Glad to hear I am not the only one that rode today.I did just over 500 miles I had to go to Boone N.C. to get photomuffins stuff as she gets out of college on thursday.I hauled her microwave, locker,Vac,fans, and assorted other junk out of her dorm room.Needless to say when I left the Rv it was 39*when I got to Boone it was 45* with drizzle to spare the roads were covered in salt and sand from last week.It got up to 65* on the way home but all in all a great day of riding. Bubba let me tell you about my latest run in with a Bmw rider and it was good. Tuesday afternoon in Raliegh N.C I am doing 85 in a 60 mph zone going with the fast flow of traffic and I see a bike hunting me that has 3 headlights. He is picking his way through the traffic and something tells me not to play as I usually do so after 5 miles riding behind me.He pulls up next to me and he is on a BMW Police bike with state trooper all over the bike and his uniform. He waves at me and is gone like a rocket off the next exit.I have had little to complain about with the Bmw riders in NC so dont let it bother you that there are a few out your way that think they are better than everyone else.Remember you probably paid a lot less for your ride than they did. Unless Mini lets me buy an English wheel it will have to be fiberglass.I would like to do a aluminum body that will reqiure about 400 hours of shaping. But she is the ultimate controller of the paycheck and where I spend it.So glass it will be right now. Jeff

Brad Yes I am going to trike the 92 but as for our earlier conversation I plan on doing the discussed change to the 84. Boo and Rod I appreciate the offers but if the bikes you are thinking about are belt drive it wont help me much. Hipshot I am thinking of using a Lincoln rear axle assembly as it has Cv shafts.Jags,Vettes, and some Toyotas have the same type rear axles.I will let you know what I actually go with and will take plenty of pics of the progress. I have to get Mini to agree on the body I plan on making as it is going to be her ride. Jeff

I am going to trike the 92 that I got from JRichard for Mini to ride. What I need is detailed pics of how the rearend and suspension is mounted. I would also like to know what type of rear axle is used.I Do not like any of the kits available and am thinking of making my own from scratch. So please either email me pics at r4774@yahoo.com or post them here so I can get started on getting all parts and materials. Thanks Jeff

Popeye I would have to say you Need a new navigator.Sorry but Mini threatened my life if I sold the 83.In case you dont remember I had a problem on the way to Vogel this year. The bike did get us home even though the universal joint was worn completely through on one side. I was ready to get a newer bike but the Boss spoke and she usually gets her way. Just last weekend the inner wheel bearing was gone when I pulled the wheel to try and figure out a wobble and slow speed knock. Why not try a compromise and get her to let you keep the scoot and you ride it alone for a few weeks to prove to her that the bike is sound. She just needs to be reminded that it is 21 years old and things do happen. These are excelent machines and I personally have put 90K on my 83 in the last 2 1/2 years with Little to No problems. Good luck on what ever you choose to do just remember that you are pat of the family and we are here for you. Jeff

Reggie the only real fix for slow speed handleing is to get a First Gen they handle great at all speeds. Yes the second gen is a hand full in parking lots but practice will help. Welcome to the website stick around and dont worry about asking questions all will be answered. Jeff

Yup she already got parts from one of my bikes on hers. The radio from the ugly bike has been relocated to her scoot and now I just got to find both saddle bags and crash guards for the bags so that I can put a Voyager kit on the bike to see if she is going to like riding her own bike.I told her that if she does 10K in one season I will spend the cash to do a proper trike mod to the bike. Aint i Mean? Jeff

[quote=lonestarmedic;1 I have one fuse to chase yet. It is 20 amp in a rubber holder forward of the battery. Has about an 8ga. wire feeding a 12ga. wire. Both are red and it is configured in a loop. J.B. JB I believe that the fuse in question goes to the radiator fan.I may be wrong but I think that is what I found out when I first got my 83. Jeff
