  1. Sharp Bike! Should give you many years of good service. However............. I'm not a WWall guy! Safe traveling to you.
  2. You will really like this bike. I am 64, long time rider, 6 foot and 220. I have a 1100 v-star silverado as well. The RS tour deluxe feels easier to ride than the 1100. The tour deluxe is my ride of choice, so I'm planning to sell the 2003 1100 in the near future. Take the plunge, good luck to you. Bring her to the Great Smoky Mountains and enjoy the fall.
  3. Keeping your cool is commendable! The HD folks treat us guys with the good bikes like red-headed step kids. Your bike should be worth more than twice that figure. Look on website.....http://www.NADAGuides.com.... follow the steps and it will give you some accurate figures. Good luck! better to sell on craigs list or find a bike shop that takes consignments and will sell for a small fee, usually $150 to $200.
  4. Aftermarket slip-ons should not require a re-jetting. Less backpressure, but I would definitely add a K&N air filter so it can breathe better. Performance should actually improve.
  5. WOW! I saw this bike today on my visit to Jim's house. Super sharp, great color. The ole Yamaha tour deluxe is a great bike as well. It's obvious that you take good care of your rides. If anyone is looking for a 2005 Venture Tour Deluxe with loads of options you need to contact Jim. The bike will not dissapoint, and at a great price! Good luck with the HD.
  6. Congrats Mr & Mrs. Boo ! In this day and age that is fantastic. I'm the new member, and old to boot. Pam & I were married 45 years on the 15th of August. Stay safe and healthy and enjoy many more years together.
  7. Interesting discussion... I am new to the forum website. My 2001 RS Tour Deluxe has stock mufflers and I also would like to get a little more sound quality. footsie, I look forward to seeing your pictures posted. I 'm an old retired senior and may consider this idea. Just like the idea of a little more low end sound. Thanks for the help! JIM from Knoxville TN. If anyone is in the Knoxville,Tn area in the near future, I would like to hear a bike with this stock modification. I have a set of Roadhouse slip-ons off my V-Star 1100 silverado, but probably will not work on the tour deluxe.
  8. I recently went thru the same thing on tires and I wanted to try the michelin commanders. I did some sizing study and this is what I am trying at this time. I purchased a commander 140/90Bx15 for the rear, and a commander MT90Bx16 for the front. The rear is very slightly narrower and the front is approx. 3/4" narrower. Some of the newer bikes are running these sizes. The ride is very good, and I am pleased with the difference at this point. Overall the bike is about 1/2" lower to the ground.I did this on a 2001 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I am a tire and wheel man, so I didn't mind doing some experimenting. By the way, The MT90B is same as 130/90Bx16. I purchased them thru Motorcycle superstore, free shipping and no tax. Rear tire was $107.99 and front tire $87.99. Good luck on your purchase, and just wanted to give you something to think about as a possibility. I am a newbee to this site, just joined, but have been riding for many years. This is my 4th Yamaha- GREAT BIKES! Jim in Knoxville,TN.
