Make millions: invent the canceler canceler!
Art708 replied to Semi-retired's topic in General Tech Talk
Be thankful that your signals self cancel. -
I am on my 5th Valkyrie. I've tried to move onto newer motorcycles but I haven't found any bike that compares. I got rid of my last Valk to get a beautiful '07 RSV. I kept the RSV about 6 months and sold it and bought another Valk. They are fantastic motorcycles.

Damn!!! That's a terrible thing to do to a Valkyrie!!!

And they also had the only telephone in the holler and you and Alvin York used to call there and they'd run up the hill and get Ma to come down and talk to y'all.

My '09 came with a CD player. The '09 is long gone but the new, in box CD player is on the shelf in my shop. Just think, in a few years it will be an oddity and the Pawn guys will stop by and give my wife 500 bucks for it.

My daughter has been bugging me for a GPS. I figured I couldn't get one cheaper than this so I ordered one. I haven't read a lot of good reviews for Tom Tom but for the price I'll give it a shot.

Hey Rusty..... Good news about the new son! We white haired guys are the best!

As a retired FMF doc....a Navy guy who spent 12 of his 20 years with the Marines, all I can say is Semper Fi Marines!

I used to take my race car rear ends to the dealer. There was a mechanic there who set up the differentials and would work on the side. Ask one of the Ford mechanics at the dealer if anyone there can do it.

I bought an '07 Strat. Beautiful bike, fairly quick for a v-twinky. I kept it a whole 2 weeks before the noisy motor and vibrations got to me. Lost some money on it but I found out that a short test ride won't always tell you what you need to know about a bike.

I want one!!

Sorry to hear about your mom, Joe. My condolences and prayers.

I had a '70 Coronet R/T convertible, 440, 4 speed, 6 Pac. Drove it 3 years and sold it to a kid who worked for me in the Navy. Just another car.....sigh. I found out a few years ago that they made 16 Coronet R/T convertibles....4 with 6 packs and 4 speeds.

George....that's a Tourer like my other one was, with the hard bags. If you've never ridden one I'll let you ride mine next time we meet up. They are great bikes, smooth and fast. I do want the Interstate model....maybe one day I'll get one.

Moving Mom to Hospice

So sorry to hear this , Joe. You and your family are in my prayers. If I can do anything for you please let me know. -
Mark....do yourself a favor. Look around for a Hollander Interchange manual that covers the '53 Merc. It will tell you all the parts from other cars that can be used for your car. Your local library might have one. It's an invaluable reference when working on old cars. They are very expensive to buy but worth every penny. I might have one that will cover that year if you can't find one on your own. I could lend it to you, with a fervent promise to return it. Good luck with your project.

Back in the '70's bikers used to wave. Back then it was a fist held up like in a "power" sign.

Bike lift help....

That would definitely be ideal. But we went the cheap and easy way. -
Bike lift help....
Art708 replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Ours are about 4 feet....wanted to make sure that there was plenty of room. We drilled the front of the lift and bolted that chock on in place of the screw type thing. Covered the boxes with some carpet to minimize foot slippage. -
Very seldom do I not get a wave from another biker. Most Harleys, Wings, sport bikes...doesn't matter. Just about everyone here waves....even most of the hard core looking Harley bikers.

Bike lift help....
Art708 replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
We made two long, rectangular boxes and turned them bottom side up, one on each side, next to our lift and we just ride up on it using the boxes for our feet. We have one of the rocker type supports to hold the front wheel when we ride into it. Then dismount and put the tie-downs on. Simple and easy. In one pic you can see the front wheel chock and in the other you can see one of the "boxes" pushed out of the way .
