Do you have the Yamaha Trunk Bag?
Squidley replied to Freebird's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don, I know the Kuryakyn bags have a small zippered area between the 2 small compartments on the front of the main bag. This is where the rain cover is on those style bags, does yours have that? -
What kind of tires are you running? I have found, and this is why I dont like them, that Dunlops will track terribly on tar snakes and any road imperfection. I have actually had my bike be jeked over in the rain from the front tire tracking a tar snake. You have recieved a lot of good advise here but I just wanted to throw this out too

Thom, Here are some pics of what I did for mine. I drilled the 90 degree elbow and tapped it with a 1/2" 20 tap and installed the bolt. This took up the majority of the play in that Kuryakyn hole. If you still want the stock brackets let me know and we'll proceed from that.

You know it's all your fault, you let him join back in '04

Thats just good deer management, let that youngun spread some of his genetics and it will be good for many years. I have passed shots on big deer just because the shot wasn't good. I wanted to take them in an awful bad way, but it could have turned bad very easily. I think the biggest thing with any hunter is to calm down. I have had buck fever so bad at times I could have chewed through leather. The saying "calm down, Breath, pick a spot" is never more true.

It can be, just ask Black Owl about going into a curve with a bad fork seal Seriously though, it will absolutely affect the handling of the bike if they are not the same. I usually kept my front shocks at about 5 psi and the rear at about 35 psi. Make sure the tires are properly inflated, you would be amazed at just a few simple things will make the bike respond well. The zero loss hand air pump is a must for all G2 owners. NEVER try to fill the front forks with an air compressor, always with a hand pump http://www.onestopmoto.com/product_p/gp-ns-00.htm

Never good to hear such news, sounds like the entry and exit point of that tunnel has issues that need to be addressed, RIP to our fallen brothers.

What is the air pressure in your front forks set at? There is a filler schrader for each side and should be no more than 7 psi.

Hey Ruffy, you got some more screwed up stuff that you want to give away

For shame Mike ....But I will add that we have trailered quite a bit since out accident as Lonna is a little leary of such long hauls on the bike. But I do think it's funny seeing mostly HD's being trailer and garage queens

Thom, I have a set of the Marklands and the clamps, but let me mention this. I installed my board a little different as I HATE the crap setup that markland uses to attach their boards. I went out and bought a set of the Kuryakyn clamps and did a bit of modifyling to mine. I'll try to get a pic posted tomorrow, but PM me just to help me remember, this funeral has me scattered a bit.

i need help and INPUT please
Squidley replied to hipshot's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
JT, I had the same thing happen to me on the '89 I just bought. I ended up getting a pipe that would fit inside the old one and used it as a backer plate to reweld the original tube on. You need the OD of the original pipe for the muffler to clamp back onto. It wasn't a real big deal and can be done for minimal monies. If you want to wait a bit we'll be down ina few weeks and I'd be glad to help you with it. -
JC Whitney fishtail mufflers for HD?

I believe that one of our Michigan members here has them on his '03. James Beyer (Red Ryder) is the fella I'm talking about, shoot him a PM and he'll chat with you. -
I dont think the bubbles are a big deal in the sight glass, there are probably several different ways that they can accumulate there. It's possible that the job wasn't done properly, but you more than likely wouldn't have any clutch if this were the case. It's really not hard to bleed the clutch, buy a speed bleeder and do it yourself, then you know it's done right.

My 86 runs like crap
Squidley replied to Sheradan's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Have you done a complete tune up? Wires Plugs and caps? Thats exactly where I would start if you haven't done it, and have you replaced the fuel filter? -
I rarely ship UPS, their rates have gone crazy, I have always, for the most part, used the USPS and they beat UPS 9 times out of 10

Folks.... It is with great sadness that I come on here and ask for you to take a second and remember a great man, Ron Gaskill. Ron was Lonna's and my neighbor for the last 7 years, today God took him home and it feels like I have been hit by a truck. I had a very strong bond with Ron and he was one of my great friends, I could talk with him about anything. We had the motorcycles in common, as he rode for many, many years with some of the clubs out of Detroit. I can't explain to you how I felt about Ron except by saying I loved him, we were brothers in spirit and I am devestated by his passing. Ron was a member of the Michigan wood carvers club. Recently he has been an intrigal part of canes for Veterans. The group has been presenting any Veteran who served all the way back to WWII hand carved canes. He has also been donating all his time and efforts to making these canes for all. Ron leaves behind his wife Nancy and his Daughter Amanda....Ron was 58 years old. Rest in peace my friend, and I await the day that we can ride together....God speed.
