  1. Dont do it Tim if you want more HP get the hyper chip that is offered for your scoot. The computer still has a fuel shut off so the only way to make it faster is to change the puter. Jeff
  2. If it was an old Jacobs radial it sure would sound a whole lot better though. Gotta love them old round motors. Jeff
  3. Sorry Gerald but we are going to Freebirds that week so if you want pie you might have to take a ride to Ohio.Ask Mini about that before taking my word for it though. Jeff
  4. I have to say I am sorry to Beer30,Beer 24/7,Poledar and Sledghammer. Mini made a spiced apple pear pie and I ate it all :rotf: Aint I a pig?? But a fat happy pig I am. Jeff
  5. Froggy what you need to do is take one of the bikes to Skids garage and then the creek wont affect your riding.Besides that it would be a good excuse to go to DQ Jeff
  6. DD I found that if you remove the rear valve cover the pipe will come out on the left side of the bike Jeff
  7. Carl I know what the problem is Look in your service manual (paper one) there is a not in the carb section that says DO NOT MOVE THIS or some other such wording.Get that cable set back to the factory setting and your problem should be solved. It took me 4 days to get it right on the 84 after I adjusted the cables like and idiot that I can be. It is hard to believe but this one cable can cause all kinds of problems with the idle on the first gens and it will make the bike run real weird I thought I had a real problem with the coils till I actually read the book.Sorry I cant give you page number but I am at home and I think that the paper manual is in the Rv. Jeff
  8. start looking for vacum leaks at the bottom of the carbs and all the lines that would be my first move Jeff
  9. Ill be there for this one at least in spirit so if Charleene's cooking dont taste quite right its cause I have been playing with the recipe Yall have fun Jeff
  10. Carl our bikes use solid wire because that was the best at the time of production and in my oppinion still is I tried carbon fiber but they did not last 12 months on the blonde. to get the radio noise out of the bike replace the caps with the resistor type that the bike came from the factory with and all should be quiet. Jeff
  11. Carl I would think that the clutch plates and pressure plate may be out of clock in other words they got put back together out of sequince. Give me a call on my cell if you need me to talk you through the setup Jeff
  12. Ozzie its 83,84,85 only without replacing the entire rear end assembly Mamma Yamma has 0 in the world I ried for 8 months after getting my blonde to get one check ebay they are on there all the time in the $35.00 range Jeff
  13. James actually on a Venture they are either white or black and square in shape I have yet to find an aftermarket flasher relay that will interchange. Jeff
  14. Wayne that would be an indication of a bad battery not holding a load.Give me a call if you need help fixing her. Jeff
  15. Dave take the left turn signal out of the fairing and reach in and remove the relay If I remember right it has 3 or 5 wires its about 1 1/2 inch long and is black in color there are a few in there so make sure you get the right one.Gently rmove the cover and clean it with electrical cleaner when you reinstall it put dielectric grease on the connection. Jeff
  16. Ok try this try starting it without the choke and when it hits start adding choke and see if it starts Let me know or you can call me 9196735095 Jeff
  17. DD does it act like it wants to start without the choke on the first start of the day? You need to check the connectors to the tci clean and dielectic grease them any way Jeff
  18. Yes it is a different sets of screws JT the carbs need to be resinced after the CT is done Jeff
  19. Mike David And us Muffins are staying the night. The caps are tamperproof plugs that Yamaha installs on all scoots. They are destined for the trash after removal as we will not be reusing them on any scoot. I am going to do Color01's bike in a couple of weeks as I have alot of things to do around the house and yard but dont worry we will get to you soon.Maybe you two need to figure out a maint day at one of your places for the 5th of April and invite at least the Muffinman to do the colortuneing of yalls bikes. Jeff
  20. Well I get to castrate not 1 but 2 second gens in the morning and I will get to see Family members to boot I can hardly wait. Now if TheKid shows up it will turn into a real Venture Rider Meet and Eat. Dont be shy ride on up from Charolette we dont bite hard Jeff
  21. Nope not retired just alot of trips to and from work and home
  22. Well roughly 18 months ago I put the Blonde on the road. She had 44K on her at the time yesterday morning she turned 137K so I decided to take her off the road till all the little things like fork seals, exhuast leaks, oil leaks.ect fixed. I know some of you are gonna say its about time and to this I want to say.She still runs strong and is VERY reliable and there is nothing wrong with her that concerns me.That being said I would not hesitate to jump on her and ride accross country. Its just that I want to get her back in prime condition. She deserves it for all the milages we have racked up together. Go ahead and make your comments but NO I am not going to get a 2nd gen I am going to wait till I get her finished and ready for the road. Jeff
  23. Its about time you get a real Job Todd:rotf: Glad they decided to take you in off the streets now it may be safe for BlackJack to ride his scoot through Atlanta. Jeff
  24. It would be even more Fun at your house in the Dungeon Mechanic. what do ya think??????
  25. Jeff while I am there at the Meet and Eat you out of house and home I plan on colortuning your bike.Dont worry I wont leave any spare parts on the floor for you to slip on lol After I figured out how to do the color tune it was relativly easy considering that it was on a Rolling Cow of a second gen. The hardest part will be the removal of the fuel tank but I got a pry bar to remove it with so that wont take to long I plan on trying to color tune as many 2 gens as possible at the North Carolina Family rally in August so here in the near future I will start a thread to get some kind of idea on how many may want it done but first I got to find where to send them for the Ice cream . Jeff
