  1. Rick I am pretty sure Jeff jsut replaced the battery a couple of months ago. I am under the impression that the feed wire for the DL's may be cooked or have high resistance in the connectors.Jeff is going to try a few things I suggested and let me know. It looks like I will be riding down to Fla the first week of Jan to see if I can get this right for him. Besides that I hear Zues wants a Muffin snack. Jeff
  2. Jeff I will be spending the 6th of Jan working on your scoot if you dont get it fixed before then. Check the stator output wiring connector to make sure all is well with it. Maybe the connector is dirty or loose. I am at the house and will be home all day so if you want give me a call on the house line. Jeff
  3. Factory has a black and dark grey 92 we got it back together last year and the paint is original. Jeff
  4. You are right Lowell the only way his bike will every see 50K again is in the back of a truck:rotf::rotf::rotf: Not to mention we have seen his bike I am not sure it even knows what rain or road dirt is. Froggy I did grease it in August and that was only 18k ago. I may just lube it every other oil change. Jeff
  5. Last week I had a rotational knocking sound between 5 and 10mph and a wobble on hard acceleration.Well I took the rear wheel off today to find the problem and I found that the wheel bearing at the differential was Gone and the drive cog in the differential was loose. Would a second gen still have gotten me home from a 300 mile run at 80 to 90 mph? Here are some pics of what I found and what the parts should have looked like The bike was still pulling strong and had very little symptoms. Jeff
  6. Brad I will be calling you after thanksgiving and telling you when I will be sending a check for a set of brackets.I know someone who will be getting a set for Christmas from me. Jeff

  9. Jb the only things other than a trunk light that have a constant supply of power from the factory is the Radio and the clock. That is what I would start with I have seen a bad amp on more than one occasion Try unplugging the Radio harness in the left fairing and give it a try to see if that is where the problem is. Have you done an amp draw test yet? Have you elliminated it being a bad battery? Jeff
  10. Well we had a little maintenance day at the Beer Cave today on Bill Darling's bike. Bill brought this bike up to Beers so that I could help him with some wiring issues and a few other things. Mini will post pics later in the day.We left the Muffin shack at 9am and got to the Beer cave at 11:30 Bill arrived at around noon and we got started on the bike.We removed about 20 wires and started over on his rear light bars and switches. We had a great time and a Great meal before we finished the repairs.Bill left around 9 pm and we left a little later and got home at 1:45am.I would say that it as a very succesfull day for all. Thanks to Gene and Becky for the shop and a very good Briskit and thanks Bill for meeting half way. Till next time. Jeff

  12. Jb the fuse panels on these bikes is a weak point You should replace it soon to avoid problems. The parasitic drain is most likely the battery sensor. I have had to replace them on a few bikes for the same problem.as for the tank problem I leave all 3 of my bikes on reserve all the time.If you want to know how to remove the tank let me know and I will tell you. Jeff
  13. Lets just hope that the Government does not require us to wear them.I think its a great thing for the racers but not a practical thing for the average rider. Jeff
