  1. :whistling:Yet another oil to add to the lists.... T5 Shell Rotello 10W40 synthetic blend, buy from Tractor supply store. I use this in my 2001 RSTD and change every 5K miles. Absolutely no problems! Jim in TN.
  2. Enjoyed reading and looking at all the post about this subject. I bought a pair of HD pipes that are completely stock along with the adapter brackets. However, my 2001 RSTD stock mufflers are not slipons and will have to cut off to replace. Not sure about doing that at this time. I would like to have a little more sound, maybe slightly deeper, but the stocks sound decent with the V4. Just pondering what to do....? ? ? ? ? I'm an oldie, so don't need to much noise! Jim. :backinmyday: :backinmyday:
  3. Dave, in your video, are the HD pipes completely stock or have they been modified in any way? I have a set of 95 models,in excellent condition, and considering putting them on my'01 RSTD. However, my stocks are not slip-ons, so I will have to cut the stocks off. :happy65:
  4. I actually have the sheepskin and the wal-mart pad. The wife really likes the sheepskin/gel pad much better. The size large is a good fit for the passenger seat on my '01 RSTD.:happy65: My driver seat is a Rick Butler re-do, lowered slightly, reshaped, added the butt buffer, and the best money ever spent on a seat. My butt thanks Rick evertime I hit the road!
  5. Considering the mileage, might not want to consider a full synthetic, especially if it has always run on conventional oil. Just my thoughts.
  6. New cost should be around $180. I actually bought a set last month from an individual, still in the box, for $75. Had a couple of scratches on the bottom of one side.
  7. Think I would go with the T6 Rotella- full synthetic 5W-40. Lots of info on the forums about recommended oils. Good luck! Ride safe.
  8. Thinking about adding these risers to my '01 RSTD. Any comments from other RSTD riders?? Thanks, JIM from TN.:confused07:
  9. I also added the harley davidson rear light bracket to my '01 RSTD recently. Mounts to your tag, looks really good! Adds additional running and brake lights.
  10. Congrats!! You can do it! Stay focused on your goal. I quit in '95 and never looked back, after 30+ years. Saved a "bunch" of money. :mo money:
  11. :smile5:The 1st owner of my 2001 RSTD said he only used the yamalude oil. However, I like the synthetic blend, so I am now trying the Honda HP4 high performance 10w-40 synthetic blend motorcycle oil. After 2K miles, I am very pleased. Shifting very good, and "seems" to be running a touch quieter. Just another thought to ponder! :sun1:
  12. :sun1:I use Valvoline synthetic blend 80W90 and never had any problems. Regular maintenance is the key. JIM B.
  13. I switched to the 130 on the front as well, michelin, and am very pleased with the change. I also switched from the 150 on the back to the 140, michelin as well. Pleased with the results. Everyone is right about wind buffiting on the interstate, but I run good, non-interstate roads most of the time. Like to cruise along, and smell the roses. :clap2:
  14. Prayers are certainly with this family. I talked with Bobby a short time ago and offered my help. I will check with UT hospital on tuesday for a family status report and see what we can or need to do for the family members. Everyone take care, and be safe. Jim Bragwell in Knoxville TN.
  15. Some insurance companies will allow you to suspend your coverage for periods of time with certain restrictions (ie. minimum of 30 days/ and up to twice a year) on recreational vehicles. GMAC allows me to do this with my motorhome. Saves me a few $$$ each year when not in use. Check with your company... if the vehicle is classified as recreational. Ride safe! JIM.
  16. :backinmyday:I ride a 2001 RSTD and it is a great bike! Fits me very good, comfy and handles very good, at 6' and 215lbs. EazyDuzzit, a member on this site has a very sharp 2005 RSTD and is eager to sell. Its in the classifieds, might want to give him a call and discuss. Good luck and you can't go wrong with this bike.
