wow, it seems like yesterday. he loved his wife Marion and his girls so much. i had the honour of doing many rides with Stephen, he never stopped. i enjoyed his visits, sitting in the yard and talking of the rides that he had done. he also enjoyed coaching the young ladies baseball with a passion. i enjoyed taking my daughter and meeting with him and his daughter up at a local hangout on Thurday nights. he was such a great person, he touched so many hearts. we miss you buddy.

So does everyone hate..............

i run dunlop elite 3 front and back, awesome traction, great tire life, handle sweet, quiet and smooth while touring. last time i had dunlop elite 3 on the back and avon on the front and i actually preferred the way the bike handled, and same as above for comments. i have had bridgestones on the bike also and the rear wore out way too fast and the front cupped also sounding like riding with snow tires. cheers, Scott -
congratulations Scott and Sherry

big tom was trying to sing a johnny cash tune, and thank goodness a couple of harley riders heard him and.....

i always get my tires balanced. i have read about the balancing beads that Freezyrider mentioned and i will try them on my next set of tires. i am another member with a Metzeler tire (very low mileage, maybe 3,000) that delaminated, my wife and i on the bike, highway speed, no trailer, and she let go. if you value your life, please get rid of that rear tire.

or do the RandyA mod, and cut both legs 1/2 and inch and weld the left foot on and replace the right side with a wheel. i used a ball bearing and made a 1/2 inch dia shaft, drilled a hole in the sidestand, welded the shaft into the right leg of the sidestand, and shortened the right leg a little more so the wheel rides on the ground. this is great for turning the bike around.

glad things worked out for you. that was an experience that i am glad you posted. it can happen to anyone of us. we have to be 100 percent when we get on and ride. Sherry and i stop every hour or less and get off and stretch, walk around, pick up a drink of juice or water. i will not get on my bike if my brain does not feel 100 percent.

i like it a lot, so many possibilities. maybe put a keg of wine back there, or a lazyboy chair and get the wife to drive.

just west of us, hwy 400 and north of hwy 7 tornado went through, one person dead, there are more than 12 homes severely damaged, lots more with roofs gone, many hydro lines down, trees down, flooding, cars overturned. we had severe wind, lightening and rain here, could not even see the car in the driveway.

i use a little screwdriver to loosen the shim as it is in place with oil in the bucket. kinda like a cork in a bottle. then i or move it up slightly out of the bucket, and then i use a little pencil tip magnet to remove the shim. my shims did not get magnetized from the use of the small pencil magnet. i will take one of my duplicate spares and see if i can magnatize it just out of curiousity and report back. cheers, Scott

sounds like you need to adjust the fuel guage float for more accurate readings. its real easy to do. two seat bolts, and remove 4 bolts for the gas tank float. slightly bend the arm down. then run a couple of tanks to see how many miles before red light comes on. adjust again if needed. it took me two tries to get the light to come on at the mileage that i wanted. when i have burned off 4.5/4.6 gal, that is now when i have adjusted the red light to come on. normal riding i easily get 200 miles before the red light comes on. i have ridden just over 240 miles with the red light on for a while and when i filled up, i put 4.9 gals in. fully loaded and faster interstate running fuel mileage drops to 36/37 on my bike. cheers, Scott
