  1. Carl, I sent off a reply. I sure hope this will help you and the many others in the same situation.
  2. Brad, that is a memorable experience in the picking up of your bike. I'm glad everything worked out in the end without any further damage or expense to you. I sure hope the start to your riding season with this bike will be enjoyable without any further incidents. Dave

    New 2007 rsv

I'm sure the deal is a real one. I bought a new 07 Midnight Venture last summer in Buffalo for $12,900 and then rode it back to Canada. If they won't come down in price get the dealer to throw in free oil changes and maintenance or accessories. Good luck
  4. I'm sure there is very few new 06's left. If he doesn't want to come down in price have him throw in some free maintenance. Remember your warranty will not be valid in Canada. You will have to take the bike back to the U.S. for any maintenance work. If you are going to add any extras, have those put on a different bill that you don't have to show at the boarder or you will be paying taxes on those. Make sure the dealer is not going to charge you the tax, as you will be paying that in Canada. I bought a new 07 Midnight last year in Buffalo Niagara. Incredible deal. Well worth the drive and the dealer does all the paper work for you to cross the boarder. Very simple process back in Canada to get it registered and think of all the money you save. Good luck
  5. The cowlings came off very easy after taking that inside bolt out. Thank you for your help
  6. Sorry to hear about the bike dropping, but glad you both are ok.
  7. 3 bolts..... The manual only said two plus the plug at the bottom. I was looking at that inside bolt, but said to myself no it doesn't have to come out or else they would have said that in the manual... #$^* Thank you for your help, Ill go do it now
  8. I have removed the two nuts and bottom plug, but the cowling still feels like it is being held on by glue or another plug right in the middle section inbetween where the two bolts came out. Do I just keep pulling? It feels like the plastic is bending so much that it may break. Any suggestions would be appreciated
  9. Good luck Bob, while you are resting your bike will be getting fixed as well, so you won't be having that temptation to ride it as you would if it was in your garage. When the surgery is over and not before (as in the previous post said you want the Dr. to have a steady hand) ask the Dr. if he knows the difference between an oral thermometer and a rectal thermometer? And the answer is......... THE TASTE
  10. Interesting idea. I would have never thought of melting into the foam. I think I'll wait a few days to build the courage for that one. When I do things on my own for the first time, I usually choose the wrong way first, then learn from my mistake. I'd hate to melt my helmet from doing it wrong the first time.
  11. Dragerman, glad you didn't get stung. I'm sure once you got over the shock that it was neet to see, but at the same time probable something that you never care to see again.
  12. Before I reck my helmet, I thought I might be able to get some tips from anyone who may have had to cut into their helmet to fit their speakers in the ear area. My new J&M speakers fit great in my wife's helmet, but my modular helmet does not have an ear pocket area so I will have to cut into the material and foam so they can be inset so the helmet will still fit my head. Any tips or tricks so I can do it right the first time? Thanks
  13. Your long trip home sure sounds like it will have been a memorable one. Glad your all home safe now. Spanky I made it down today and back. Wever Fever treated me very well.
  14. Carl, that sounds encouraging, I hope it works out. Have a great ride home.
  15. Rick, the modifications you did on my seat, really made a difference. Thank you very much for fitting me in. I'm glad to hear your ride home went well.
  16. Bob, thank God you and Becky are ok. You obviously did a perfect job to be able to keep the bike upright so you and Becky didn't get seriously hurt. As all the others have said, your new bike can be repaired or replaced, but not yourselves.
  17. My first Maintenance Day as well. Incredible sight to see, and awesome to experience all the bikes, commoradere and wealth of knowledge from everyone. Don, thank you and your wife for a wonderful day. The food was spectacular, along with everything else. I didn't get to personally say good bye to you as you where so busy with many others wanting your time, so I thought the best thing I could do was to just leave so you may soon get some time on your own. Thank you again Dave (Dogman)
  18. Wayne, could you give us your address here, just to make sure we enter it right in our GPS's Thanks See you tomorrow Dave
  19. Evan, Greener and myself where planning on meeting at Carl's house.
  20. I would love to go, but that week is my works 20th Anniversary and we are having an open house that is requiring everyone to work that week with no time off allowed.
  21. This Maintenance Day will be my first as well as my first anniversary of being a member of this awesome Venturerider.org site. I would feel priviledged in having the opportunity to try a slice of what every you are making. I like everything except for beats, so I think I'll be in luck. Thank you very much Lonna and Brad.
  22. Hello all, Is any one able to give me a quick fix or tell what button I have pushed to have lost the New Posts link button on the tool bar for this site. When I log in now as of about 5 days ago, I lost the New Posts link button and the forum of active threads just appears when logging in, instead. Thanks for any help
  23. I have recently bought a hitch from Venturdad as well and had it shipped to Don's where I will be putting in on at Maintenace Day. He was a real pleasure to deal with. I also highly recommend him.
  24. Congratulations, as others said, it will be an easy transition over to the GW. Your first gen and the GW look so much alike. Enjoy your first ride and of course the ride down to maintenance day so we can all see it.
  25. This was my first meet and eat and I really enjoyed it. Like Spankym said I met some new friends and look forward to riding with them in the future. I rode back with Swifty, Greener and Evan. Luckily at the Boarder, I didn't get stopped. Swifty was the unlucky one that got flaged over.
