Man.... I can't imagine having to pay these prices. I am SO glad that I retired from the Navy and lived to be 65. With Tricare for Life and Medicare I don't have to pay for anything. And to think I was gonna quit the Navy with 14 yrs in....thank God I didn't. And I pay $115 per quarter for insurance for my wife and kid. I consider myself very fortunate when it comes to medical stuff.

If Yamaha uses the Strat for the new Venture, like Kawasaki used the Nomad to make a Voyager, then I'll be moving to the Goldwing for my next bike.....or buy a nice Valk Interstate. I had an '07 Strat and traded it for my ex '07 RSTD just to get rid of it.Only had 7,000 miles on the Strat when I traded it. Man, I hated that bike! Then I traded the RSTD for my '09 RSV which I like fairly well.

The dealer here sure doesn't toss 'em. They wanted 75 bucks for a set of take-offs....not new. So I bought a set off Ebay for 18 bucks and 20 bucks shipping....stock and undrilled.

I think that if Yamaha were going to keep the venture that they would have updated it already. I don't think we'll see any more after 2010.

I tried a car tire twice... on 2 different Valkyries...and did not like the handling. I really wanted to like the C/T but found out that it's not for me. I put the Avon back on and fell in love with the handling again. Some may like a C/T on their bike but I'll stick with a motorcycle tire. Each to his/her own.

The tech who works on my bike is the lead mechanic and he also owns an RSV. So far they have done a good job for me on my bikes.

I had Baker wings on 2 Valks and a Wing. Good product but very expensive. I think I'll go with Buddy Rich's deflectors this time around. Thanks though everyone for the response.

Can someone please tell me who it is that sells the deflectors to keep the wind off the knees? Winter is coming and they could come in handy for those cold rides. Thanks....... Art

Thanks for the replies everyone. I found the site I wanted...Ride Bell Chain. Where you buy a bell for someone in the queue and it eventually filters down to you, therefore you aren't buying your own bell. Thanks again for your replies.

Can't the hoses and cables be run behind the triple tree and gain enough length so as not to have to change these out? -
