  1. Ben, I know you worked hard so the day would be perfect for your daughter and guests. Congratulations to your daughter and son-inlaw. I'm glad the day and event where a success.
  2. Gary, you and Mary be safe and have a great time. I look forward to your updates.
  3. Carl, glad you are ok and I hope that is your 3rd and your free and clear for the summer. Good luck with the insurance co.
  4. They really look nice on your bike. Good choice.
  5. Thanks for the pointers about the heat and fluids that I will need to drink. I'm going to be camping along the way and must do a certain distance each day to ensure I arrive in time to pick my wife up at the airport. I guess I will have to be getting up pretty early to keep to my schedule. Ron I will call you when I check into the condo. Dave
  6. My 07 also dropped its millage in half this year. Average 40 mpg to only around 20 to 23 mpg. I have not ridden too much but put 4 tanks in. I rode this past weekend pulling a trailer and filled up 3 times. I expect to get worse millage towing, but I wasn't towing for the other 4 fill ups. My four pipes are hot and it sounds the same as last year with the exception, I am now getting that dreaded whine that I have read so much about. Wow the noise makes the radio not sound so good.
  7. Thank you Gentlemen, the links you gave me spell it out very simply. I appreciate the help.
  8. I will be off to Las Vegas July 3rd leaving from Toronto Canada. We must always wear a helmet in Canada so I have a question about helmet laws in the following States? It would be a treat to feel the wind blow thru what little hair I have before it is all gone. Route down: Michigan Ohio Indiana Illinois Missouri Kansas Colorado New Mexico Arizona Nevada Possible route home: Texas Louisiana Mississippi Alabama Florida Georgia Tennessee Kentucky Any knowledge that you might have would be greatly appreciated.
  9. My dream trip with my wife on our bike is being planned for when we retire. 4 months or longer. From Toronto out to California along the coast into Mexico. Then back along southern states down to the tip of the Florida keys. Seven years to wait for this trip. I learned from Scott (mother) who went to Alaska don't keep putting off too long your dream plans so this July I have 4 weeks off and riding down to Vegas. My wife will fly down and meet me there for a week and then I'll be riding home. This should be a good taste to a longer vacation without any time lines.
  10. I have a venturdad hitch and it works great. A simple 5 minute instalation as well.
  11. I would be interested in going on this ride with you. However, July is pretty much blocked out for me as I will be away. Also the week of Jun 21 to Jun 25th I wont be able to take any time off. I work weekdays, but usually can take time off if my partner is working and not on holidays. I won't pick any dates as of yet as I am sure several others will also like to join in on this ride. So lets see what dates work out for the majority and of course yourself.
  12. I've been working as one for almost 24 years, of which I have been blessed and highly favoured for almost 20 years in the K9 unit. Living the dream as I have heard others say. I am fortunate as I wake up and get to go to work, where others wake up and have to go to work. With that said, I am still really looking forward to my retirement.
  13. Ben, I'm sorry to hear the sad news. I hope he was comforted by his family and friends like yourself near the end.
  14. Ben sorry to hear this. This time is not easy on anyone involved. I hope your visiting is helping his spirit. I will also include all of you in my prayers.
  15. Congratulations and I wish you even more fun and enjoyment together.
  16. First time sleeping in the trailer
  17. Thanks to John (Relic) we where able to get the photos posted here.
  18. Wow I never thought of that. I saw a collapsable camper flip out (lazyboy style) chair but I opted for the more sturdy aluminum ones that don't mold around your body. Dave-wells I will look for you around the willow tree. I won't be arriving until the Saturday and just sleeping for that night. Dave OBrien Dogman
  19. Yes, I have set it up and slept in it a few times. I'm now pulling it around when I go for a ride getting use to it, not that it is needed as it pulls so easy, but it is wider than the bike so I must not forget I have it behind me. I will be taking it to Freebird's MD. I have pictures which Relic is going to be helping me with on the weekend to post.
  20. Thank you Ben for all the help and work you did for me yesterday. Ben wired my bike up to pull my new trailer as well as installed some good looking Chrome Platinum Burners (from Walmart) as passing lights. We spent the whole day together working on the bike. Ben is very much a perfectionist and routed the all the wires professionally. Now when I say we spent all day working on the bike, I actually mean Ben did the work on the bike. I was his, not so helpful, go-for guy. I would like to say I learned alot, but the wiring was very confusing and I know I still would not be able to do the job. But I now know how to take off my gas tank. Ben thank you very much for all you did, and I look forward to getting out for a ride with you soon. Dave
  21. My wife Bernie and I are sorry to hear your sad news. We hope Joyce is doing as well as can be expected and you are both in our prayers.
  22. Congratulations Bob, you must be so excited. I can't wait to see you riding on it.
  23. Congratulations and good luck with picking it up. I hope all goes smooth
  24. Have a great time and an even better time when your bike is finished. We look forward to seeing your smiling face on your new machine soon
  25. I am a proud new owner of a leesurlite tent trailer http://www.leesurelite.com/ here are a couple pics of my new road accomodations Sorry I can't figure out how to attach the photos. Who said you have to be smart to ride a bike or type on a computer. I'll try again when I have more time.
