  1. 2008 is going out with a bang, a big one too. you have to stop being a troublemaker in 2009. glad to hear all persons are somewhat okay and will heal. i thought you guys were up north for Christmas, guess not. speedy recovery bud. Scott and Sherry
  2. is it the 2010 model, finally a canadian version so we can ride in the winter
  3. awesome ride, Bongobob and Becky rode with us. we stayed in front royal, made our way south and stopped to see Lowry Caverns and stayed the night just north of Roanoak Va. Days Inn and Super 8 had good bang for the buck, conti breakfast and had wireless internet. we were in no hurry and we stopped at lots of lookouts along the way. figure 2 to 3 days. make sure you check out Mount Mitchell which is down closer to Ashville. nice ride up and down, 6600 feet high, restaurant at the top too. some of our best pictures where from that spot. it is at blueridge and highway 80. hwy 80 is a sweet curvy ride, make sure you check it out. in Maggie Valley at the bottom of the parkway is a really nice town, and there is a motorcycle mueseum there. lots of leather shops too. also south of Ashville is Chimney Rock, another must see and sweet roads too. hope this helps Cheers, Scott

    Chaps

three bike shows coming up, two in december, and one in january. i bought mine at the show in january, out at international center. he had a big selection.
  5. Glad to hear you are both on the mend, it is not a nice thing to have happen. take care Scott
  6. my first bike ride was when i was 6 or so, i loved it. when i was 8 or 9 my cousin let me ride his 205 honda. rode dirt bikes or whatever and got my licence when of age and have never stopped riding. both my children have grown up riding on the back since they were in kindergarden, always had the right size helmet on, made them wear gloves, jacket, long pants and tie up shoes or boots. my younger daughter still comes with me on rides and she is almost 19. my older daughter who is 22 has also driven my wifes bike and would like to get her licence one day and thinks it would be awesome to have her kids take their turn on the back with her driving. everytime i go out to my brother in laws, my two nephews always want me to take them for a spin. i do hope this law is not passed and i have sent an email in that regard.
  7. she sure looks pretty, and the bike is nice too. congrats on the new ride. if you are not happy with the v twin, i am sure at Don maintenance day next year we could throw a couple more cylinders on there for ya. looking forward to our next ride with you and Vicky. cheers, Scott
  8. the mirror glass broke while i tried to gently pry it out. the mirror glass is very thin.
  9. my wife -read her map and highlight roads we travelled on - can do her nails -text the kids -read her readers digest -scratch her scratch and win cards -take pictures -have a snooze -instuct me to change the tunes my wife used to knit when we were driving in the van, every time we would speed up she would knit faster and every time we slowed down, so would the knitting. i thought i had a valvetrain problem with the tick tick tick noise.
  10. i run the same as RandyA, avon on the front and e3 on the rear. the e3 has a higher load rating than the e2. this comination really works well on my 86. tracks straight, very quiet ride and handling is outstanding. have had bridgestones, dunlops, metzelers that failed while doing 65 mph and now this combo that is the best so far. cheers, Scott
  11. thanks Adam we are back from a ride down to PA to do some of route 6. we joined Bongobobs fall colors ride to the south then we broke off to carry down to see route 6. we stayed in a town called Cuba and we ended up joining a dance at a wedding reception at a restaurant we had dinner at. Ooooohhhh Sherry. we started at the western starting point of route 6 and made our way east bound. we stopped into the Oxyoke Inn as there was 30 plus bikes parked outside, and had some great food:beer: and chatted with numerous folks. we went further east and stopped into Colder mountain to see the PA grand canyon, a definite must see. then we had to head for home, :bawling:so we went north on 15 and wound up going through the finger lakes by Watkins Glen. we will be back down to do the rest of route 6 to the east for sure. this route is definitly made for motorcycles and is probably the nicest road we have been on. cheers, Scott
  12. great report Red. too bad you missed meeting us at the international meet, you should have just driven right in and hunted us down. next time you are coming this way let us know and we can hook up and show you some more really nice areas to ride. cheers, Scott
  13. i have purchased from them and i was very pleased with their service and prices.
  14. i popped the lenses off and installed four - 2 foot red led strip lights in my reflectors. two strips in each reflector, looks awesome. i tied them to my brake lights. cost just under 100, bought the strips off ebay, shipping was expensive from USA to Canada. cheers, Scott
  15. wow, you have come a long way in the past year physically and mentally. i will always picture Leslie by your side and smiling from ear to ear, my eyes are tearing up with happy ones while i type. i know she is watching over you, and happy to see her knight in shining leather, back on his shining 2 wheeled stallion out on the open road again. we enjoy our rides with you, and looking forward to the next adventure. Scott
  16. glad to hear you are back in the saddle we are having a nice couple of days. Bongobob and his lovely wife were over at our house yesterday for a great visit enjoying the sunshine out in Sherrys garden. we should have a few good rides left before that nasty white stuff starts. cheers, Scott
  17. the adapter i have uses fram 3614. cheers, Scott
  18. glad to hear that you are back riding. see you down the road. cheers, Scott
  19. my rear tire went at just over 3000 and my buddy lost his rear metz around 5 or 6000 . i was doing 65 mph when it ballooned and i nailed the brakes and went for the shoulder. big section of rubber delaminated from the carcass and yes i kept a very close eye on tire pressure. i took the front off also and replaced both. what a waste of money, the company has very poor complaints department. it was so close to being a disaster, so stay away from them..
  20. well i guess we are the first ones home and on the site. WOW, what a ride. Stephen you have done a fantastic job buddy. others had cameras going so pics will be posted. i have almost 1000 km(600 miles) on the odometer after this weekend of riding some very nice and some very winding northern roads. cheers, Scott and Sherry
  21. i picked the 86 venture as i love the way it looks. i am amazed at the power and handling. i sometimes ride on the sporty side and this bike will do it well. i have ridden many wings(except the new 1800) and for me i could not ride it in what i call a sporty fashion, when i did everything was scraping and i was not pushing as hard as i can. both bikes can roll on the miles for long distance. reverse would have come in handy a couple of times. when it came to buying a bike, the venture was my personal choice. cheers, Scott
  22. painting it Black:think:, i would have thought you would be painting it pink. looks good, i wanna go for a ride in it one day. cheers, Scott:big-grin-emoticon:
  23. hi Brian www/torontoschoolofupholstery.ca complete recovering services for marine, RV, etc. address is 2250 midland ave in Scarborough 416-335-1400 i have no idea of their work, i just seen this ad in the local paper. cheers, Scott
  24. my 86 just started to do a silly thing also sidestand electrical related. with the bike in neutral, key on, sidestand down, crank engine, but it wont catch. just as my wife walked in the garage i was cranking the engine when i flipped the sidestand up and the exhaust pipes ignited and what a bang out the two pipes. my wife went back in the house and i think she will not be coming in my garage for a long time. her hearing did come back. the bike now does this on a regular basis, so i guess it is time to replace the sidestand switch, or replace the relay which is located up by the fusebox. i will sort this out over the winter months. cheers, Scott
