David, If I'm not mistaken Floyd, (here in Michigan) put a tribar lense in his '03. You might want to PM him and pick his brain a bit to see what he went through to make it happen.

Unless they have lost their minds, there is no way I am spending almost 20K on a Venture. Hate to say it, but now your in the price range of a full dresser H/D and folks aren't going to pay that kind of money for a antiquatedly accesorized bike...sorry to say it but it's the truth

Something tells me your going to be busy with making these plate for a bit there David

Annie, I wouldn't waste my time with a factory antenna, I always end up changing mine out to a Firestik. I have had them on 4 of my 7 Ventures and whats nice is you can buy the one that is tuneable so you can get it set to your CB unit precisely. Here's a link http://www.firestik.com/ http://www.firestik.com/CatalogFrame.htm This is the model I use and BTW if you have problems with anything being shipped to Oz let one of us know. I'd be happy to get it across the pond for you

Holy Hell Bud! You need to take a few days off and sit in the hammock. Ibuprofin is your friend, I take it everyday for the aches and pains that are here from the weather cooling off here in Michigan

Shinko Tourmaster 230 tires
Squidley replied to FreezyRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No, I didn't buy them from Pinwall, I bought them from Motorcycle Superstore http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/28/395/6188/ITEM/Shinko-230-Tour-Master-Rear-Tire.aspx But now I just noticed that they offer the 140/90-16 which at the time I ordered they didn't have it...thats cool for the 1st gen guys. I just checked the prices there for the G2's and the deal Joe got at Pinwall is better than at Moto Superstore theirs would be $174.00 -
Shinko Tourmaster 230 tires

I'll be interested to hear your report on the Joe. I have a set on my '89 and I am very happy with them so far, all the pluses that you have mentioned. Mine were delivered to my door for $119 if they get 10K out of them I will be very happy with that. Only issue with the 1st gen is I had to go with a 130 on the rear instead of the 140 that the bike came with. I really can't tell the difference in the sizes as far as feel on the bike. -
Vance, Thats one of the ones you can get, the progressive one is exactly the same thing, thats a good price

Have you changed out all the brake fluid in the bike? That can sometimes lead to having a softer brake. What kind of EBC's did you use the HH's or an organic. The organics tend to be a bit softer and you might feel that. As far as the calipers, I wouldn't think that an '01 would have issues like that, but I could be wrong. Also too when you pushed the pistons back into the caliper did you clean the grime off them? might be there were some conatminents that were pushed into the system.

Help --- '99 Won't Start
Squidley replied to Highwayman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Good to hear you got it going, just remember dont lug this engine. This engine wants high revs, I dont shift into 5th on a G2 until I'm at about 70 mph.
