    James I do not know of any good mechanics in your area But there may be one or two here that I am not aware of. Whats the bike doing we can talk you through just about any problems you have. If the bike runs even poorly First thing I want you to do is get a can of seafoam and put it in the bike let it run for about 15 minuetes and shut it down.Let it set for the weekend at least 2 days. and then try it again the seafoam works wonders.     Actually the gaskets are only about $10.00 each from the dealer its the clamps that are real pricey. Jeff

    Well I am getting the hack Mini said Yes to the guys price so I will try to get it in my possesion on tuesday depending on the rain if not I wil get it wednesday. Now to get it mounted the manufacturer is sending me info on the mounting for a first gen I cant wait to take my Puppy for a ride and soon Ruffies little dog as well. Jeff

    I have a few questions about sidecars. Do they require there own license plate? Do they have there own title? Is it a rider on the insurance or a seperate policy? Do you have parking problems (finding a spot)? Are you more visible to the cagers? How does the hack affect the gas milage? Jeff

    Gonna play hookie form work thursday and take Mini on the SS bike to Staten Island to visit Family. Any members in the area want to call me I will have my call on and if you make it to SI we can hopefully get together for a little bit. Jeff

    Question What is wrong with the wiring schematics in the book for any of the bikes first or second gen?? Maybe I am missing something or I am just used to these kind of diagrams. Jeff

    No you didn't make a mistake. The 2nd gen has a few kinks that will get worked out. Give it some time and you'll probably end up loving it. I ride a first year 1st gen and I rode it 90,000 since I got it. Only maintenance it needed was for worn out parts, with some minor problems self inflicted (not getting around to taking care of problems). You got a few members in your immediate area. Come on down to Asheville this August we're having a get together there. Looking forward to seeing you at any of our meets. Jeff

    Do to my wife being so tall, hahaha. I find myself in need of a set of adjustable passenger floorboards the ones that go on the crash bars of a mark II. Does anybody have a set in any condition they'd be willing to part with? If not can I borrow a set to have them reversed engineered? Jeff

    Well I made the SS bike legal today.Tags and insurance I have made arangements to go get her after work tomorrow.I am getting a ride to work and then another ride to Swansboro to Beer 24/7s shop.I will ask Becky or Gene for a ride to the house to get the SS bike and she will start being the transport for all of the Muffins needs till the Blonde is back together. So look out for a fat guy on a Black First Gen with NC plates. It may be me.If you see me stop me and send me home I am sure Mini would appreciate that.:rotf: Jeff

    Don I know where your red marbled waterman pen is.I got to thinking today and called Beer30 and had him look in the trunk,Sure enough the pen is in the trunk of the SS bike. Now if the pen is still there when I got over to Beers this week I will send it to you with the Star Zippo we talked about. Jeff

    The forward speed that you are traveling has alot to do with how bad the bike moves in the wind.I get alot of side wind on a regular basis to and from work and the house and I adjust forward speed to help maintain my line. Learned this from my MSF instructor he said speed up or slow down as needed and LEAN into the wind if needed and so far it works for me, Jeff

    I dont know how to tell you all how I feel about the Secret Squirrel Bike and being thought of they way the members here think of me. I want to tell you all that this came as a complete surprise to me and I still dont really know what to say.I told some at Dons that I really dont deserve the bike but the reply I recieved from all I talked to about this is a unanamouse yes you do so that being as it is I greatfully accept the 86 Secret Squirrel bike and want to say from the bottom of my heart a very big Thank You to all that had anything at all to do with this. I also want to say that if I was not married to the greatest wife in the world I would not be able to do for the members of this site like I do.Margaret is the one that makes it possible for me to travel and lend a hand on so many of the members bikes.I have yet to meet one single member that I would not help.I know that many of you have given of your time money and moral support to the project and Yes Lonna I will keep this one clean I promise. Brad and Lonna thank you for the work you put into this bike for me when your bike is in pieces in your garage at this time.I LOVE YOU GUYS and all of our members... I did have to tinker with the bike on the way home but I know what the problem is and have ordered the parts already today so nest weekend I will be making this bike as dependable as my Blonde 83 has been for the last 90k miles. Oh by the way my insurance agent told me I need more friends like I have here so he can get more Money out of me.:mo money: Thank You all again for the Honor of being a member of this family and the gift of Love I recieved this past weekend Jeff
