  1. 5.8 one time only, that was scary enough.
  2. I just slide the drive shaft back in until I touch the U joint, lift the U joint with drive shaft and slide in. Usually no more than 5 minutes playing with it.
  3. Of those three choices, the Michelin Commander. From most of the ones who use them here, they have no complaints about wet weather and gripping.
  4. Mechanic and I have you and your family in our prayers, just get better.
  5. Mechanic was not there at the MD this year, so not sure who took pics, but I am sure the pics will start trickling in.
  6. Someone get a hold of Squidley, he is looking for another bike
  7. Art is coming to my place on Saturday June 13. If you guys want to, come on over and between the four or six of us, I am sure we can get your bikes up and running. I know Wanderer and maybe Dave38x will be here too.
  8. On the radio, just pull the front fairing off, and put some dielectric grease in each of the fittings for the radio. Wanderer's froze up this weekend and found one of the connectors loose under the fairing. Took all of them apart, greased and snapped back together. No more radio freeze.
  9. 3. The Y joints are replaced under warranty. Had both of mine on the 05 replaced, so far no issue on the 08
  10. I have the Flanders and if the risers are anything more than an inch I doubt very much the cables you would need for the Flanders would strech that far.
  11. Here is a sound byte for my 05 bike with the Khromewerks, now have them on my 08 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOUbPUOgtuM]YouTube - Royal Star Venture Khrome Werks V2 Cont.[/ame]
  12. My 05 did the same thing, carb sync almost fixed the sync, then put on Avons, no more vibrations. I also have Kyriakens on now with Baron weights. Also no vibrations.
  13. Ok, bike has been sitting since Saturday afternoon. Went out to see if bike would start, no issue whatsoever, started right up. But when I get back, will have battery checked out for sure.
  14. Eck thanks, I will take you up on the offer. You have Bobbie's number, we will be leaving here tomorrow (monday) at 6:00 am.
  15. I use the Bosch filters. Get them at Autozone along with Mobil1 Motorcyle oil.
  16. Definitly will be taking the bike to Sumter dealer this coming week. I am electrically challenged, but I can trace wiring, even have Voltmeter, but really not sure how to use. Easy enough reading it when touching the battery post and getting the 12V, but if other places are not grounded properly, how do I tell with the Voltmeter??
  17. Call Garmin, they will help and most likely tell you to send it to them. Serveral here have had that issue and Garmin sent them back a new ZUMO. Yours is under warrenty, so call them.
  18. This is definitly not the famous ignition switch issue. When hitting the start switch, I hear a popping sound, then no electrical. Thought I had blown a fuse. Checked all fuses none, blown. I am leaning towards a bad battery also.
  19. Ok, this is a weird one to me. Lately, first time I try to start the bike, hit starter switch everything goes out, lights dash nada. So pulled the seat, checked the battery, 12.0v. Checked battery cables, all tight. So think the ignition switch is going out on this one. But I do not believe it. So pulled battery cables, made sure they were clean, re-attached, turn ignition key on, have lights and dash is back, hit starter switch everything goes dark again. Ok, now I am believing the battery cables are the culprit. Undo again, re-attached, turn ignition key back on, press starter switch and bike starts up. Go the rest of the day no issues. Next day repeat above scenario. This morning repeat above scenario, but this time on the first attempt I put the hot wire to my trailor lights between the battery post and the bike's hot wire, tighten down, bike starts immediately. Ok, I am , what gives with the battery hot wire. Everything is clean and tight. I believe it is heat related, where the bike starts everything stays tight, but after bike sits over night (cools down), issue arises. Any thoughts ?
  20. What do you mean, does anyone here have the backrest
  21. Hey, we road 500 miles to Huntsville, AL for the M&E and I live in South Carolina
  22. Actually, we are going your way, going to Alabama If the bike week this weekend was anything like the last week's bike week, it was boring, but at least you did not feel trampled. Also, while in MB, they are issuing tickets if not wearing a helmet and for loud exhaust. Over 1100 tickets were issued in MB last week.
  23. This is a warranty issue, let your dealer handle this.
  24. here is a thread for a rack I use, has all the parts listed. Just read through the thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27465
  25. I have the Zumo 550, but even though it is water proof, I still put the bag zip lock bag over it. Has saved me from bugs, mud and water.
