Well with all the toys I have I am looking at getting an Ultrasonic cleaner for things like Carbs and such.I have had the carbs on my 84 cleaned with one when I first resurected it from near dead. My question is should I purchase one of these for the shop and what all can it be used for other things around the Muffin Shack or is it going to be just a shop use type of thing. Jeff

The most likely place that is leaks from is the 90* elbow from the small hose comming from the left of the bike into the bottom of the water pump houseing it has a orange O ring that likes to leak on ocasion when the metal is very cold. The SS bike is doing it when the temps get below 35*.I am not going to change my O ring till spring.Still riding it to work daily. I will just keep up with the antifreeze till then. The part is under $2.00 at he dealer so if you have time replace it and while you are at it clean out he lower (small hose ) on the radiator I have seen 4 that were clogged completely with no over heating of the bike. I would be willing to bet that you bought water along with gas yesterday.Have the mechanic pull a fuel sample and check it for water I just hope that you dont have the same problems Minis car had when she got water last summer. Jeff -
Up there in Washington these people may be behind the extra charges at the DMV http://www.esc.org/ I found this site a couple of weeks ago while searching for training classes around here. In my opinion training classes are a Great thing for all riders I had to pay for my own so I could ride on base jut to get to work.I also believe that the cage drivers should be required to have some form of training to help them realize we are out there. But I wont go into that here. It went from riding fine to flat in less than an intersection I was slowing down for a light.I did ride on it flat about a mile to get it off the road. That is not a dent or scratch that is rubber residue from where the tire sat on the rim getting off the trailer.Nothing was rubbing the tire and it was a real eye opener when the bike started shaking side to side like a dogs toy.I even looked for flat spots on the front tire because of the shaking. The tire had 6302 miles on it when this happened. I am still waiting on the Dunlop response and told the dealer I want the tire if Dunlop does not take it. Maybe I will find out this weekend and bring it home. Jeff

While at my dealers today he asked me if I wanted all 4 cams for a VMax new and in the box's. I asked how much and he said $150.00 for all 4. Does anyone here want them for their project bike I dont think I should make my bike any faster than it is.The cops are really looking at me hard here lately. No need to push my luck any more than I do. He said that they fit the 90 to 2005 V Max so if anyone wants them let me know and I will help you get your hands on them. Jeff

Ok seeing as how we are going to do Maintenance day again at Freebirds house lets all bring 2 red bricks per person so we can surround the pond.In doing so it may help save Don money and time repairing the damaged yard equipment.I figure in the next 3 years we should be able to have enough bricks to put up a 3 foot high wall all the way around the pond. One other advantage to building a wall is that it will keep the Pond Monsters in the pond and not out on the road riding. Jeff

Dont tell Mini but I just bought her a WII video game so she can beat Sledgehammer at Golf. I am sure that I will have to set it up as soon as I get home friday. So if you dont see her in chat you will know she is golfing in the living room. Jeff

I left for work this morning at 05:30 and made it 3 miles from work when the rear tire blew out at 50 mph the scoot got real squirelly.I managed to stay on the bike and get it to a stop before I figured out that I was alright.I got it off the road and called for a ride when one of the guys from work stopped to pick me up.I looked at the rear tire that only had around 6 thousand miles on it there was no side wall. If I hadnt reinstalled the hack last night I might be in the hospital right now. The bike is in a friends garage and I got a ride over to the Beer Cave to get the 92 so I can get around. I will be removeing the rear wheel after work tomorrow and installing the hack on the 92 so I dont take up the guys garage all weekend and will be installing the 3rd new rear tire Monday after work.:bang head::bang head::mo money: I will try to get pics when the tire is off so you can see what it looks like. Yesterday after the tats we got Brad and Lonna on the SS bike for a ride.Later in the day while we had Tims bike torn apart to install driving lights he needed to go get a relay and some fuse links so he took off on the SS bike.Mini will post pics later today when she gets home.I'll let someone else elaborate about instructing someone on how to start a Real Bike (First Gen). We had a great day and it was nice to get to ride with Brad and Lonna agian. Jeff

Why am I a nut for useing the power of the bike to bring another bike to the house. I had no problems with pulling or stopping there was plenty of power to do the job and the brakes were more than enough to stop the rig when needed even one panic type stop. The cops had no problems with me pulling the trailer with a bike but they did have a problem with the speeds I was traveling. Gotta love the power of the Venture. :Venture: Jeff

Brandy we already did that we are riding over to your house after the INKING. Jeff

muffinman replied to DRAGIN TAIL's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you solder the circiut board in the dash the light will stay out. It took me 2 months to figure that out on my 83. Jeff -
