  1. I have one word to say....... Tire Pressure
  2. It should work.....BUT...... and yes there is always a but in electrical. There is a reason that fuse blew. You need to check the lights and wiring to make sure there is not a short to ground or that the bulb has popped. The glass fuse you buy will not take the solder on the shiney chrome ends... you will need to take some sand cloth or simular to the end to find the brass or copper under it then use some acid flux to help it bond. The replaceable fuse is the best idea for you to use at least untill you track the WHY.
  3. Victoria British Columbia Canada where we ride year round and there is not many straight or flat roads close by.
  4. Nope don't stay with JUST bike stuff! This place is great with all the different discussions. I even learned about concealed hand guns here once. I had never known anything about hand guns before. I am Canadian what do I know about guns? Oh and Rick.... that is what you get for going to those other sites..... besides we need you here so you will organize another ride to Whistler next year.... or.... Lori says to Harrison Hot Springs..... should never have told her I was posting.
  5. Krylon is a great color paint. I used it on the interior of a car I was customizing and it matched the outside excellently. But for the underside or anything that is going to be outside Rustolium of Tremclad is another that is very good on the rusty going to get dirty things. As for the clear coat ... yup if you can get some clear over top it will last that much longer. I have been doing the deck of my boat to restore it... the best product for boat decks in "Spar" varnish.... I bought a can and sure enough it is a Rustolium product.
  6. Snap-on tools sells a small 17 mm Allen socket for 23$ it does the job very well. I left the ainti dives on just for the looks as my bike is in original (collector) condition but yes Skydoc-17 does sell the kits for removing the anti dives. I will tell you right now you are goinf to love it with or without the anti dives
  7. aaaaaaah been there done that then found all of you here.... said good bye to the other site and never looked back.
  8. I comute to work by bicycle most days 20 mile round trip. Wife and I try to walk 2 or 3 evennings a week... just like 5 miles.... we work out in a gym one or two times a week as well. Some times we switch the walk for the gym if the weather is crappy. I have 7 older brothers... I refuse to end up looking as old as them ! And I tried the round shape and I (and my doctors) did not like it as much as this shape.
  9. so.... back to the noisey minds ...... what is the other sire? just gotta know what I am missing out there :stickpoke: :stickpoke: :stickpoke:
  10. hair dryer works... a little slower but works.... has 2 sided tape behind it.... mine only had about 4 patches of tape. I put the new one on with the automotive moulding tape and did a complete fill behind it.
  11. :sign yeah that: :sign yeah that: :sign yeah that: :duck: :duck: :duck: :duck: :duck:
  12. I put Metzlers on mine and have been happy once I got the feel for them.... You will likely get many responses with many different opinions on this subject, they are all correct and all will work well for the ones that suggest them... you need to feel out what it is you are looking for. Dunlop E3, Avon, Metzler, are some of the most popular... some may even recommend a Goodyear radial but you have to think on them all. :wel_4Wa:
  13. I know what the 2 of you are going through... the tables were turned it was me out of town in ER..... words will be spoken
  14. my 86 has 34,000 Km..... = 21,100 miles
  15. you do not have to purchase a special pump.... most cycle shops sell a small adapter to go on the stem so you can use any air pump. Just like riding the motorcycle..... All the gear all the time ! Helmets save lives.
  16. Will be thinking of all of you...... keep safe

  20. I am not sure what is the lesser of the 2 evils? West Coast of Canada is well over due for a big shaking.... glad you guys are all ok.... oooh and I am glad you got it not us.....
  21. Don, thinking of you and your family in these difficult times. I have a wife very much like yours, always there as a care giver for others never taking time for her. My wife was endlessly with my sisters in their times of need and every weekend she spent her off time caring for my mother until mom passed in May. What special people the Lord has blessed us with. Next summer vacation I plan on taking her on a cruise to Hawaii so she can have time for her for a change. Iceland don't sound bad either! prayers
  22. Send it USPS and the cost is no more than double.... USPS has been the best way I have brought anything up from the US. List it as "bike parts" nothing else unless pressed. + =
  23. I asked the guy at a local motorcycle repair shop he sent me to a local auto parts supplier and they sell in in like a 1 pint plastic jar. I don't know what auto jobbers you have in the south but I used JB auto parts here. Napa ?( go 56 !) Kevin
  24. That is becoming popular here too at T.H. and other mainly fast service places, they say they have no pennies so the round UP to the next nickel...... I have caught them probably 5 times and keep telling them if they have no pennies that is not my fault and to give me the extra nickel.
