i would first try and bleed the clutch line. if there is air in the line, this may be causing the clutch to not disengage fully. let us know how you make out. cheers, Scott

glad it worked out for you Bob, now you can slow down so that 2nd gens can keep up with you.

i found a motorcycle link to Nova Scotia tourism, they will send a free info pack, and you can also purchase a DVD tour if you want. see below if you get time while you are down there, look into the Alexnder Graham Bell museum, i was amazed at the many things he tinkered with. you can do the museum visit in 2 to 4 hours. i took over 4 hours. there are many spectacular coastal roads that we did, stopping for a swim, stopping for pictures, meeting fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. everyone seems to have time to stop, say hi, and have a chat. if you go to Lunenburg, there is an old fort which they have fully restored, restaurants serve time period food that is grown in the gardens on site. also look for the Tall Ships if they are in the harbour when you are there. they are amazing. cheers, Scott www.ridenovascotia.com

sorry to hear of your loss of a family member. their companionship will always be remembered. we lost our little pup last fall and i still look for him every time i come in the front door. try to remember some of the good or funny things that Skippy did and hopefully it will bring a little smile back during this time. here is one memory of our little guy: our little dog was paper trained and a couple of Christmas ago while down at my parents, the dog left his own present on top of one of the gift wrapped boxes.

with Plastex you can attach broken off pieces, you can build up broken off sections, you can make your own mould and create your own pieces. check out their web site and watch the video, and have a look at some of the repairs that this stuff can be used for. i have tried fiberglass repair 5 minute epoxy plastic repair stuff from hardware stores and they all have peeled off over time

hey Gary the trailer looks great, cool that you recycle too, that rack looks sweet. see ya soon cheers, Scott

Question re: Progressive Rear Shock
mother replied to Skid's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
the progressive front springs are a dream, every first gen needs them as far as the rear, i bought the progressive rear spring and put it on the original rear shock and i hate it. the navigator also finds it a much harsher ride and does not like it either. i played with all kinds of pressures and rebound adjustments and still not happy. i will be putting the original spring back on.- 12 replies

Road Kings are an easy install. i bought a pair off ebay for real cheap. then i bought a couple of 15 degree adapter pipes from Canadian Tire, clamped all together. i made a couple of brackets out of some flat metal stock to support them, bolted them to one of the bottom saddlebag mounts and that was it. they are slightly louder than stock when on the throttle hard and have a nice note when riding normally. i love em. cheers, Scotthttp://co116w.col116.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=0&messageId=492115a7-833b-4a29-82cf-9f0385991514&Aux=44|0|8CB5EB56852B930|http://co116w.col116.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=2&messageId=492115a7-833b-4a29-82cf-9f0385991514&Aux=44|0|8CB5EB56852B930|

fork dependant speed wobble ?
mother replied to 6m459's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
did fork brace, still shimmy changed front tire, still shimmy replaced steering head bearings, and voila, shimmy gone. the bottom bearing showed wear, the top one looked good, but i replaced both. the steering head has to be snug, not tightened down. if steering head is loose, shimmy will occur also. cheers, Scott -

i met up with a new venturerider.org member last night named Evan, what a great guy. we had lots to talk about, he is a very avid rider who has done many trips, and looking forward to joining in on many rides, meets and eats, and ice cream. we had a go at his new to him 88. sweet ride, very nice shape, but i would like to set up his carbs for him. is there anyone in and around Toronto that has a manometer for setting up the carbs. cheers, Scott:beer:

that is great news that he is progressing well and will be coming home. Pete, we are glad to hear that he will be making it to the international meet, nothing is going to stop you buddy, that is the attitude to have. last summer i seen many trikes out there, and there are some sweet looking rides, reverse and everything. last year while riding with my buddy Gord and his wife, we stopped at the Oxeyoke inn which is in PA and there were a group of about 30 trikes having lunch there. we were the only 2 wheeler in the parking lot. wings, ventures, HD's, so there is lots to pick from. see you down the road, life is a venture.
