I have a set that are drilled out but they sound too harsh. I think I'll save up for a set of Khromewerks.... I like the sound of those.

If I get home in time tonight I'll come to chat. Gonna go to "bike night" and might take a ride after.

Should I pay the local Harley dealer 75 bucks for a new set of R/K takeoff mufflers? I don't know if the difference in sound would justify the price of the muffs. Art

Yeah, I heard yours that day we were working on my RSTD at your house...they do sound good. Maybe some day I can get a set.

I've been thinking about the Kromeworks too. I've heard them, they sound great.

I have a set of gutted R/Ks that I bought from someone. They are pretty loud...no rumble, just blaaatttt.

Got the warning again. I won't worry about it...thanks. Reason I was asking is that there's a set on ebay for a decent price. I don't like LOUD pipes so I just thought I'd ask about them.

Yep...same message. I'll try this link...thanks.

FireFox doesn't want me to go there anymore.

Does anyone have an idea how a set of R/K Screaming Eagle pipes would sound on an '09 RSV? Thanks....... Art

Prayers and good thoughts to you. Hope all the tests turn out ok and you recover quickly.

God bless and prayers for good news in November.

Yup.... I do.

Yesterday, Sat. 9/19 I rode from Charleston to Sumter and back. Went there on an '07 RSTD and came back on an '09 RSV. Great weather, good ride, good friend to ride with. What more could a biker want?

I might just go ahead and get the R3T....love that power.

Come to think of it....it's possible that it was the belt. Whatever it was I don't want any part of it.

So... I got to Jonesing for a new bike. I was looking hard at the new Triumph Rocket III Touring. Test rode it for about 30 miles yesterday. I loved the power, the way it handled, and sooooo smooth. However, there's a LOT of hot air coming off the radiator and headers. In winter it would be great...summer would be a killer. Then I rode the Triumph Thunderbird....new 1600cc parallel twin. It was Surprisingly strong...would give the Rocket Tourer (not the classic) a good run. But it felt too small and light for Interstate riding. Plus it got real buzzy at highway speeds even with the 6th gear. So...this morning I went and rode a new 1700 Kaw Nomad. I have owned a 2000 Nad and loved it. The one I rode today ran pretty well, rode and handled nicely, but had an awful gear whine, which was a deal breaker for me. My RSTD whines but not like that. Anyway, I brought the RSTD home and will probably put 2 new tires on it and ride it a while longer until something else like a really nice Valk Interstate comes along.

I had FI on a Nomad, a Strat, and a VTX...never had a problem with it. I also had 3 Valkyries with 6 carbs and never had synch problems like these bikes have.

And Yamaha is still behind with carburetors

Mama, I had a Honda 500 Four back in '73. It was a great bike...quick,smooth, and very reliable....man, I loved that bike. Gold and Black it was.....

My first bike that I could ride without worrying about it breaking down and leaving me stranded was a 1958 Indian Woodsman. I think it was made by Royal Enfield and sold to Indian. 500cc 1 lunger.
