  1. The tire gauge is RideGear Electronic. Also, not many curvy roads in SC, so most of my wear will be right down the middle. I am thinking about getting a gauge type that you screw down and don't lose the air pressure on.
  2. I already have the new E3 here. I wanted to see if I could break the mileage I was getting on the Avon (between 13000 and 14000). The crack is why I am swapping out now. Not sure why the cupping though, check pressure regiously, always between 40 and 41 lbs. max is 40. And 99% of the time, 2 up.
  3. Ok, took these pics of the E3 2nd gen rear tire with about 16000 miles. Will be replacing with another E3. Looks like one spot on the tire was getting kind of bald. But over all I am happy with the mileage.
  4. The Stillotto (wrong spell) end weights have been out there for several years by Kury.
  5. Again, the OEM are the heavier weighted of the three, OEM, Barons and Kyriakin. Here are more pics of the Flanders with Barons and Flame grips.
  6. Here is a pic in my gallery that shows the Flame with Barons. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=big&p=5245 I will see if I can find one closer up.
  7. Yes, I have the flame version
  8. I did not actually weigh them, but the OEM are slightly heavier. When I first put the ISO grips on the Flanders bar and went for a ride, there was vibration. Then put the Kyriaken weights on, vibration went away, but did not like the stillotoe look, except when wife is wearing those kind of heels :whistling:. Found the Baron weights, which look similiar to the OEM weights, been using the Barons ever since.
  9. What speed are you riding at to get 50mpg on a 2nd gen? The best i get with 2 up going 60 mph is 40mpg. anything above 60 mph, mileage varies between 32 and 36 mpg.
  10. Dang, you must have a board for a seat, to me I love the pillow top seats. The corbin type and the older midnight venture seats (05 and less) way to hard. I did install the Flanders bar, now I don't feel like I am stretched out over the tank. I have a 31 inch inseam and can flat foot the bike, so will not lower.
  11. Barons has had their weights for at least the last two years, what I have on my bike with the Flanders bar. That way I did not have to mill, drill or weld the nut for the OEM weights.
  12. I had two issues with the rain on my 05. First time was leaving Freebirds MD in the rain, bike suddenly died, would turn over but no spark. We hauled it back to Freebirds, and traced it to the Starter Relay switch. This is located by the fuel filter. There was a pin hole in the black casing because the switch somehow melted the plastic from the inside out, rain/moisture got in the pin hole and shorted it out. Got that replaced under warranty. Second time, again in heavy rain, the ignition switch caused problems like BlackJack described above. WD40 helped us get home, but immediately had my local dealer replace the switch under warranty.
  13. Well, don't see why you couldn't make the trip. Wife and I left South Carolina, touched California, came back through Colorado, all in 2 weeks, about 6500 miles when all done and ridden.

  15. Here are Mechanics pics with Dave38x and Wanderer (Ted and Pat) going to Lake Lure http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20Lake%20Lure%2020090425/
  16. I like it, now what did she spend HER money on? Evidently not YOUR bike
  17. You and the wife are joining us for breakfast at Cracker, right, will be there at 7 am.
  18. Congrats, are we taking that to Lake Lure tomorrow? :cool10:
  19. My wife would love to have those, but how to get around the kick stand ?
  20. I did not order the light kit, but wired the bike with a relay. If I ever get a trailer, then I will be all set up and ready to go.
  21. Just keep in mind that Charleston does not allow bikes in their so called Public garages. I do not know anything about the island, but maybe someone from the Charleston area will respond. By the way, let us know when the dates and I know I can get at least one bike to meet, maybe two or more on a Saturday.
  22. Hey, my bike resembles yours. Love that color. :cool10:
  23. Also, here are pics of the rack with measurements.
  24. I have one on my 08 and had one on my 05. First of all do not put the bib over the black rubber center piece. If you do or the shop installs it like that, it will billow up and catch all kinds of garbage. Pull the black rubber center piece up some, stretch the bib over tank with velcro, then lay the center piece back down. Never have an issue with the velcro coming loose and not catching the garbage.
  25. No it's not :rasberry::rotf:
