Decided to wash the SS bike today and when I was gently trying to get the bugs off the driving lights the lens on the right one decided to eject from the PIAA housing. After a close inspection I find that the left lens os loose as well and that they were put one with a very small amount of clear silicone.Hard to believe that with the cost of these things. Needless to say that I will be ordering some LED driving lights here very soon Just got to get Mini to say Ok. I would suggest that you look at yours to make sure the lens's are still on tightly. Pull the radio out and check for power on both red wires on the rectangular plug in the fairing if you have power then the problem is in the radio. I was not able to find a vertical CD player when I went looking for one to put in CLay18s bike so if you find one let us know. Jeff

The side covers look like the black tape has been removed from them by the passenger foot pegs. The pin stripes are not original. I have 3 Mk 1s and the stripes all look like Dans Jeff

I have known for a Long time that Common sense was dead Just ask Mini she often tells me I was born 50 years to late because I think that a person should be held responsible for their actions or lack thereof. That being said if the CR riders hurt themselves I think they get what they deserve for riding unprotected and like fools. On the same token if I get hurt riding the way I do and it is my fault I will not complain I know I ride hard alot of times but I always stay in my comfort zone. Jeff

Even though I got a guardian bell when the SS bike was presented to me.Yammer Dan gave me one and watched me hang it from my right crashbar at the Asheville meet. Well I can tell you that bell was busy I could constantly hear it ringing alot of times. It stayed on the scoot for around 5k miles but is gone now and I have to replace the rear tire due to a screw in the sidewall. I guess that it got filled with road demons and decided to eject so they would stay away from the SS bike. Yall keep an eye on yours and pay attention when the ring you never know what is on the road. Jeff

Question regarding correct turn signal base?
muffinman replied to roadwarrior's topic in Watering Hole
According to the service manual it take a 2 prong bulb most likely an 1157 type bulb Ask the dealer you pln on getting the leds from if they will fail after long periods of time when being used I have seen some of them the went out after sitting in traffic Jeff -
After some thinking and trial and error I finaly figured out how to move the trunk up and back on the MK2 like I did on the MK1 bikes. I will get Mini to post the pics of my scoot with the trunk in the factory position and the moved position. I unfortunatly cant make the parts at work do to the policies of my current place of employment but I can give you the plans for them as I have made them so anyone that wants can make there own. here it goes you will need 4 1 inch wide by 3 1/2 inch strips of metal I used 301 1/4 hard Stainless .072 thick but am going to remake them out of .100 for rigidity and for the other 2 you will need 1 3/4 by 3 1/4 pieces. I will enclose I bent all of the pieces to form a Z with one end longer then the other so measure from one end one inch, and flip the metal mark it at two inches so you will have a Z the Z should measure one inch flat one inch riser and one and 1/2 on the one inch wide peices and one and 1/4 on the 1 3/4 inch wide pieces. Drill 1/4 inch holes to use the original fasteners and use grade 8 or better bolts to attach the trunk to the long end of the brackets. After Mini gets all of the pics resized she will post them on this thread. Good luck and I hope you have the same success I did with the relocation. as Mini thinks this will help make her more comfy going down the road. Jeff

The noise filter is located on the inner fairing just forward of the radio and intercom boxes Inside the fairing. the passenger wiring for the control box is part of the main wiring harness. You can cut the wires out of the harness and use them it is somewhat of a pain but I did it on my 83 so mini could control her headset as needed and it has worked out fine for us. Jerry you have 15 days in the state of NC to register a vehicle. You can use your tag to go get the bike and will not be breaking the law until you put the tag back on the 2 gen. If you decide to trailer the bike you can stop by the house in Hertford and get my trailer and straps. Jeff

Yup got the disk brake on it and Yes I will be setting it up with some help from those who know what they are doing. I am going to be asking alot of questions from you that are expierienced with Hacks and will be putting the advice to the rig I know nothing about setting up or riding Sidecars and will greatly appreciate all the info sent my way. Phil I will give you a call over the weekend if I get started on the setup. Thanks for the offer. Jeff

Thanks for the advice PJ and Greg.I am going to try and wait till I get the info from Motorvation on the mounts they make to install this chair to my bike. But if it take to long for the mounting info I will be making my own mounts.I looked at it today and am pretty sure that it will be relativly easy to make mounts to fit the bike. But knowing me they will be overkill if I make them. I plan on mounting the chair to the SS bike to learn how to ride a hack rig and then teach Mini how to handle the outfit. If she likes it We will then paint the chair and her bike to match and it will get setup on the 92 permenantly for her to have when she wants it.Right now she has not even seen the chair so she may not even care for it pictures can be decieving. How do you think I got her? LOL I will let you all know the setup progress and get pics posted here as I go. Yes if I get the Info from Motorvation I will be glad to send a copy to the member that asked for it. Jeff
