  1. Many of the riders in our Southern Cruisers chapter have Harleys and I haven't yet seen any of them that haven't completed a ride. One guy traded his '08 Kingpin for a 2000 Harley, several have traded their 'Wings for Ultras. My best riding buddy has an '07 Electra and he rides just as fast and far as I do..keeps up or leads me ..and has never broken down or had to stop because of running too hot in this heat wave we've had. I am about to change my way of thinking about Harleys....they must build a pretty good motorcycle.
  2. Prayers and good thoughts for a fast recovery!!
  3. I had a friend who rode a Kawasaki Nomad and had a trailer looked like a '55 Chevy Nomad....really cool.
  4. The easy way around that is to just buy the fuel pump yourself and install it. Then you and the dealer will be happy.
  5. That's the Tourer...like mine...exactly.
  6. You should try A1A from Jax to St. Aug.
  7. Glad to hear that you're recovering nicely. Hopefully the dizziness will clear up soon. Get well and back to riding.
  8. I noticed that....
  9. I had an '07 Stratoliner. Just another air cooled V-twin Harley wannabe with a little larger engine.
  10. I haven't listed this in the classifieds yet. I'd like to sell it to someone close and not have to mess with shipping. It's an unused Carbon One adaptor with legs. 100 bucks.
  11. Bet your Beemer won't catch my 'busa.
  12. If nothing goes wrong I'll be there.
  13. Ok....here 'tis.
  14. I got the Tourer model. I couldn't find an IS closeby that I could deal on. I may end up with a fairing on the Tourer...dunno. This is my 4th Valk so I have LOTS of parts in my shop....carbs, chrome, trigger wheels, etc. I'll know in a couple of hours if the deal went through. I'll post some pics this afternoon if I actually do get it.
  15. Can only rib me if they can catch me.
  16. Thanks y'all.... I didn't think that you'd toss me out. Riding is what we love, who cares what we ride!
  17. Video camera I think.
  18. If all goes well in the morning I will trade my RSV for a Valkyrie. The Valk is 7K and they are paying off the 7.7K that I owe so I figure I'm getting 14.7 for the RSV. This will be my 4th Valkyrie...I can't seem to stay away from them. Maybe I'll still go to Jax next weekend for the M&E...if Hondas are allowed.
  19. In your dreams...that'll never happen. Your next Gen Venture will be a Stratoliner.
  20. For those of you who get so defensive whenever anyone says that they don't like this or that about the Venture...... no where do I say that I thought the Harley was a better bike. And nowhere did I say that the RSV wasn't a good bike. I just stated my experience from riding 4 Harleys and said that there were a couple of things that I...I personally...don't like about the RSV......nothing more.
  21. I don't think that you get twice the bike by buying a Venture. But that's YOUR opinion and you're entitled to it. And I'm sure that thousands of Harley riders don't agree with you either, but then that's THEIR opinion also.
  22. The Valks are smoother, faster, less top heavy. I find the Valk to be all around more comfortable for me. The diehard RSV and RSTD riders will disagree with me but that's what it's all about....personal choice. The things I don't like about the RSV are the buzziness, the sound they make, and the topheaviness.
  23. One of my friends just 2 weeks ago traded his 2008 Victory Kingpin for a 2000 Ultra...says that he likes the Ultra MUCH better than the Victory.
  24. Yes, they are VERY smooth once you're moving down the highway. They are Great touring bikes in that respect.
  25. The main thing that I don't like about my '09 RSV is the way it buzzes. I can put my hand on the tank while riding down the highway and it feel it buzzing . I also feel it in the footpegs and handlebars although not as much as the tank. Before everyone jumps up and says "sync the carbs" ... I have..several times. The last time I checked ...last Monday...they were perfectly in sync. Sometimes it's worse than other times. I've decided that this is just the way these bikes run. It'll do until I find something I like better. I Will give an '09 Ultra a try soon...maybe rent one for the weekend.
