"Darlene" has started to groan when I first mount her

Another good plug for the Sumter guys. I ride all the way to Sumter from Charleston just to have Al and Matt work on my bike. They are great guys and always do right by me. Kudos to Extreme Sports! -
Rusty...my '07 RSTD and my '09 RSV were both very quiet. This one is LOUD...driving me crazy. I've owned 3 Standard Valks and 1 Tourer. If I were to get another it would be an Interstate.

Music and pygmies I can handle... I hate loud pipes.

"Darlene" has started to groan when I first mount her

Mine groans really loud. My service guy has ordered me a new shock under warranty. -
Wow! Joe....man, I'm glad that you and her are ok. If I can help you out in any way let me know.

It's such a shame when they tell you when you buy that you have a 5 year warranty then when something happens they try to find every excuse they can to not honor it. Come on Yamaha....the damned thing broke.....fix it!

I guess I'm old too.... I aced the test.

Neither will mine.....aint' it great?

Yep...went riding Monday, Tuesday, and today. Got in about 500 miles this week.

As for the factory 5 year warranty regarding the whine...pffft. The factory allows for a one time basket change with the option to change back to the original......that's it. If that doesn't help, too bad. I had an '07 RSTD and an '09 RSV that were virtually noiseless. The '07 RSV that I have now SCREAMS and 3 different clutch baskets hasn't helped the problem.
-
I dunno what I'm going to do about the clutch noise on my RSV. It came with a "G" clutch basket, the dealer installed the "I" basket, I went today and had them remove the "I" and was gonna put my old one back in. I asked if they had any other clutch baskets around and they had an "H" basket that they had replaced. I asked if they could put that in since it couldn't be any worse than the others. They did and it may have helped a tiny bit but it's still too noisy. I think that the next thing to try might be another differential. I'm thinking that some of the howling is coming from there since there's been no joy with the clutch baskets. Another Valkyrie is looking better and better......sigh....or a Victory Cross Country..... or a G'wing.

I posted this in general tech but maybe nobody saw it. I need to know if the passenger seat bracket (the one that holds the front of the seat) is the same on a '96 and an '07 RSTD. Thanks y'all.......
-
Tell me please... is the passenger seat bracket...the one that holds the front of the seat..... the same on a '96 RSTD and an '07 RSTD or are they different? Thanks in advance.

the "hundred" is there so when it's like quarter after they can make it 1715 or 1730 at half past...no confusion.

Poll on people that tried but didn't like darkside
Art708 replied to CaptainJoe's topic in The Darksiders
I tried the car tire on 2 different Valkyries and went back to a motorcycle tire within a thousand miles. I didn't like the handling of the CT. -
There are several things that I'd NOT do and a few that I Would do that I didn't before.

I don't really care about a trunk. I DO want to find an rstd removable backrest so I can make it into a 2-up bike when I need to without a lot of trouble. I'll give the trunk and rsv fender, etc to the new buyer when I sell or trade it.
