If you are traveling I95 it's only about 3 mins off of exit 93 west, then make a left on RT.222 and you're there. Or RT. 222 off of RT.1 north as soon as you cross the Comowingo Dam.
  2. I got my shorter windshield from Cee Bailey they also make aircraft windshields, it has been great never scratches and I use the short one (just below line of sight) with no buffering in the summer, and the stock one in the winter.
  3. Does anyone know of someone that makes a shorty "wind deflector" only 3" or so? I have the 7" on it now but would like a very short one for summer, kinda like the ones they make for the Electra Glide.
  4. You can find them on ebay for less than $100 usually. The guy that sells the bracket and clamps, on ebay, will also sell you Harley mufflers. The whole set up is around $200 I believe. I tried my LOCO! Harley dealer and as I expected, because I asked for them he wanted $250 for used mufflers.
  5. Nothin' is holding it's value in this economy right now. Besides, Harley's are made with 50% "metric" parts now. The "die hard" Harley guys hate to hear that. I owned 2 Harley in the past 10yrs.
  6. I bought the adapter kit off of ebay for I believe 80 bucks, this allows you to mount ANY mufflers that will fit a Harley Electra Glide or Road King. I did this because I have always used Vance & Hines mufflers on every bike I've owned, good quality and sound. Unfortunately they don't make a muffler for the Venture but the adapter takes care of that. They sound great, low rumble at idle, slight rumble cruising at 70mph, and loud only when you really get on it and get the rpm's up.
  7. I sold my 05 Rocket III standard. I had to bike for 2 yrs. never any problems and the power was ridiculous (obviously). It was great to blow away those $40,000 custom show offs with my $14,000 completely stock Rocket. Not to mention the kids on their crotch rockets. You should have seen the look on their faces when an "old man" on his cruiser with windshield and bags passes them smiling at 140mph+. But I got the speed out of my system and went back to a tourer which I aways liked. By the way... The standard Rocket III is 147ft. lbs. of torque, and 140hp. The Rocket III Tourer's engine has been modified... 153ft.lbs. of torque by only 100hp. Be careful, if you got the money your gonna buy it, that's what happened to me!
  8. My 07 has been up to 120mph with stock speedometer. Still pulling too. What's this speedo healer that I keep hearing about?
  9. I've put 1000 miles on my 07 since I had it at the dealer for the "chirp" and "whine". They did NO greasing, just realgined the drive shaft, and reseated the bushings on the "fingers" in the rear. That's what the technical service bulletin told them to do, appaerntly it worked so far. P.S. the rear end work only took them 3 to 4 hrs. I hope some of the more dishonest dealers out there aren't just greasing rea ends and letting them go.
  10. Oooo, Let me nip this in the bud! Just kiddin' ladies, I'm happily married to the same wonderful lady for 15 yrs.
  11. I don't notice a whine on my bike either. My 2 previous bikes had straight cut gears also, maybe I'm used to it. Of course I had a Harley too so ALL noises sound normal to me!
  12. Geez! I aready apoligized to FLB and I'm still getting it. I'm glad my thread wasn't "Mistake getting married!?"
  13. I know for a FACT that there is a technical service bulletin that they put out about the rear end noise. I just had mine fixed and got it back today. The fact that they put out a bulletin is admission by Yanaha that they know they have a problem. If you have another Yamaha dealer near you that you haven't delt with yet maybe you could stop in and talk to their service department and ask them about any service bullitens on the Venture.
  14. Got the stock gears in mine. I'm 310lbs. and I regularly shift into 5th at 40mph, when riding moderatly, with no lug what so ever. If I need to pass I down shift, no big deal. Guess it's a matter of preference. By the way, I used to have an 05 Triumph Rocket III, before the Venture, so I know what power is!
  15. I know for sure the "whine" in the rear is a warrenty issue. Actually the dealership have received a technical service bulletin on this issue. My dealer showed it to me.
