring months, we even have to admit that sometimes... it is rare... but sometimes that white stuff does show up:snow::snow:, but normally only a day or two of it. It is not uncommon to be out on Christmas day or New Years day for a ride.... boxing day, rememberance day, thanksgiving, ground hog day, any day is likely to be a riding day. Yes some times it is wet sometimes it is cold some times it is hot. But every ride you come home safe from is a good ride. One of my favorite ride days is Independance Day rides across the staights to Washington States' Olymipic Mountains. It is usualy sunny and warm at the bottom and sunny with snow caps up on top. :sun::rain2::sun1: I am hoping another ride to Whistler with the west coast crew is in the works this year as well. ride safe

    ......Seafoam was able to go into the crank case, so that will be on the todo list for the next oil change. How much do you add to the fuel system. I know when I put it in my car fuel tank I throw the complete can in but is there a ratio I should follow? How many ounces into a tank? First gen second gen I assume will be slightly differant.

    replace the gas cap, pour a can of seafoam in it and it will be happy I bet..... But ..... if you are able to get the code read for free go get it done. Here we still have to pay to have the code read.

    how are you making out down there, we got kicked hard with the storm but not as bad as you in Wa State. We got more snow here than we have had in years and the cold is bitter. We have the freezing rain warning up for tomorrow so we will be thinking of you down there when that hits us. If you need any more help send a PM any time

    Could be a thermostat setting if you have a T-stat that says heating - cooling you may have to swap that setting to bring on the gas. check the furnace and make sure that the thermostat connections on the circut board have something connected to them.. they are likely the R and W maked on the board but confirm if you had distruction booklet for it. I have found that the new multi use T-stats have been wired incorrectly as well. The have about 10 terminals on the back and the wiring can be confusing at best. Check the distruction booklet as above. The last resort..... disconnect wiring for heat pump control and place a jumper wire between R and W if you are in big need of heat that should bring the heat on. OOOOH yes and check the polairity of the electrical when the gen set is running! I have seen the modern equipment not work if the hot is not the hot if you know what I mean.

    Right now in Victoria it is 23 F. For us that is very cold. with wind "chill" it is 16 F. Estevan Sk where my son is it is -20 F with wind chill at -44 F
